Anglophone cultures don't like France to be honest. Some of it is over Ancient / Medieval history. Some of it is more modern. Such as dumping Vietnam onto the U.S. Then De Gaulle who left NATO, sympathized with USSR and promoted secession in Canada. Add in people who went there as tourists and had bad experiences (such as my Father and this was when Paris was nearly 100% white).

Compared to Ukrainians who haven't exactly done anything wrong to Westerners, their people look fairly attractive (we're a vain world now) and their geopolitical enemy is Russia (who is traditionally the west's enemy since 1945).


It's no coincidence that the only place the "yellow vest" really spreaded that much was into Belgium where they speak French and obviously don't dislike French as much as Anglophone cultures tend to. Now the question is what will happen to countries like Spain.
