RE: Testosterone injections
36 male here.
Had my T checked because of almost chronic fatigue and less than optimal erections. Also, I was pretty overweight for past ~13 years plus I got into obese category few years back (at my heaviest I was 275lbs). Now I'm at 209lbs and dropping, goal is ~185lbs by Feb. Working out, lifiting, Krav Maga, hiking etc. so pretty active.
They tested my T last year, it was about 400, had it tested again this year, twice, it plummeted to below 300.
Spoke to a urologist who directed me to an endocrinologist.
That doc told me that he has no problem prescribing me the TRT (he advised to do the injections+LH, because the testosterone pellets which were offered by the urologist are costly and they can give out only a limited amount due to Health Dept regulations bla bla bla), but strongly insisted on me doing a sleep study first, since I told him I snore at night.
I know for sure that even if I do have sleep apnea I won't be able to sleep with that damn mask on my face, plus I usually get around 8 hrs of sleep each night and have no problem waking up at 5am and hit the gym almost daily.
Should I even bother with the sleep study or is the doc just trying to get the most out of my insurance?

If you snore I highly suggest this device
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anti-Snoring-Ton...SwbsBXowmZ
This is the name brand one that might be a little better but is way more costly
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anti-Snoring-Ton...Sw7NNUHK~z
it's a mouthpiece you wear that holds your tongue forward. it really works and it's not too uncomfortable.
there are other devices that push your jaw forward but these can mess up your bite and should be avoided.

The higher the Test level the higher the DHT level.
DHT is extremely mentally stimulating and can put your libido into overdrive mode.
This can be an uncomfortable situation if your at a stage in your life where you want to focus on Business and not walk around sporting a Thirsty Boner 24/7.
On the flip side, the higher the Test level the higher the E2 level.
High E2 left unchecked can lead to lots of strange physical and mental side effects in men.
Good job dialing in the right range for you.

RE: Testosterone injections
@Bill
You might be better off using the local doc to get you what you need (gear, labs, etc) and tele-consulting with a specialized endo in the US on a long term basis to be your guide.
My experience with hopitals/doctors in Thailand has been plentiful and not altogether encouraging.
Like most of the rest of society, the doctors mostly regurgitate what they were taught in med school and do very little ancillary research or thinking for themselves.
That includes the big wigs in Bumrungrad.
Not all, mind you - but many.
So I tend to do my own homework, pay for telemedicine sessions if I'm really stuck, and then use the system here in a purely diagnostic / self-treatment capacity.
Also, I believe Pro Nutrition in Chiang Mai supplies pharmaceutical grade testosterone and other stuff from a German manufacturer.

Do you excercise? What does your diet consist of primarily?
How much sleep do you get every night?
Meat and fish, I use a lot of Tamric in my cooking. I do shift work however, so sometimes I can be completely drained. Exercise, probably twice a week at the gym, I do press ups at home though.

It never hurts to get your T levels checked, but I would suggest regulating your sleep, try to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night and organized diet. Hit the gym at least three times a week, find a program or just do compound exercises, but look up how to do them safely.
I started following Keto diet in May + gym and Krav Maga and so far the results have been nothing short of great.

Thanks, funny you say that. I will be going to Krav tonight. I used to go regularly but due to a back injury, I had to stop. I think exercise may be the issue.

Same here, had to take a few years break due to wrists injury.
Word of advice, start slow as if you're a newbie. Don't overstrain yourself, bring it up to speed slowly.
As for exercise, bodybuilding.com has a free app where you can chose a workout plan that suits you and track your progress. They have videos of how to perform each exercise too. Worked really well for me when I just started and didn't know what the hell I was doing.

(12-14-2016 03:21 PM)S3K2 Wrote: Grenblin, what is your ratio of muscle loss to body fat loss on a cut using keto? I did keto for 6 months and couldn't change my ratio of 1lbs of fat loss to .5lbs of muscle loss. 1: .5. By personal experience it is far more effective of finding that delicate balance of just the right amount of carbs. I look my best now than I ever have while finding my exact carb/protein/fats balance. This obviously changes on workout days so I cycle my fats/carbs. Keto breaks down too much muscle even though it is very effective at losing weight. That weight is body fat but also some muscle. By eating carbs (the right amount for your LBM) you can lose bodyfat WHILE increasing muscle mass. Keep in mind if your on a cut, the muscle mass increase will be minute compared to the bodyfat loss. And vice versa on a bulk. Keto gets too much attention due to the rapid loss of weight however ineffective for the long term. You will have to fight to put the muscle back on you during a bulk.
I did not measure my ratio or loss fat vs muscle.
My main goal was to lose weight while maintaining whatever muscle I had left under that layer of lard I've put on over past decade.
However, while losing close to 50 lbs in 6 months (so far) I also lifted at least 3 times a week and I can definitely say that not only my muscles grew in size visually, but my strength increased drastically as well. E.g. when I started I barely could bench an empty barbell (3x12x45lbs) now I do the same with 135lbs.
The plan is to lose 30lbs more while staying on muscle maintenance route and start growing them after that which will probably require a change in diet.
