RE: Older Guys (40+)
McQueen had a free podcast last week with a fitness guy that included a lot of discussion about Testosterone. On a whim I'm trying Maca, just started it yesterday. The guy in the interview said it can increase T, but other reading I've done sounds like while it definitely increases libido it's not shown to increase T. I figure can't hurt to give it a try, I don't have any specific complaints other than a little stubborn belly fat and not a lot of muscle mass. Dick still works fine.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Tried a little "game" at the supermarket today, incidental questions, conversation starters....
First was with the little cutie employee I have been eyeing for months. 20ish. She always has a cheerful smile on her face. Fairytale princess beauty. Would have sworn she was Eastern European. Asked her about Wi-Fi in the store.

When she replied, I was surprised. She had that typical Pacific Northwest accent. American. Like the girls I went to university with. Didn't know how to segue off this exactly. She seemed to be in a rush to get back to work , but was pleasant. Giovanny would have asked for her number on the spot. He's younger. I am going to be 53 in a few months, but have trimmed down and am looking athletic.

Then the wine sampler girl, or woman, late 30s, dressed well and enthusiastic. She sold me sangria months ago. I tried to keep the conversation going then as well. I asked about her jacket, where she got it. She did some "kino" on me by holding my shoulder, keeping me within the wine tasting cordoned-off area when I moved outside of it with a cup of cabernet. Got three samples then bought the bottle. Another customer came.

Wasn't sure, but maybe I should have kept on sampling. Didn't want to "bother" her. She looked good today. Hmmm, I guess it is just WTF, be brave, stick around until you get a number..

What would have happened if you just kept walking out of the store with that wine, into your car, back to your place, with her still hanging on to you?? Hump Good work!

Have fun with this man, you're on the right track. I would devote entire Saturday/Sunday afternoons to it. I dont know you but I would take a look at your wardrobe, maybe go to a Nordstrom and have one of the cute girls in the mens dept(I've got numbers from there too), have them show you around at what men are wearing these days. Update your shoes, maybe get some newer casual clothes, cologne, jewelry if you want. Then go practice.

My opinion is you are ignoring some strong IOS - if a really young chick is talking to you beyond mere politeness, she's probably interested in you. If any chick is instigating kino, she is more than interested. You need to nut up and make the move. Invite the wine lady over to sample some exotic wine you got. Use the same line on the young one; it sounds sophisticated/exciting to her.

I disagree. She's in sales. She'll do what it takes to get the sale. She's also probably been instructed to keep you in that area with your sample.

That's not to say you couldn't get a number, but you'll never know without trying. She's selling you something.

True, but everyone is to some degree. Use her eagerness to get the sale for practice. This is a good point for anyone starting out, talk to sales girls to practice your rap.

Clerks/sales girls dont get approached or give out their numbers nearly as much as you think. They often eagerly give it out and are totally open to approach and fun to talk to. An ex mini LTR, and occasional FB of mine, what I would call a true friend with benefits, who is 15 years younger from Europe, is the area manager for a high end mens clothing store. She helped me one day in the store, I went for the number, we dated and became friends. I actually really adore this girl, I met her right after she moved here, French Moroccan, raised in France. I could message her right now and get with her today, we are better friends now than lovers but I still want to hit it again. I met her when she was selling me a shirt. But you should see them titties.

Congrats on trimming down.

At a minimum your mindset should be a number close.

There is nothing wrong with pursuing sales girls, but it is a safe indirect approach. You aren't risking anything by striking up a conversation with them, especially if your intention isn't at least going for a number.

Use your age to motivate you to push beyond your comfort zone. Focus on pursuing girls that you WANT as opposed to "safe play targets".

Good luck

Not a bad idea Hypno, I recommend green juices in general, the ones I make are pretty potent and don't taste amazingly good but they are effective. I usually do kale/beets/cuke/celery/carrot/apple/ginger, ends up being about 20 ounces. I make them 4-6 days a week, daily would be best.

Dimebait on a related note I find that what, when and how much I eat has a big impact on my energy especially in the evenings. If I have a big carb heavy dinner I'm lazy as fuck.

I do something similar daily - 32 oz smoothie (stadium cup) - 2 cups frozen kale or spinach; 1 cup frozen blueberries; 1 apple for sweetness, some ginger and cinnamon, 1 shot ACV, 1 cup of another vegtable - brocolli, beets, carrots, whatever I have; 2 tbsp psyllium husk; 2 tablespoon potato starch (prebiotic), and I fill with water or carrot juice to get to 32 oz to make it drinkable.

It replaces fast food drive through for breakfast. Its an easy way to get your ACV and some other things. Its probably 3 servings of veggies and 2 of fruits and several of fibres. You'll become very regular.

