Agreed 100 percent. I just spent 20 minutes reading the various comments on YouTube and was amazed -- I did not expect to see much backlash other than on this forum.

I suspect a member or at least a fan of this forum posted this particular gem in the YouTube comments: "Gillette the best a cisgender soy boy can get."

RE: Gillette releases new toxic masculinity commercial: "The Best Men Can Be"
I didn't notice anything trending on Twitter yesterday about the ad. A few minutes ago I went to the Twitter homepage and noticed #GilletteAd trending with 44.2K tweets. There is now a sudden and massive outpouring of love for the commercial (and, of course, snarky disdain for anyone who dislikes it):

https://twitter.com/hashtag/GilletteAd

The majority of the tweets follow one or both of these themes:

"If you don't like this ad, you must be one of the terrible men it criticizes!"

and: "Imagine how fragile you must be to be triggered by an ad that says you should be respectful and kind to people!"

I could dig that for sure, and was certainly referring to the salon-like establishments. Unfortunately, traditional (real) barbershops are a dying breed. Just key in "barbershop" into google maps in any major city around the world. The term is no longer synonymous with the kind of no BS men's hangout you described.

You can fix that right now. Men can simply refuse to go to the stupid woman-run salons (here is SoCal they are packed with really sleezy and rather stinky chinese women).

Never hire women for *anything*. Get a male barber, and make sure your son goes to a male barber. If you need medical care, get a Male doctor, male nurse if you can get one, and you have a better chance of a good outcome. Male lawyer? Check. Real estate agent? Check. Car mechanic? Duh. Sales? Marketing? Yep.

Women swarm all industries and drive down salaries and quality both. Just take a look...any industry where women have dramatically increased their representation in management is an industry that is bloating full of endless paperwork and busywork. Women are a freakin economic death march. The only jobs they do well are when they are happily submissive and managed BY A MAN. The 60s office worked brilliantly.

But I digress.

Every paragraph can be ripped apart, but this got my attention:

“The problem with this (aside from its obvious absurdity in painting men as victims of their own potential wrongdoings) is that it takes a movement created to empower women and makes it all about men.”

She doesn’t get it. Men are not victims. Unlike feminists and SJW types, we never wallow in victim hood status.

That's a great paragraph because shows there's blowback from feminists. And I hope there's more.

Gillette (and Proctor & Gamble) can learn that hard way that when you try to please feminists, they'll just find another way to get angry at you. If you try to do something to help their "cause" (gag), they interpret that as "patronizing" or "making it all about men." You're the enemy no matter what you do.

The empty suits at Gillette might not feel the sting from a half million men downvoting their video on YouTube. But they'll definitely feel burned if this video backfires if there are more feminist attacks like this.

They'll also feel resentful too. They think they're doing a service to humanity here, so they'll feel like "No good deed goes unpunished."

Let's hope this is just the start of anti-Gillette screeds by feminists. It'd be great if they were attacked from all sides.

On the stock market forums, 90% of the commenters hate the ad, hopefully PG stock takes a beating from this.

RE: Gillette releases new toxic masculinity commercial: "The Best Men Can Be"
New to this forum but this is how I see the Western white man. A pity really. No other culture, race has achieved what white man has.

The Modern Western White Man is Fatter, Wimpier, More Pathetic

Fatter, wimpier, more pathetic. Bequeathed a noble heritage that perhaps surpasses every other culture’s heritage come before or since, the modern Western White man disgraces his forebears in all manner, by every measure. His disgrace and capitulation to pampered weakness is so complete, the great men of his lineage would scarcely recognise him as human, let alone as a child of their righteous loins.

