Well America has some really shitty areas as far as I know.

I lived in the Netherlands for a few years. There weren't a lot of police around because they didn't need them. Europe wasn't heavily policed like the US. Now I assume that it going to completely change.

He has a point but lecturing old ladies about it and lashing out at random innocents is where islamists have lost the plot. They don't belong in civilized society. It's not really about addressing injustice or righting historical wrongs.

The whole 'Europeans raped Africa' debate has been so hackneyed it's not even funny any more.

I happen to come from one of those European families that used to live in Africa (Tunisia, to be exact), so I've always had a different perspective on the topic.

No, those Europeans had no 'slaves', they did not mistreat the locals for fun nor did they make money at the expense of the natives (as those did not possess the skills to achieve similarly successful results, anyway).

My grand father grew up eating poor man's vegetables like cauliflower and endives with grilled mackerel. Most European families had 7 or 8 children to feed and those were very, very tough times. I'm not sure having a meager portion of cauliflower soup after having spent 10 hours tilling the fields or picking lemons can be considered "brutalizing Africa"

The European workers were more skilled and essentially built the country. They were a very dynamic, hard working community with a vibrant culture (which incorporated a lot of native elements) - and from what I've heard it was a pussy paradise too
