An atheist who goes commenting on something largely outside his field of expertise isn't much better than the standard ignorant atheist who parrots Flying Spaghetti Monster memes. Even Augustine of Hippo used to lecture Christians back in the year 400 or so that they had to stay abreast of current science or at least have a working knowledge of science or risk looking like idiots.

I've no doubt Dawkins is a passionate and intelligent biologist and ethnologist. But that's as far as his expertise takes him. He's neither a philosopher nor a theologian and those gaps in his education gape pretty large when you see the arguments he makes against the existence of God. Even other theoretical physicists -- Higgs for one -- have criticised his stance on atheism as just as bad as the fundamentalist idiots he rails against.

I never really considered theology a real study, so i can't discredit him on that basis, philosophers we all are.

What i really consider relevant is evolutionary psychology, which he have spent a lot of time on. Have you read his book the God Delusion?

And what comment did you really disagree with him on regarding violent christians?

None, if you're referring to his recent comments, because they're simple pragmatism on his part. He seems to have come round to Sam Harris's view: that even if you don't like Christianity it's been in a co-evolutionary spiral with liberal thought for centuries now, and if it comes to a stupid war of moral equivalence, Christianity wins out by far over Islam. As Dan Simmons rather eruditely puts it: Christianity has only required the blood of one martyr for its God, and he was crucified long ago.

He's pointing out how open borders only works in a free society, but open borders in a welfare state is tantamount to violence on a population.
i.e. it's a greater initiation of force on a country to open the borders to third worlders than it is to close those borders.

I was in a small German town Waldshut-Tiengen 2 weeks ago on a Sunday morning, and I was amazed that seemingly the whole town was going en masse to the church for the Sunday sermon. It was really nice to see.
That place looks like it just popped out from the Renaissance, amazingly beautiful, and white. I hate living in a big city, but this just makes me want more to move out to some small town.

Small towns tend to have more conservative values than big cities, and dangerous situations move people toward more conservatives ideas and values, look how Europeans are arming themselves with guns, the same Europeans that blast Americans for owning guns and saying there is not use for them, yet, shotguns are sold out, expect stuff like this, Europe was able to reject Christianity in times of abundance and safety, once that is gone, people will come back to it.

Note: remember women were the first to convert to Christianity, we could see a re-conversion in the next years from women.

I remember how all my German friends were shocked when they learned I owned five guns and I wasn't even out of college yet.

Now they know why.

Yup, and this shit is just going to get worse and worse and worse until those monkeys realize that there will be significant smack-down in cases like this.
