An associates degree is not enough in any country requiring a four-year degree as a working visa requirement.

An associates degree is not enough in any country requiring a four-year degree as a working visa requirement.

It's not enough online either. Personally, I got a teaching job solely because I had a Bachelor's Degree. I was fresh out of college with no teaching experience, certification, or education major, but being from a Western English country with a Bachelor's Degree is enough to be honest for at least the starter jobs. Worst case you can quickly get a 120-hour TEFL certificate after Bachelor's.

You might be right, and the real world 5-7 year olds appreciate the entertainment value of the stupid-ass gummy bear song rather than the amazingly hilarious "I have a bad case of diarrhea" song.... and if they do not appreciate the "I have a bad case of diarrhea" song, then you are gonna have to yell at them, maybe put them in a corner and instruct them to grow the fuck up and develop a "real" sense of humor.

Man, first weekend I do full time 24 hrs week with 16 hrs on weekend. It is easy but draining. I think if one is smart about it is less of a grind just need to get my laptop in a nice cafe and do lesson plans fast. Maybe just the one year in Vietnam then China is the place to go.

I think the best classes to teach are young adults so far. They are so intelligent and just want to talk and learn cool slang words. Thank god for red bull concentrate being popular and cheap in Vietnam.

Also a question experienced teachers get about 45million dong a month here for 25 hr weeks. Is China better paying than this for experienced guys? Might go to china for my next gig.

Basically the cheap courses don't matter as long as you yourself can plan a lesson and teach then that is good enough.

That being said the Celta is pretty good because of the CCQs and they do some good planning too (but you could just do the cheap TESOL cert and learn this stuff on your own time).

I have my Tefl but I'm having trouble finding an online company that will take me without my degree. I keep telling them I'm graduating this December but they want me to wait till i graduate. I wanna start saving money before i move. Are there any sites you guys know what will allow me to teach with just my Tefl?

That's just the nature of the game. If companies don't draw the line somewhere by imposing some level of requirements, they'll face a bigger risk of some idiots slipping through the cracks. It's not personal of course, but if they are strict about the policies they have the line will continue moving until it becomes a threat to the quality of their product.

They are but most are 21 and up but I'm only 20
