RE: Testosterone injections
Something I have noticed is that doctors that are a bit out of the mainstream, such as homeopaths, osteopaths, "holistic" types, seem to be more amenable to diagnosing/prescribing for low T than the regular types. I could be wrong, but maybe you should search out one of those non-GP types and perhaps you'll get a more sympathetic hearing.
My doc is a D.O, for example, and he wants me at 7-900. He's my kinda guy.

Wow this is a ballsy move, not sure why you would go cold turkey?
Can you get your hands on some Clomid to help stimulate natural production, maybe Cialis to help with boners while your Test is super low?
Not to cut you down, but this is most likely going to be a stressful recovery for you.
May possibly even result in growing a huge set of permanent Man-Boobs (Gyno)
You might want to reconsider.
Anyways, please pony up the details of your experiment!

RE: Testosterone injections
Can't get quotes to work on my phone. I'll answer JMK first:
I came off because the side effects were too rough. Mostly a huge increase in constant, pervasive anxiety. Tightness in the chest, felt like I couldn't breathe. I started panic-tapping at jiu-jitsu when someone would be on top.
I experienced a full-blown, holy shit Im gonna die panic attack after starting TRT. I've had several more over the past year +.
Body acne was also out of control. I had constant painful, large zits on my back, chest and shoulders. Doc wrote several different RXs for acne but it never cleared up.
Basically, the side effects were worse than the benefits.
I may go back on at a lower dose, but probably not.

RE: Testosterone injections
To storm:
Before starting, my T levels were 450ish and a little low on the free T side. I did not need TRT. My levels fluctuated all the time while on T, as did my dose. Highest was 959ng/dl.
I started mainly because of all the benefits being talked about on here, and from Mike Cernovich.
On occasion, I took arimidex or HCG but never for very long.
The benefits I saw were, increased erection strength/penis size (seriously), increased libido, almost zero muscle soreness after hard lifting. Put on muscle easier than before.
The increased libido is a +\-, though because I would often wake in the middle of the night to pee, but I'd have a rock hard erection. So I'd lie in bed for 30 min waiting to get soft so I could pee.

RE: Testosterone injections
Scrapper-
took my last shot of T the first week of March. Then I took 500iu of HCG 1x/wk for 4 weeks.
Blood work from 2 weeks ago shows T at 253ng/dl, and E2 is 8.(very low). No estrogenic signs at all, no man boobs.
I believe the worst part is over. For a couple of weeks I was very tired and moody. I've lost 13lbs in 6 weeks. Smaller muscles, but lost a lot of water weight too. My acne has cleared up a TON. Anxiety/difficulty breathing is way better. Body hair is growing thicker. Balls are huge and hang low now.
Physically, my strength is OK. I did a PT test over the weekend and did 70 push ups in one set, a new personal record.
Still have no libido/urge to game. Was out with a buddy who is on TRT, and he said man that hostess is so sexy. I said, huh, I didn't even notice her.
Fertility doc rx's 10,000iu of HCG to take as a mega-dose. I took most of it this AM, so I expect to see some positive libido effects very soon.

1. Have you experimented with different esters and methods of injection to see whether perhaps the side effects you experienced were related to a particular ester/injection method?
2. Why do you and your doc reckon you had these side effects? Is this a common issue with guys on T?
3. Other than the HCG did you run any kind of post cycle therapy?
Basically in terms of being super meticulous about your diet, sleep, supplementation, sunlight, etc.
1. No, all three places I've talked to about TRT use cypionate. Sometimes I would split the doses 2x/week, per MikeCF. That would make the anxiety not so bad. Sometimes the MA would fuck up and give me a 180mg dose all at once. This would result in some pretty bad anxiety later that day.
2. No idea. No, I've scoured the internet and haven't found a ton of other guys reporting such bad reactions. That's why I'm not chicken little about this. All of my friends IRL that use T love it and don't have the reactions I did. I do want to shed some light on quitting TRT for guys that started it with healthy levels, like I did.
3. Yeah, I used some OTC supplements like DAA. Since taking the ultra-dose of HCG the other week, I've been feeling a lot better. Athletically and sexually. Back and shoulder acne came back with a vengeance, though.

did you try low dose subq injections. Everyday or eod?
180 mg is a high dose, did you and your doc attempt lower overall doses
had you checked your e2 levels while on?
No. Intramuscular injections.
The doctor increased the dosage from 140, to 160, to 180, because my T levels never got about 600/700 or so. 180mg put me in the 900's, I believe.
Yup, monitored E2 levels with every panel. It would bounce all over the place. High one time, low another. It was a roller coaster. Sometimes I was on arimidex, sometimes not. We could never get everything dialed in, unfortunately. Like I said, the negative side effects and roller coaster ride got me fed up.
I actually feel way better now than I did while on testosterone.

thank you for your response.
I wish I had seen this while you were still on as Id have suggested trying the low dose ed route. I can near assure you your acne and e2 issues would've been less of a problem, possibly not an issue at all. You can't go back and forth between 2 x a week and once a week bolus dosing and not expect the hormonal spikes.
The anxiety I believe is a byproduct of your dose or at least exacerbated by the dosing size, what was you shbg pre trt and during?

RE: Testosterone injections
Went in to get my bloodwork done. Test at 1200, est at 44.
Krav maga twice a week, loving it. Unlike other martial arts this brings out the hunter killer instinct in me. On the other days I lift.
This last weekend I flew into Colorado, climbed mountains, rafted whitewater rivers, and hit the nightlife. One girl said to me over and over again that I was beautiful. That is new.
I've gone very far from when I began test.
I did a sentiment analysis of my diary... An algorithm to tell how often I talk about positive things vs negative ones. The last four months have shot straight up: an increase of about 25% positivity.
My memory has also improved. For example, in January I could not remember anyone's name until I wrote it down but now I remember without paying attention relatively often.
I sleep less and sleep better. I felt more refreshed after my sleep last night (4 hours) than I did from the 10+ hours sleeps I had in December.
The downside is that my BF% has gone up, probably because I am bulking. I went in to a lab today to have my body fat measured clinically in one of those pods. It was at 21%, up from 19% in January.
If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

The normal range for TRT is 100-200mg per week. I've heard a few experts suggest "less is more" in the beginning, i.e. don't start at the high end of that range, start with 100-150mg to see how your body reacts. I've known guys that took 250mg per week but their goals were outside of the scope of typical long term TRT.
Weekly injections of testosterone enanthate (or cypionate) work for some guys. However, other guys prefer to inject more frequently for more stable blood levels, i.e. 75mg twice per instead of 150mg once per week.
Endocrinologists frequently prescribe the wrong dosages of TRT. There is a lot of misinformation and conflicting opinions on TRT but the one consistent message I've read is that you cannot trust doctors and you have to do a lot of research on your own.

RE: Testosterone injections
^I second birthday cat's remarks.
250 mg is a lot, start lower.
And definitely don't inject it all at once, go for bi-weekly injections or even subcutaneous injections every other day.

Great work, Storm.
However, your estradiol is very high at 44, the optimal range is 20-30.
I think that your increased e2 might be the cause for getting fatter.

250mg/week is definitely not normal, and not a starter dosage. I started on 250mg/week last july, and am still doing it.
I got blood work done 3 months in, and my Testosterone was at 2100 nanograms/deciliter!!!
You will definitely be way above normal physiological numbers if you take 250, wanted to point this out.
