Usually I go subtle, a small prop, a mask, etc. I've got lots of "what are you supposed to be (by girls of course). It's a good conversation starter.

My greatest success gaming at Halloween Parties has come from small subtle outfits.

But the most fun I've had always has been when I'm fully immersed in my costume, and that's for me, not for the ladies. My best outfit was in Toronto a few years ago, dressed as Joffrey Joffer, King of Zamunda (I used a teddy bear Lion strapped across my shoulder).

Going as something totally immersive and well made is great, but just to have fun with the boys. It's not really a "let me get laid this Halloween night" outfit. Granted it's not always all about getting laid, sometimes going out dressed in cool ass costume is just...damn fun!

The African theme is heavy, bro. I went out last night as an African and I stayed in character (meaning I maintained African mannerisms and accent the entire evening) and I had some white lizard dressed as Catwoman asking me if I found American lifestyle to be a culture shock as opposed to Africa. It was really cool.
