RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
It took awhile, but I finally ran into some legitimate advice from a website on ways to overcome both shyness and anxiety. My original goal was to have sex, but after a lot of interactions with girls, and people in general, I've come to realize I have a lot of internal issues I need to confront. When I see people with their friends, hanging out and shooting the shit and just having a good time, I know that's something I want in my life.

There is so much value in simply turning off the brain and letting speech flow organically and being completely in the moment. I think this is "the vibe" I've heard talked about on here before. I never realized how hard it would be to overcome these mental obstacles, but if it means becoming comfortable with myself and talking/bullshitting with anyone anywhere I want, it's worth the trouble to get there.

I can officially say I've been on this journey long enough where the only way out is forward: there's no possible way I can turn back after coming this far.

Had the first soccer practice for my son's 3-4 year old soccer team. Outside of naturals most of these kids are not meant to play sports yet. Either way I got these kids laughingand having fun with a game. All 12 of the kids had to try and steal the ball from me. I even invited some of their older brothers and sisters to join. RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
King of Monkeys: What was the advice you found? Curious to read it.

I just looked at a couple of your posts, and it looks like you're an engineering major who has difficulty making friends/meeting women/getting laid. Am I in the ballpark with that assessment?

Look, first thing's first: You're aware of the issues, and you want to change things up. That's huge. And you're already making changes -- lifting weights, healthier eating, joining social groups. Keep going, keep pushing yourself.

Pretty soon, you'll look in the mirror, and for the first time in your life, will feel prideful about how you look.

This will translate to how you carry yourself, and you'll be walking around campus with more swagger and a confident glint in your eye. Put in consistent work in the gym, and you could even be there by December.

I think your sentences about "the vibe" are on the money. I'd put it another way: Get out of your head. I really think this is all you need to be successful socially. With women, in my opinion, all it takes is guts.

Just get out of your head.

Stop telling yourself that you're an awkward, anxious guy who "can't" make friends, otherwise that's what you'll keep being. Really, none of that anxiety/awkwardness really exists. That's all in the past. All you've got is right now. You're a new man now.

Keep going to those groups you referred to. If you keep seeing a dude at the gym, nod your head at him once. Next time you see him, say "What's up." You've both seen each other around a few times, so there's no really no pressure, nothing to be worried about. You'll eventually start shooting the breeze. Don't worry about the small talk, just keep things flowing. "Yeah, man . . . I was tired of looking and feeling like shit. Had do do something about it, you know?"

Next time you're in class, introduce yourself to the guy you're sitting next to. Just get his name, and maybe where he's from. "How you feelin' about the class so far this year?"

The next time you're in class, just keep things going. A little bit more small talk. Maybe introduce yourself to another guy in class and rope him into a conversation with the other guy.

By the time the next test or project rolls around, ask all the guys, "Hey, we should get together in the library Thursday night to study." After you get done studying, you'll wanna grab some nachos or pizza with your crew. You've got your first few friends.

You don't have to swing for the fences on your first conversation, just build things up incrementally.

You're just starting out being social, so cast your nets wide. That weird Indian guy in your other engineering class that sits away from everybody else? Sit next to him, and introduce yourself. You'll get to know him, and next summer he'll invite you out to New Delhi for a couple of weeks to stay with his family. You'll be out in India, your mind absolutely blown by all the stuff you're seeing, telling yourself this is all so much better than another night of compulsive Internet browsing.

I'm of the mindset that you can be friends with anyone. Everybody has something to offer you, something they can teach you. Don't be closed off, thinking "They're too cool for me," "Or I doubt we have anything in common."

When I came back to the United States from living abroad, I didn't really have any friends in the area anymore. I didn't make any friends in college, either, because I let my life spiral out of control and started my "long plunge to the very bottom of the grim pit."

So I started making friends at my job. At the moment, my closest friends are a 70 year-old Bible-thumping Vietnam vet (we go and get pancakes and omelettes at Perkins after work sometimes, where we argue about theology), a 59 year-old Tibetan woman (She brings me home-cooked leftovers), a 30 year-old Hmong woman (a mom of 3), and a 25 year-old blue collar white kid who comes from a broken home (I was the only 'work-friend' invited to his intimate wedding ceremony. I sat next to his obese grandmother at the ceremony, and we talked about her 'bad boy' ex-husband. She confessed to me that she probably would've stayed married to him even though he was cheating on her, except he really wanted to go live with that 'other woman' instead. He's dead now, though. I had only known her for a couple of minutes. We were having some fun, and why not?).

