RE: Gillette releases new toxic masculinity commercial: "The Best Men Can Be"
The original video received over 400K dislikes pretty quickly. As of this morning there were only a few hundred likes.

I came back to it today around 5 p.m. and there were now over 100K likes. Is Gilette buying "likes" from YouTube? Or are the corporations working together to fake this video's popularity?

Below is a comment I noticed under the video, written by "Josh Rayner" (link here):

"I'm sorry, there's no way 3000 people liked this video in the 5 seconds between refreshing the page. A brand that lies to its audience and do not respect the individuals that invest in their products, really don't deserve the success they have."

People replied to this comment by saying that Gilette/YouTube is already removing negative comments on this video. It's looking more and more like the globalist corporations are in cahoots and actually writing the narrative in the literal sense by doing all this.

I agree entirely. I personally find this general trend of investing in men's grooming products and going to barbershops for hour-long haircut sessions quite gay. No heterosexual man should spend more than 10 minutes a day on grooming.

The Philips Norelco Multigroom is all I need and it's what I recommend. I'm a fairly hairy SOB, so if it works for me it'll work for anyone. I threw away all the plastic combs and just use the trimmers. Works for shaving your balls, head, and back. Metal right to the skin. I grow my beard and then just chop it all off, whenever the fuck I want. I don't need a subscription app or a personal stylist to tell when I'm "due for a trim."

A man should be out making money and chasing fresh pussy, not drinking cheap whiskey while having his neck rubbed by another man with a lisp. And certainly not using Gillette products!

I actually can't believe an advert can be so poorly judged as this. Other brands are going to jump on the pro masculine backlash and take that dollar. Or the conspiracy theorist in me thinks, maybe the late night hosts will use it to shift their monologue themes by ridiculing it and thus move camp to support 'masculinity'.

Or maybe whoever made that atrocity is really just that stupid.

I'd say old-fashioned barbershops are one the last bastions for masculine congregation. I know there has been an influx of fully-tatted, hipster asshole barbers but the legit, old school barber shops have always exuded a masculine quality...in no small part due to its natural ability to attract only men.

My barbershop has three barbers. The one I see is a former Marine with a conceal carry permit and a revolver on his waist. I don't feel very gay when I'm there.

If this were true then ghostbusters would have had 10 million likes and hardly any dislikes. I’m guessing there were a dozen or so articles on jezibelle, slate and the like to drive people to like the video. Or as you say they could simply be working with youtube.

The youtube rewind that was puduced by youtube got a lot of dislikes as well

Edit

I think they can reset the like counter. (so that it has 0 likes and 0 dislikes)

I could dig that for sure, and was certainly referring to the salon-like establishments. Unfortunately, traditional (real) barbershops are a dying breed. Just key in "barbershop" into google maps in any major city around the world. The term is no longer synonymous with the kind of no BS men's hangout you described.

There's also the newfound legal/PR risk (albeit small) associated with customer discrimination (the Colorado bakery case being the most egregious example). Imagine a group of dykes, with an agenda, were to storm into your regular shop and demand haircuts. Would your barber happily serve them?

We haven't yet seen a prominent discrimination suit involving a barber refusing to provide services to a roided up post-op butch insisting she's a man. That time will come.

That article from the Independent was sickening and tiresome.

Every paragraph can be ripped apart, but this got my attention:

“The problem with this (aside from its obvious absurdity in painting men as victims of their own potential wrongdoings) is that it takes a movement created to empower women and makes it all about men.”

She doesn’t get it. Men are not victims. Unlike feminists and SJW types, we never wallow in victim hood status.

This is the way our society works today. Personal vicious attacks, destruction of careers and/or jail time. Attacking families. That is the nature of politics and PR.

That's how the left wing plays now. The right wing needs to stop being so prissy and pick up the pace here. These are the rules. We need to play by the rules. Or they crush us.

Trump has shown us this. We need to learn his lesson.

People have been suggesting this for years, but the right doesn't have the media to run cover for them when they take this kind of action. Like how CNN celebrates and talks about Antifa, "protestors," or anyone who will get in someone's face as Maxine Waters encourages. In fact, the media will assist the police in doxing you if you or your group is on the right (or the opposition in general).

The lesson I learned from Trump is not to go after people or their families with a mob and assault them, but to mock them endlessly and publicly shame them. The bringing-light-to-darkness approach.

Quote:P&G, one of the world’s largest advertisers, is known for its anthemic spots that appeal to emotions during the Olympics and other events, often aimed at women, such as the tear-jerking “Thank You Mom” Olympics branding campaign and Always “Like a Girl” 2014 Super Bowl ad.

Pankaj Bhalla, North America brand director on Gillette says the controversy was not the intended goal of the ad, which is part of a larger campaign that takes a look at redefining Gillette’s longtime tagline “The Best a Man Can Get,” in different ways. Another online ad features one-handed NFL rookie Shaquem Griffin.

While he doesn’t want to lose sales or a boycott over the ad, “we would not discourage conversation or discussion because of that,” he said.

Our ultimate aim is to groom the next generation of men, and if any of this helps even in a little way we’ll consider that a success,” he said.

And by "grooming" I don't think he's talking about helping men get a closer shave.

In a twisted way, the elite just confirmed that men do rule the world and shape the society and culture. Men can't have that power -- that's reserved only for the privileged class. If you want to fight back you're going to have to figure out how to go after "them" (the invisible hand -- or as Steve Bannon refers to them, The Davos Crowd) directly. Everyone else is just a pawn on their chessboard. In fact, a civil war may be exactly what they want to see among the little people.

I'm absolutely tickled pink by the amount of backlash this "woke" ad is getting. I think a lot of normal people are getting really fed up with this bullshit. The tide is slowly turning. There is still hope.