Its a little gritty but doesn't taste bad. When I started this about a month or so ago I used 2 apples for sweetness but am down to 1. Used to drink more coffee but that is down too.

Just started adding Maca powder, will let you know what it does. It smells similar to brown sugar, and in my smoothie doesn't have much taste.

That said, in the afternoon sometimes I'll have a carrot juice, and I think that is a really good energy booster. It has some sugar, but its natural. Tons of Vitamin A.

Do you have a fancy blender to mix that all up? I've been hesitant to spend a bunch on a Vitamix or similar, the juicer does pretty well for me.

I've been on the Maca for about a week now and I can't be sure but do feel it's increased libido a little bit, I'm just generally horny more often.

I have a vitamix but not a juicer.

I have had a lot of stress recently so I made a point of trying to eat and sleep better.

I feel real good with that mix.

- less energy crash late in the day - moderate improvement. coffee consumption is down a little.

- less desire for alcohol. cutting back has gotten easier.

- excellent bowel movements. start with 1 tablespoon of psyllium husk and work up.

- sleep is a little better, but that is probably due to alcohol cut to 1-2 glasses per week, 1 nt a week only.

- skin - no difference, but I have good skin with a tan tone to begin with.

- anxiety - i occassionally get anxiety. stress irrationally about deadlines or similar small things. when I used to take DHEA it used to ramp up. was getting anxiety a lot recently and stopped taking ZMA. seems to have improved.

-less desire for sweets and carbs like bread or pizza.

- increased desire for veggies. just cooked a stake and steamed some frozen veggies - two servings of veggies. when i finished i wanted seconds of the veggies.

- on weekends I sometimes skip a meal.

So overall its good. I started easy with 2 apples. start easy and create the habit, and then intensify.

All that said, i haven't lost much weight, about 2%. still, I know I am healthier. am doing a little better with stress.

As far as vitamix vs blender vs juicer, here is my thoughts. I used to have a juicer. it was an omega, which is a higher end brand. its supposed to be good for things like kale. Well, juicing kale is a pain in the but. you don't get much juice from it, it takes a long time, you have to buy a ton of kale, and it goes bad.

Its a lot easier to make a smoothie and put the greens in the smoothie. also, i use frozen kale or spinach and can buy in bulk and not worry about it going bad. its probably also more compact in the blender. probably only marginally less healthy.

Also, you don't want to juice berries you want to eat them whole.

I just ordered a basic juicer for carrots and celery. I can get carrots, apples, and celery very cheap at Costco and figure I can cram another serving or two of veggies into my breakfast if I juice. Cernovich says something like 9 servings is the ideal, so why not?

As for my recipe, I don't tolerate dairy well so no yogurt for me. I get plenty of protein and am trying to lose weight not gain.

As for libido, it comes and goes. I just used Maca for the second day today, doesn't seem to be doing anything. I have an enlarged prostate so I'll stay with it but I"m not noticing much of a difference. Frankly, the thing that works the best is to wear loose boxers or go commando (which is how I sleep). When I used to juice, celery would really spike libido, especially organic celery, but if I drank too much I would get headaches.

To close, I would point out that I used to read posts with crazy smoothies and think that would never be me. I do feel better. And the curious thing is that the biggest benefits were unexpected - less desire for bad foods like pizza or alcohol. I crave veggies now after only about a month. Its become easy to get my 5 servings of veggies a day.

If you try out my recipe, to start I use 2 apples or a can of pears with juice, and subtract the extra veggie.

To start, I would not use ginger or cinnamon, and then eventually add it but in a small does - it has a strong flavor. I used powdered cinamon but I tried sticks and found the powder cheaper. Again start small, but these can cover some of the veggie flavors.

The potato starch is a pre-biotic - there is a thread on that on the forum. Supposedly your body can't digest but your good bacteria in the colon can. They thrive on this, and displace bad bacteria. This may account for the decrease in cravings of bad food (alcohol, bread) and increase in cravings for good food (veggies). I take this with a probiotic pill. You can get a big sack of if for $10 on amazon, $5-10 in some healthfood stores.

On the psyllium husk, start with 1 tablespoon for a could of days and note its effect before increasing. Take plenty of water.

Thanks for all the info. From what I read it sounded like Maca wasn't an instant thing but took some time (weeks I believe) to have an effect.

@Hypno - Thanks for a great post.

I too have a Vitamix or Blendtec, I never can remember which one.

I juice berries a lot and do a few green shakes once in awhile. I need to being doing them on a daily to get my veggie intake which I believe is very important.

Like you and a lot of people, I tend to have a craving for sugar stuff. I wish I had a craving for veggies.

I find my body talks to me more now or maybe I am better at listening to it.