He submits to the raping of his countries’ largess by invading foreigners and citizen subversives. He excuses the actions of those who would sooner wipe him from the face of the earth, and whips himself into a fervid masochistic spectacle for imagined sins purged on the altar of social standing. He spits on his brothers for a pittance and he salts the soil from which his dwindling posterity must grow. He amuses himself with parlor games and slick sophistry, while he hypocritically runs from the very heart of his words to outpost gardens that shelter his sermonising from scrutiny. He has let his women run wild, appeasing their last whim, and in return has been rewarded with their total disrespect for his pleasure, for his dignity, for his presumption. He indulges in stupefying drugs of the belly and the mind, concentrated by his soft-pedal puppeteers for maximum potency, and loses himself in petty pop culture distractions so perfectly crafted to sedate any spark of fighting spirit or any glimmer of awareness at his decrepit prospects. He licks the boots of his self-assumed betters and endures their debt-propped credentialist servitude in hopes of a place at the shrinking table, or he denies betterment and retreats to a spiteful under-culture of crass gluttony and exhilarating dysfunction. He dutifully mouths ruling class slogans as he bristles incoherently within a maze of diverse strangeness and under the gaze of cold surveillance. He wars with his masculine essence, surrendering to caricature or to simulated castration.

He farms gold, he uploads, he downloads, he pants loads, he MGTOWs, he cube codes, he Insta-chodes, he’s friend zoned, he faps alone, he dates low, he marries old, he’s sorta ‘mo (he’s proud to show), he cornholes, he corn sows, he’s a cuddle pro, he tucks a micro, he’s equality yo, he’s a harmless bro, he fucks slow (first licks her hole), no means no (as he well knows), he’s wow just wow (brash scares him so), he’s status quo, he’s a quota goat, his girlfriend’s gross (he won’t tell her though), he nuzzles cows, he scrapes and bows, he’s a cog-to-go, he Luvs a ho, his titties grow, he’s GIRL YOU GO!, his ex-wife’s boyfriend spends his dough, his girlfriend fucked an asshole…

…he knows no home to call his own.
The modern Western White man is one fat fold away from watching forlornly as his scepter and orbs of manly pride dip below a tragic horizon, forever out of sight.
But, hey, those smartphones are nifty, right? You can use them to call for help when another fat feminist or ingrate racial huckster shits in your face for fun and profit.

Here's an excellent breakdown from Molyneux.

He pretty much covers everything covered in this thread.

He has an interesting theory that the line of men with hotdogs on the barbeque at crotch level is subliminally symbolic of the burning of their genetalia. Not sure if he's reaching, or if it's somthing hiding in plain sight

Also, at 21:20 he seems to hint at the JQ in a roundabout way.

While a Gillette boycott is the most effective, here the other P&G Brands:

Foster Gamble - a minor heir to the fortune left the family business because he felt that they were "evil" for lack of a better word. He later created a documentary called THRIVE that deals with a shit-ton of "conspiracy" topics that he researched with his inheritance. Unfortunately he realized that the feeling he got was justified. He could have made a ton of money due to his family connections since his inheritance was just a few millions, but he walked away from it for a good reason.

Quote:Is Director of Gillette Toxic Masculinity Ad a Lesbian?

I think that the director is probably a lesbian. At least she is extremely anti-male and anti-White.

Quote:The Gillette ad started out with the recent video depicting men as the only source of male violence and the only ones who can stop it. Especially in relation to how men treat boys.

This, of course, ignores the facts that 1) women commit most infanticides and 2) women are more aggressive to children and 3) a lot of boys are raised by single mothers and never see their fathers.

In addition it's mostly women who do online bullying especially in school. Some of those girls were even accused of enticing suicide while no such case is known with men.

The reason why the elite has now begun to bash masculinity and fatherhood ever more is, because the only group that can topple them are masculine men. Women believe every bullshit when presented by the media, you show them one crying baby and they destroy their nations by demanding open borders. Thus men need to be destroyed.

And of course the elite knows that women won't find the soboys attractive. They will divorce their asses or at the very least have their pants on in the marriage:

That's another ad by the director - the message is clear aside from the race-mixing propaganda. Be soy and you get the girl despite being nervous, uncertain, soy, cuck and weak! Yeah right.