I have middle-aged black dudes bringing me leftovers from their 4th of July barbecues, an African buddy who's trying to get me over to the house so I can try his wife's Gambian lamb recipe, and old Asian women bringing me fresh veggie salads from their gardens. I was randomly invited to the 'Filipina Nurse Christmas Party' last year. One Filipina is trying to hook me up with her cute 21 year-old niece, and another Filipina wants me to meet her 'beautiful' single friend, but only if "I'm interested." I have offers to stay in people's homes in several different countries. I'll swap news about the fake war in Syria with the Syrian guy at work. We've had a lot to smile about lately.

Earlier today, one of my best buddies -- an illegal immigrant from Mexico (And he knows I voted Trump) -- invited me to his wedding. All of the other Mexican dudes I used to work with were happy as hell to see me, too.
"El Lukewarm! Que paso, 'we?!" Haven't seen these cats in a few months. I'll go see 'em in a couple of weeks again, but not before I go to the Mexican grocery store to pick up some pork, chorizio, feta cheese, cactus, and tortillas.

None of this is to brag. I was where you were once. I was depressed, and broken, and hurt after some medical issues I went through. I was destroyed. I was on absolute rock bottom. I was essentially a shut-in for a couple of years. No friends, no love life, nothing. There were days where the only words out of my would be when I told the cashier at Qdoba what I wanted on my burrito. I said it in basically a whisper, because I didn't have enough courage to talk like a normal person. I'd go back to my room after my burrito and surf the Internet mindlessly for hours and hours, feeling bad for myself, feeling lost, feeling like I "couldn't" make friends, being too afraid to talk to a girl because I feared being judged over what I'd become.

Point is, I don't have much in common with most of the people I've gotten to know over the past year, or much in common with most of my friends. Most of them aren't upper middle class white people. On the surface, our interests are different, we're at different points in our lives, we hold different values, etc.

But I'm willing to befriend almost anybody, and am willing to talk to almost anybody about anything. The only people I make a point to avoid are the hardcore feminists, whiny faggot men, and crazy bitches. Everyone else is fair game

You can come up with a million-and-one excuses not to make friends, or you can get out there and start making memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

In other news, I'm leaving Monday for 15 days in SE Asia. It's gonna be the best two weeks of my life.

Was digging through the Danger & Play archives (before Mike got into RealTalk™ Inc. mode) and found this gem. Short and sweet, yet powerful.

Quote:"What If"

What if failure does not exist, because life is not a test you are graded on?

What if rejection does not matter, because other people lack the power to make you feel small?

What if you give yourself permission to be weird?

What if you live your life with a sense of urgency and purpose?

What if you choose to stop living by their rules?

What if you stop blaming your parents, your culture, and your family?

What if you have the power to control how you think and feel?

What if you decide to take ownership and personal responsibility for your life?

What if you choose to live in a world of infinite resources and endless possibility?

What if everyday life is full of magic and wonder?

How will you live your life in that world of What If?

Good news
Just bought a Macbook Pro and am making a serious attempt at learning coding. Starting with Python. Using codeacademy.com and Stack Skills courses, pretty good so far.

I have zero coding or programming background and am extremely "right brained", so it's a bit of a slow learn right now. But I'll take this as far as I can. Some coding experience is a good hedge and skill for the future.

Coached girls' soccer in the 4-6 year old group for a year. One of the other team coaches was doing the 'serious drills' thing and you could see the kids were bored, sitting listening to him explain the drill. My kids' favourite drill I had them doing was "chase coach" where I just ran around and they had to run after me. They all ran like crazy to try and catch me and were laughing the whole time. If anybody asked I told them it was to teach them agility while running.

