The crew I'm with, the friends I make there and the quality of the nightlife has the biggest bearing on how good a time I have or not. If the chicks are hot, great. If I get laid, even better. But I've long since got over chasing down sub-par chicks and/or sacrificing my Friday/Saturday night for what might be a 'sure thing'. I think a contrast has always existed in the type of game practiced (or not) in the game community:

1. Lazy gamers: guys who are into their Tinder thumb workouts, Instagram, arbitrage missions to shitholes, spam approaching and other temporary game-boosters. But many guys on this forum go beyond. They use travel to solve a plateau in their game.

Here are my thoughts:

I've traveled to a dozen countries on a short-term basis where some I have went for 100% adventure/culture and some where I spent almost half my time swiping/gaming/fucking (Colombia, Peru, Brazil ec.)

Ultimately, if you think about it, the costs of traveling to a country just to get laid (even with a few hotties) is not worth it at all. The cost of airplane tickets, cost of all that time in airplanes, cost of hotels, the INCREDIBLE cost of time and mental energy sitting in your room swiping, cost of all the bullshit and flaking you have to go through....the list goes on and on. And this is all just for a few lays with 7's? Not worth it. At all. Also, I've missed out on a TON of cool cultural experiences with other people/locals just because I was trying to get laid. Consider that a huge cost because who knows when the next time you'll be in that country is?

Ultimately, the best mindset to truly have is to travel to a country of your choice, do the things that you want to do, explore as much of the country/culture as much as you can, and game women only if you happen to come across them while you are exploring. Essentially not going out of your way for them.

But If you feel like you can have an adventure and an awesome cultural experience in a country where your "exotic" factor is also high - then by all means, go on that adventure. Just don't focus on the women - put them as secondary means rather than primary.

This is exactly my motivation for shorter trips.

For 1-3 month stays, there is usually something specific I want to do in country X. Yes, years ago that was "practice game" or "sleep with X girls a day." Nowadays there are completely different reasons, usually skills i want to learn.

For my bases, I make a decision based on my preferences. It is tempting to choose a location where girls are easy. But I know from experience that no girl, no matter how amazing she is, was able to make me stay in the past. So there is no point.

I was using a different scale, attractiveness is a normal distribution in my opinion. A 4 is slightly below average.

Also, I am in a different country and I am using that country's scale. In the US a 5 would be chubby, short haired and have vocal fry because that is the average nowadays.

I think most girls in SEA fall into the 5 to 6 range so not sure why the op is complaining. It's not like it was ever full of 8s and 9s.