The uncontrollable blowback reminds me very much of 'The Last Jedi' ...

I swear I disliked this video yesterday. Just now when I went to check how many dislikes there are, it seems that it's been removed and I had to reclick it. I could be mistaken that I disliked it yesterday, but it seems strange given the circumstances.

Those brands pictured above are bought by many shoppers in the UK so I doubt their bottom line will suffer outside of the shaving category.

True, but it's enough if every masculine man recoils at the name Gillette thinking =feminizi-male-bashing-company.

Gillette is not the NFL - there is no NFL side-league that men can shift to, the same goes for NIKE, because NIKE is a much much stronger position. You can pick your Asics sure or some other brands, but NIKE wasn't at least as male-bashing.

This is different. It's a full-on male brand bashing masculine men. They even have a scene where the young boys smash the screen where the old pro-male Gillette ad was played. The message is clear - we don't want the masculine men of the past where positive masculinity was shown. Nah - we bash you good!

How would women feel like if Tampon commercials start with: "We really need to do something about the feminine toxicity and the online bullying that women are responsible for. And don't you know that women are responsible for almost all intanticides? This needs to stop!" Here some tampons - buy our shit you toxic female!

You're not the only one. I spent the early morning going through the comments (which are close to 100 percent negative) and dozens upon dozens of people are complaining their "dislikes" have been deleted. Many of them are women, for what it's worth.

Several people have mentioned that when YouTube got massive negative feedback on its "Rewind" video, they left it all online, so it's probably unlikely they're deleting "dislikes" and negative comments.

Maybe. But maybe not. If YouTube itself gets negative feedback, that's where it ends. It doesn't affect their bottom line.

But Proctor & Gamble is a paying client and it produces products people actually go buy. So bad publicity could affect sales.

My guess is that "controlling blowback" just might be part of Proctor & Gamble's contract with YouTube. I'm sure Proctor & Gamble pay YouTube (i.e. Google, i.e. Alphabet) A LOT of money in advertising revenue, so they probably get what they want.

***

Back in the old days in newspaper-land (remember them?), it was considered a breach of ethics to kowtow to advertisers. For example, you didn't force a music writer to pen a positive review because a record company paid for an ad.

Since this was the way of doing business throughout the 20th century, we assume that's the model now. From what I gather, that assumption is wrong. It's probably more of a "Pay for play and do as we say" model.

It's common knowledge that Google "fixes" its search result (see Steve Sailer's blog at Unz.com for info). Compared to that, altering a few "dislikes" and comments is small potatoes.

One sad final thought: If all of this is really happening, the last people to uncover it would be newspaper reporters. All the old-time writers were bought out of the profession back during the Great Recession, and the new ones are all about controlling and advancing the narrative. Truth-tellers now toil in the margins, not on the front page.

It seems that not only Gillette is paying for likes (i.e. getting a contractor to game it) but they are somehow getting dislikes reduced, which has to be with the connivance of YouTube. Yesterday I saw commentary saying that there were over 400k dislikes, however when I looked it was only 300k.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

Yesterday I saw commentary saying that there were over 400k dislikes, however when I looked it was only 300k.

Feminists from Twitter and other places went to support the video.

Funny enough some started attacking the commercial complaining about the women's products cost more than the male versions and started demanding price reductions.

Sucking up to women never pays off does it fellas?

Skip the middleman, DSC just resells Dorco razors from Korea, AFAICT no one owns them.

Oh snap, thanks for the tip. They are cheap too. People don't know this but Koreans make possibly the best dental tools with extreme high quality steel and materials. Doesn't surprise me they supply dollar shave clubs razors.

That's what I meant - Gillette is not the NFL. You cannot boycott the NFL and still watch a high-end football game. But it's easy to boycott Pepsi or Gillette. Just buy Coca Cola (which has better ingredients anyway) or some other producer who did not go woke.
