long time lurker and first time poster. Recently lived in Japan for a year and thought I'd share my experiences and opinions on Japanese girls with you bros. Having also spent some time in the country, i have to admit Japan is amazing. It's the whole culture that is unique ( from the crazy ice cream flavours till the sumo wrestlers). It's a country that every men should visit before he dies. Must do's in japan in my opinion: baseball game, sumo wrestling match, eat some of Japan's unique ice creams flavours and japanese food, mount Fuji,..

I've lived in both Kobe and Osaka. Living in those places allowed me to commute to work pretty easy. Kobe is a great place. Due to its location it's host to a lot of girls from many Asian countries. There's a lot of koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese and Filipina girls about there.

In general I had very few Japanese male friends. Didn't need them tbh. They're pretty much useless as wingmen as they have no game + got jealous when I picked up and they didn't. Japan is not a cheap country to live in unlike the Philippines or Vietnam. You should have a bankroll first or plan on finding work there, which isn't easy to do. Second tier cities are a bit cheaper than Tokyo.

But what did you do there from work? or were you studying there? Japan seems indeed a hard country for foreigners to find a job.

It's Always nice to chill with male friends to go to some baseball games or to hit the gym or even just have a beer and good talk. Japan is indeed an expensive place to live. I came here with about 700 dollars and nothing in the savings account. I burned through that in a month and was eating pretty shitty that first month.

Remember that you won't get your first paycheck until after you've worked a month at your new job. Plus side is the salary was about 230 000 yen a month, which is enough to pay rent, bills, go out for drinks, buy clothes AND save a couple of 100 dollars a month.

I had a job working in an English Cram school lined up from an online interview before I arrived. Visa took a few weeks... Japanese bureaucracy is a real ball breaker; consisiting of hours of paperwork and mind numbingly slow staff.

Looking back, I must've been outta my mind coming with so little cash. Standard cost to set up an apartment is about 2500 dollars upfront in Japan. However, if you put in the time you can avoid a lot of the "mandatory " fees such as agent fees, deposit, key money etc by negotiating hard. I got my first apartment deposit free + 2 months free + no key money. Took 2 weeks to get there though, and I'm not gonna lie... it was a shit crib. Felt like a loser showing girls it so we often went to hotels or their place. My subsequent apartments were damn nice though!

That was in Osaka and Kobe. My advice would be to stay the hell away from Tokyo. You'll be broke as fuck living in a 16 metres squared box. More space in a coffin than some of those city rooms.

You lived in Vietnam? It's definitely in my future plans. The low cost of living plus gorgeous women has me very interested! Japanese girls are surprisingly okay about going raw. Sometimes they may have the obligatory "eh do you have a condom?" But you can just say yes and then tell her you would put it on later. Honestly, the Philippines isn't that cheap either if you like a comfortable lifestyle. I was paying $100-200/month electricity just for A/C.

recently I came back from my Japan Trip. I spent only 11 days cause as already mentioned it is expensive.
I did not only gaming rather I did a lot of sightseeing. IMO japanese girls are not hard but also not easy like in SEA. You need to invest time to get them. A ONS didnt happen to me. I see that its different now as compared to 4-5 years when I visited Japan the first time.

Maybe you did but none of the 3 are reflected in your post so I'll take it that you didn't.

Adjust your expectations, do your homework and maybe you'll find Japan a much different place next time you visit. Also, p4p talk is banned on the forum. Just a heads up.

Like the op I prefer to avoid the clubs and prefer the bar /pub / live music scene. Any j'ap town one can recommend to chill at the pub, smoke outside or inside and chat up some hunnies.? Any places where the jap girls like western karaoke etc? Too spoilt by the easy vibe of bar culture in bangkok.. Where its easy to date or bang randoms.

It's a long read, but the master Japan thread is very comprehensive in information, including gaming in different regions/cities in Japan, nightlife, day game, online game, etc. In fact, it has so much information that I think someone could organize it all into a fairly good-sized book and make some money selling it. I recommend anyone going to Japan to read through it at least once and then post your questions.
