We need a new ROK article on this film closer to the release date like they did with star wars 7.....no doubt it's in preparation.

The thin one with red hair is reasonably bangable in the hospital pics. Aside from that, this movie will have a big opening night, and be on DVD within 6 weeks. People forget that while Ghostbusters was a solid movie, it was also part of the "summer of '84" movie season, and that entire year was one classic after another.

I saw 5 of those movies in that list at the theater. And I'd almost bet that anyone old enough to remember '84 saw at least one from that list in the theater. There was also the '84 Summer Olympics that are regarded as the most successful ever, despite the Soviet boycott. The most iconic show of the 80s debuted that fall: Miami Vice. Reagan won a second term in a crushing defeat that fall as well. The Transformers TV show and toys appeared in the US that year.

Judging by its box-office take of around $220 million (at a time when an adult movie ticket was about $4 for an evening show) Ghostbusters can certainly stand on its own merit. But it was also part of something much larger. 1984 is really when the decade we simply call "the 80s" began. The recession of '82 was over. Reagan was going to put the smackdown on Russia once and for all. Everything seemed bright, and there was a sense of optimism everywhere. Ghostbusters had an incredible amount of positive energy pushing it along.

Most importantly, the original never took itself seriously. When the main villain appears in the form of a marshmallow man, you're not trying to be too serious. When you've got a group of middle aged women engaging in snark, low quality slapstick, and making sure the audience knows "I'm the smartest physicist" or whatever, what you really have is a "comedy" that is more obnoxious than funny, and obviously wants to be taken a little more serious. And as with so many Hollywood shows they'll use a baffling array of special effects and ear drum shattering sounds to conceal the shit story, political agenda, and help you forget that you just paid $16 to watch a bunch of old bitches and a tranny in an IMAX pile of dog shit.

Googled the "Ghostbusters hospital" thing, they're calling it charity, but you don't do this before a movie.
Didn't Chris Pratt do this too for the guardians movie? EXCEPT he did it AFTER the movie, when the kids wanted to see Star Lord come visit them. Not this tasteless egregious publicity stunt, pre-movie.

Came across comments calling it "spawn camping". At first I didn't get it, until I realized ghostbusters bust ghosts, and well, these kids are dying, and the early bird gets the worm, so to speak.

Heard a couple of morning show people talking about the trailer on the drive to work this morning. Show is a typical blue pill cuckfest (I just like some of the station's music) but even they hated the trailer.

Blue pill manlet said the original was a classic that didn't need a reboot. Feminist co-host agreed and went further, saying the trailer wasn't remotely funny and the movie just looked bad. She said she doubted she'd see it, and the only reason women might want to watch it is to eyefuck Chris Hemsworth.

If even blue pillers and feminists think it's garbage based on the trailer, I doubt it has much hope. Good.

I think Winston earned a deegree between the ghosbusters 2 movie and the 2009 videogame(which is considered cannon), but that still doesn't make sense because when the team busted gozer, winston was not a scientist.

He wasn't even the sassy black man like his new counterpart, he was simply a surrogate for the audience,the everyday man being inserted in a group of 3 science nerds, he spoke with intelligence and even simplified the technobabble for the mayor to understand, him being black was not a character quirk, just a coincidence.

But the obvious reason he was called a scientist, the other options were probably : 4 guys, heroes, men saved new york and that obvious truth is too much for this hollywood hype progressive bullshit movie to handle, so they just refer to those men in a gender neutral noun

This movie is so much shit, the feminist exposition on this movie is unbearable, she's the best engineer, she's the best nuclear physicist of the whole world, SHOW don't TELL, in the original movies they had a well written script, like the case of showing Dr. Venkman genius, it took me a long time as a kid to notice that he was not just simply hitting on that chick in the beggining of the movie, the real experiment was to test if negative reinforcement improves one telepathic powers, which he indeed proved... no stupid verbal exposition, but hey i guess women being overtly boastful of themselves is not far from truth

Also what the fuck with the dark lighting and these vivid blue ghost, they suck balls, the lightning sets the mood more to a drama film instead of a comedy(can i call a 2 hour snl sketch a comedy?), and the fucking ghosts look so fake, not scary at all

Note: in that scene, it's the nerdy kid -- who is male -- who arguably demonstrates psychic ability. The girl has absolutely no ability at all; flattering her that she does is part of Venkman's move on her.
