Biggest head-scratcher for me since is how did Hawkeye ......SPOILER........... win the Soul-stone (supposedly won by willingly sacrificing someone you love, according to Red Skull), when he didn't sacrifice jack-shit. He was in fact utterly opposed to Black Widow dying! I know it's just a movie, but if I was Red Skull I wouldn't let him have it, is all I'm sayin'.

Hawkeye didn't sacrifice anyone. Black Widow killed herself. Assuming that Black Widow doesn't have low self-esteem and loves herself then the stone should appear. (Even if the stone appeared in the dead Black Widow's hand, Clint could just take and leave). Bigger question is why didn't Nebula tell the guys someone would have to die to get that particular stone.


Best part of the movie was that Capt Marvel was only given 30 mins of screen time and a merciful 5 mins of dialogue.

Dumbest part was Capt America: He broke the rules of time travel going to be beta with that British chick at the end, which broke the time travel rules that Ant-Man laid out. And how was he able to sleep at night for 50+ years knowing that Hydra was infiltrating SHIELD and Bucky was being brainwashed into being a Soviet assassin?

Seems Marvel is not as woke as they want us to believe.

I got the impression he sacrificed a very close friend? He seemed very close with Black Widow in one or two of the earlier Avengers movies.

Edit: Although the way she did indeed kill herself you could of course say he didn't make the choice to sacrifice anyone, but he still lost someone he cared for.

That's because all the minority groups in their movies are their special little pandering pets. That is just the fact of the matter. They likely know it, too. The professor is right - the MCU movies will be subjugated to the propaganda ever more.

That is why they had to do what they did:

+ de-power the Hulk and make him into the safe masculinity vs. the toxic uncontrollable one
+ eliminate the Beauty and the Beast story from before where the Widow had a thing with the Hulk
+ kill off the Widow because she is the old sexy femininity and the new one is Brie Larson or some lesbian characters
+ wipe away Captain America, because who needs him, right? He is a toxic white male - the enemy! The actor himself could have been the main central point of the Avengers, but then Captain Marvale could not become the leader or some diverse character, right?

Oh - and the Russos fired Mark Ruffalo because they already have something else in mind with the Hulk.

I wonder how long it will be before basically you have Ruffalo launching a law suit because they got an impersonator and cut him out of the loop entirely.

My oldest boy is already fooling around with home animation studios that produce scenes comparable with last decade's Hollywood b-grade CGI. How long will it be until a bunch of high school students are making full length movies with ripoff Hollywood star animations?

The only somewhat heroic white cis-male remaining is Starlord, but he got kicked in the balls twice in the movie. I am sure that they will ruin him in the next installments after the pedophile director gets his fingers on him. Plus the actor is a public Christian - they need to kill him off sooner or later.

I expect that this was the end of the (mostly) great MCU years and that many or most of the upcoming movies (I see they've already scheduled eight, most unnamed, before the end of 2022) will be ones I will choose to skip, because they most likely will push the agenda too far even for my relatively forgiving taste.
I actually watched Captain Marvel at the cinema a couple of weeks ago, it was indeed about as bad as expected and the main character almost as insufferable as the actress playing the role.

I still think they did fairly well with Thor in Endgame. Yes, he gave up leadership to the valkyrie, but he went looking for adventure with the Guardians instead of choosing a life as patriarch of a Norwegian village. Not exactly totally giving up on masculine pursuits.

Captain Marvel was the first Marvel movie I've watched since Avengers 1. Watched it in Medellin while a hot Venezuelanian was rubbing my dick in the last row of the cinema. Great movie, really enjoyed it.

Contracts cover the "likeness" (and sometimes even the mannerisms) of the actor and, so far, that's been broadly interpreted in favor of the actor over the studio. Even when they sign over their likeness for future use, actors' attorneys are always looking for a loophole.

As someone who barely posts here and mostly lurks, I never thought it to be my place to bring that up, but I’ve noticed this for a while now. It’s fine if the forum is moving in a more political/family life direction, but it almost seems like half the posters here now (even older ones) are nothing like the men posting here as recently as a year or so ago. Seeking adventure and fun are childish activities? Come on man. I’ll stop climbing mountains for fun since I guess that’s not masculine enough.

As far as the political/societal collapse talk lately, I think it was LDN who recently said something along the lines of any effective actions we could take at this point, we can’t just talk about openly, even here (which I agree with). So with that in mind, why dwell on it constantly? We don’t need to hear how bad everything sucks constantly. We all already know and I think it’s made the forum a much more pessimistic place over the last few months. I’ll keep my adventure and fun while being fully aware of the larger situation and not let it turn me into a boring old man at 25.

I was amazed at how much big chunks of Black Panther and Infinity War CGI looked like they could have been pulled from a video game console.

Back in 2008 I thought Iron Man and Edward Norton Hulk (Fight Club II: Durden Goes Green) were more enjoyable watches than The Dark Night. Iron Man went to Afghanistan, that seemed fairly grounded at the time even with the magic chest energy thing... Now shit is way too entwined and diverged from the real world to carry a story.

Whatever happened to the gold old days when people made movies, and sequels were the exception? But... instead people had to go and recreate radio serials and tv series at the box office.

Black Panther had some of the worst CGI for a $200 million movie. That final fight scene was embarrassingly bad.

Freeze frame the waterfall scene sometime - the people in the upper levels are literally just copies that don't even move.

I want to add something to Captain Marvel. It's this shot during Endgame. The reason I look at this and the reaction it is having across the net, before the shoe in women power scene, is that this is the only time, THE ONLY TIME, when Captain Marvel shows a feminine side. The way she says "Hey, Peter Parker? Got some something for me?" It was sultry, it was woman like, it almost felt like she was a real character. An actual smile rather than that smug look she carried for who knows how long.

If only they kept with this version of her, she would have been far more likeable, like a Power girl personality. It could have worked, if it was another time. A diamond in the rough.

Seeking adventure, travel, danger. Sowing your wild oats. That's supposed to be a small phase in a larger life in which you play your part in the patriarchal society. Arguably it should take place roughly between the time you cease education and last five years at most. I suppose some 30-40 year old bachelors like to present the idea that they're hacking their way through mysterious jungles and fucking native women that have never seen a white man before but let's get real. Ticking off flags is less "adventurous" than it's ever been. It's no more masculine for men than it is empowering for women.

Whether you're ticking off flags or raising sons, try not to buy into your own bullshit. We all know masculinity when we see it and it's not a fucking vibrant Instagram account or being treated like a slave by a sour wife and spoiled kids.

As for Thor leaving his people to fuck around who-knows-where, yes, that's faggotry just the same as it would be if I decided to ditch my wife and kids to "go adventuring".
