Let's say you want to scout out the nightlife in a town where you don't know anyone (or otherwise can't find out from a local), can anyone recommend a good website for searching this kind of thing ahead of time?

Yelp.com and do a search for nightlife in your visiting zip code. This is only available in North America. If you have an idevice, download an app called Maxim, it has the best listings for lounges/hotels/cafes/clubs wit the intent of getting laid.

Any other country, get on Facebook and start asking questions to locals.

and of course, Google is your friend- always!

I vote for yelp app or their website. I travel a lot so thats how i figure restaurant to go to and also what bars to attack. The reviews sometimes tell you of the scene there. I always ask the concierage when I am travelling at the hotel too.

Its more important to know what the hot area is than the bar or club. That gives you options to move from one venue to another few steps down if you dont like the one you are in. The lines outside a club or bar tell you a lot about whats going on inside. But again you gotta put yourself on the street to find out and thats half the fun. I have asked women walking from their cars or parking to somewhere: where the hot spots are and that I am business traveller and they are happy to help.

However this only happens in pedestrian cities. Or at least pedestrian area of spreadout cities like Houston or LA.

So if a site existed similar in function to yelp (user generated reviews), but was designed specifically to provide information relevant to bar hopping and clubbing, would this be something you guys would use? (Not that I'm using this forum for personal market research, nosireebob...)

best way is to go to your local hooters and ask the females there about all the nightlife options.

Google maps or yelp then pull the places website up and look at the pics. Assume that the pics are designed to get the cash cows (read: beta males) in the door. If the pics aren't anything but fine ass titties to the wall AND there's a cover, pass.