I can no longer go many days without eating some good food, if I eat junk I start to feel like junk and my energy goes down.

The sleeping part is something I wish I could solve, some say it is the WiFi and looking at computers late at night.

2 vitamin D pills when you wake up. If you have trouble staying awake during the day sleep more and get one of those lights that helps with seasonal disorder.

Some people swear by ginseng.

@rudebwoy

Not an expert, but my understanding is berries and greens don't juice well and perhaps for some other reasons they are better in the blender than the juicer. Berries and greens are also relatively expensive. (Mixed berries are cheaper than blueberries, and I do them occassionally for nutritional variety, but when comparing prices realize that you are getting very few blue berries in a bag of mixed berries).

Carrots, beats, apples, and celery juice well so you can add the juice of those without the volume. Supposedly you can juice those with the less expensive type juicers. Mine just arrived, I'll let you know.

Supposedly getting the balance of good and bad intestinal bacteria right improves your cravings. That is why I add ACV (anti yeast) potato starch (pro good bacteria) to my smoothie. I suspect though that its just that I'm starving the bag guys by giving them less pizza and hamburger buns. Dont' know but ACV and potato starch and frozen kale are cheaper and easier than fast food in the morning and obviously healthier.

Also, I have a friend who blends fresh kale in a regular blender, not a vitamix. Don't know if frozen kale or frozen berries will work. I think i read it works but it doesn't chop the pieces as fine.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Juicing works for increasing energy and keeping you energy up. But the problem with the process is all the work one had to put into cleanup. Truth is, they are not making good, easy-to-use juicers anymore. Most are too difficult to clean and maintain, and almost all of them are made of plastic and cheaply constructed.

One of the reasons for the overly-complicated designs are the later-day safety features that have been added in over the decades to idiot proof everything so as to prevent the lesser intelligent from hurting themselves. So, like so many waffle irons, they get used a few times and then stored away at the bottom of a closet and forgotten.

That's why I use one of the best, most "politically incorrect" juicers every created: an ACME SUPREME JUICERator. These things were made in the U.S.A. (New Hartford, CT) in the late 1970s and they are fantastic. Almost no plastic in the construction. Welded stainless steel centrifuge system that is built like a tank and will probably run forever. Lots of power under the hood (it sounds like a cross between a jet engine and buzz saw when running). However, there are NO SAFETIES in the construction of the thing. You can easily take it apart while it's running at full speed and nothing will stop you from sticking your fingers inside and juicing them along with the carrots. There is NO WAY this juicer would ever be manufactured today. The legal warning documentation alone would probably weigh more than the device.

So if one needs the nanny state to take care of you and protect you from dangerous machinery, this thing is not for them. But if you want a real man-juicer, search for the ACME and grab it if you find it. They are around. I had one back in the day but it got misplaced over the decades. Found one in pristine condition a few years ago from online from a store that specialized in "classic" cookware. I use it daily, and I love it. And it is VERY EASY TO CLEAN. Especially if you use the filters made for it (still available).

One heads-up: a later-day model is out there but is no where near as good. Same basic design, but cheaply made. Too much plastic and no where near as much power as its ancestor. Look for the original (you can tell if it was made in New Hartford).

Sometimes older is better, eh?

RE: Older Guys (40+)
I'm 41.

I recently had sex with 2 girls in their early 20s.

#1. Pale but creamy white girl, 22, student.

In line at the store, a sexy white girl with a little nose ring gets behind me in line. Immediately:

me: that is an interesting little ring
her: you think so
me: does it change colors depending on your mood?
her: ha that would be cool

We chatted in line.

me: wanna exchange numbers and maybe do something
her: yeah sounds good
me: lets drink some wine and explore the city
her: that sounds awesome

I texted her 3 days and quickly made plans to go out day drinking on Saturday.

We have fun and for our 2nd date we do happy hour and end up back at my place with clothes off.

#2. Luscious Latina with a fit body, 23, checkout girl.

I saw her waiting at the bus stop.

Next time I went to her store, I told her that I saw her at the bus stop and that she should use Uber/Lyft. She said thank you.

Next week, its raining and I see her at the bus stop. I say its me from the store do you want a ride? She gets in and I drive her home.

Next week, I see her on her break and tell her that I want to take her out to eat after her shift. She says maybe if I show up at 9. I show up at 9:01 and literally say "lets go". We go out to eat and end up and my place making out.

Next week she comes over again and clothes come off.

I told the 22 year old my real age and she said she didn't care. She said I looked 31. It's because I had a fresh hair cut and I have BEEN GETTING QUALITY SLEEP!

Turning 41 has been very interesting cause I still try to get younger girls but the conditions of the game are changing and I have to evolve.
