I am South African and bear no ill will to any race, however, I oppose expropriation on the grounds of prudence. Of late, I am increasingly hurt by the xenophobia of my fellow citizens. My family has resided in Johannesburg since 1890, a mere 2 years after its official formation yet I am increasing told by new arrivals to the city from KZN, Limpopo etc., that there is no place for me in this city and country and that I should move to India. Bitterly disappointing and terribly worrying.
Indians don't belong in Africa and you have to go back where you came from.
Manic, I can't imagine how scary that could be. I'm sorry to hear that.
Thabo, you don't inspire confidence that this is some kind of daring economic strategy rather than.. just a sop to a very angry and irrational mob.
99-100% of the tire necklacings under apartheid were black on black.
Whilst I wish Black South Africans all the best in the future..
some of your statements seem close to the days of Quattro, of Poqo and Pagad. Evangelical and unfortunately misguided.
Whatever man. Land redistribution is a valid economic strategy which has worked in many countries.

Fortunately, I don't have kids/dependants etc. From what I gather, parents with younger children already feel the noose tightening around their necks. More and more people are looking to get out but opportunities are fewer than ever before.
I can't say nobody saw it coming but most have left it far too late.

Hasn't worked in any communist country and in no African country really. Even the old examples cited are ridiculous. Japan bought the land at decent prices from the landed gentry and offered it for purchase to the same farmers who actually were working and living there.
Nowadays commercial farming is a highly different knowledge- and capital-based enterprise. Very few SA blacks will be able to replicate that. Don't you learn anything from Zimbabwe?
This will not work - just wishing for it does not make it so. Haiti had the most fertile soil in the known world - it was a massive agricultural center and exporter. After the mass genocide and the "revolution" it descended into the shithole it is now. And even the current development was mainly based on the US propping it up so that the USSR would not take it. Otherwise they would be living in the 17th century now.
SA is still propped up by the far more productive 9% of the population. When most of them are gone, then the Detroitization and Haitization will kick in. And by the looks of it - the more popular leaders of yours like the ones from the EFF are commie psychos. Next after Whites they will come for the Indians I guess - afterwards it will be the usual dysfunction, though it may take 2 decades. Then you can say goodbye to the other couple percent of far more productive people within your country who are still propping it up.

brb moving to Cape Town, waiting to secede...
In truth, you aren't the arbiter of god's land, so screw you! Although I suspect S.A will go the way of Uganda - who really want Indians back now.
Lol Indians secede from South African land I really wish you lot would try that so that you get btfo back to your sub-continent. Screw you too man, you have to go back where you came from, there wouldn't be any Indians in South Africa if it wasn't for Britain's damn colonization.
Lmao. The joke does not reference Indian secession, but a minority state. Have you not heard the jokes? Given the traditional demographics of the Cape and the recent influx of more whites to the area the proposed scenario (made in jest more than anything else) is one of concentrating minorities on the coast and seceding.
Don't be so hung up on the Brits, you wouldn't have any infrastructure without them either.

You see this is why I can't take your BS seriously. Haiti has never had the most fertile soil on earth and it was never a massive agricultural center. It was a sugar cane plantation slave hellhole before the revolution. South Africa is propped up by it's mineral wealth, whites and indians haven't built any innovative companies that can compete in a global economy.

There are barely any Indians in the Cape which makes me suspect you're not a real South African. Indians are concentrated in Natal especially Durban which they have ruined and their population is negligible throughout the whole country. You were bought here to work in plantations as slaves and never left! I just don't see a Boer-Indian minority alliance, it's more comedic thinking about it than anything.

Purely as an aside I seem to recall that the Rhodesian soldiers slaughtered the communist blacks more easily and numerously than cattle, and that was while they were under sanctions from the whole world while the communist blacks enjoyed immense material support from communist Russia.
If the Boers were left to their own devices then it would only be their misguided sense of mercy that would leave a single black communist combatant alive.

RE: Is South Africa on the path to becoming the next Zimbabwe?
Thabo is definitely a troll. This dude can't be serious.
Chasing out the whites will only create a much harsher environment with even more crime and rape most likely culminating in civil war.
These populist South African politicians have not presented any plan whatsoever for long term improvement in the country. Simply redistributing land won't improve the country. Poor south africans seem to be under the impression that the land is being squadered and once returned the blacks, they will finally open up silicon valley 2.0, which is what they had in mind all along.
If you're lucky, your economy won't suffer a serious hit and go into a recession due to the inability to sustain the current levels of production in the agriculture sector, since the new farmers won't have the knowledge, experience nor mental fortitude to be professional farmers.
You're essentially just giving peolpe access to free land to try their luck at subsistance farming. You can't give huge amounts of arable farm land to unqualified people and expect them to evaluate the harvest, possible tendencies etc. It simply won't work.
In addition, the potentially new government has no intentions to improve other issues, such as crime, low levels of higher education etc. This whole hate driven movement is only an easy way to sollicit votes from gullible citizens. But hey, it's working and I can't deny that are good at getting attention and convincing naive people.

More delusions of grandeur. I see you're obsessed with faggots maybe you're projecting or something. Rhodesia's got their asses whooped so badly they did nothing when land reform took place and ran crying to the West. I love the super white man meme it makes victory more satisfying when they get their asses whooped.
Thabo's half right.
I've said it before.
The Boere are un-manned and isolated now.
The white Rhodesian army regiments were disbanded.
Mugabe waited until the last properly trained soldiers from those regiments were retirement age before he started the land grabs.
Not only them but the African soldiers (some very good) that overall made up 80% of the Rhodesian security forces and weren't huge fans of Mugabe either.
Rhodesian war ended in 1980 - land seizures proper start in the 2000's when those veterans were by then getting too old.
Apartheid ended 1994, land seizures start roughly 20 years later.
When the mercenaries who went on to fight for Executive Outcomes and Sandlines International have gotten too old.
The Boers now are very weakened by comparison.
Also.. regardless of Thabo's hard core 'comrade' status, or if he's a Larper living in Seattle, fair play for keeping us all engaged and amused for several pages.

Should the proceeds from the land be divided between every living African? Your point is not without validity but its obviously impossible to know EXACTLY who "owned" that land. Owning real property was probably not a concept the indigenous people codified.

Oh, he's almost certainly a noodle-limbed socialist faggot posting from mommy's basement, larping as a black man from SA. College level grammar with millennial turn of phrase. Even the local sock pupetteers are not this committed. Then try to find me one legitimate South African with those traits who bothers to learn his own history in that detail and who also knows this forum from a bar of soap.
Probable chronic masturbator who injured his jerking hand trying to learn how to punch a Nazi and now has to fill time doing stuff with his keyboard hand only.
Building up those imaginary white guilt passes he likes to fantasise will allow him to like totes fistbump with a real black guy one day, and maybe cause the black girls to at least not look at his pallid, oily face like he's a third degree burns victim.
Viva la revolution, comrade! Occupy moms kitchen and seize the means of producing pop tarts!
The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.