Started to relearn programs that I stopped using a long time ago such as Photoshop, Sony Vega, LMMS etc.
I also lost 17 pounds in 2 months, 20 more, and I'm back to where I was 3 years ago.
Also started to game again, it's wonderful. Since I am in college, i'm shooting for snapchats instead of phone #'s and girls are more receptive.
Also figured out why I am having some personal and academic problems. Summer was great.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Had an amazing summer back home after spending a year in India for school. Got 2 notches during the month, spent time with family, recconected with old friends and partied during frosh week at a college town notorious for its nightlife.

I also went on a couple dates with a girl I always had a soft spot for in highschool. The feelings were mutual back then but I never showed it and we were never really able to make anything of it because of stupid highschool shit that I thought was important at the time but in reality never mattered. I regretted it ever since and was determined to give it a shot no matter what the end result might be.

We kept in touch semi often through snapchat while i was in India and continued while I was home. Time passed and eventually it got to the last week of my break and I grew some balls and shot her a snapchat text asking what she was upto that week and that we should hang out sometime. At first she responded saying she had school starting that week, so I responded "Maybe next year then". After seeing that she changed up and invited me to come meet her downtown in a nearby major city; two days from then and that she'd show me around. I already had plans to go downtown another day that week to meet some friends, so i managed to squeeze her im during the evening.

After meeting up with my friends and being flaked on by another girl i was supposed to meet that day I give her a call at the time we decided on meeting up and we joke around on the phone while looking for and eventually finding each other.

She gives me a huge smile the moment she sees me and tried to move in closer for a hug which i side stepped at first only to hug her on her second attempt. The next bit of the day consisted of her showing me around the city, occassionally grabbing me by the arm to lead us around, and me telling stories of my travels while studying in india. All this eventually lead us to a bar where we shared a beer (she couldnt get her own as she was under legal drinking age), played pool and continued talking. I leaned i for a kiss and she pulled back here, i joked around about something similar happening between us in highschool when i first ever kissed her.

After the bar we continue walking around and eventually reach a park and sit down at a park looking up at the sky. I take the chance to tell her about how i missed the blue sky (indias pollution leaves a pretty constant grey cloud cover in major cities). We share a few more stories and then we head to drop her off at the subway since it was getting late. We say our goodbyes and give each other a hug which i then turn into a little makeout.

I tell her i had a great time and that this was it and i would maybe see her next year. She suggests we go out another day but i tell her i need a couple days to spend with just family before i head off to school again. She says that we can sneak out at night, and i say sure maybe.

She heads off home and i head to the college town where i party for the next 2 nights and gain my 3rd ever notch.

Got engaged. I know, that this community is mostly against this. Anyway I am not US, but Eastern European and I have nice femine girl with very traditional views and she seems to be very good future mother of my children. She totally enjoys doing everything for me.

It makes me happy. And if it won´t work out, it will be life lesson and then I will discourage young men from this on redpill forum (hopefully it will be rooshv).

I got demoted to the b team at my canoe club because I missed too many practices. Well I come to find out over the weekend one of my team mates baby was born with a hole in its heart. So now I'm back on the A team!!

The baby is gonna be a OK after a few months, so that's great news. I'm gonna be the greatest paddler ever on behalf of that little baby. Our whole team is dedicating our upcoming win to her.

From now until Oct 8th I have to be like a professional athlete in training. No beer, no late night antics, and no bitches.

Send me some positive vibes.

Aloha!

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
I return from partying (where i actually used to call her in the early hours of the morning to talk after partying) and its now the day before i leave. I spend time with my family and run some last minute errands and reach home towards the early evening. I hang around at home and decide to go sit in the backyard. Sitting there just trying to soak up as much of the night sky and cold fall breeze before leaving the next day.

At that moment something just pushes me to contact her, so i give her call joking, teasing, flirting, pushing for the previous plans and eventually telling her about my regret from highschool. I really did not want any regrets going back to school so i just laid everything out on the table. After talking on the phone for close to an hour plans are on and i pick her up close to midnight. We grab some warm drinks from a nearby coffee place and sit in the car. I look up through the open sunroof and remind her how much i love looking at stars. She suggests driving north so we can get a better look at them.

The idea sounded great so I decide to take her to one of my old schools from when i was a kid that was further north. After getting there i joke around by hiding in bushes trying to scare her and we then climb a nearby hill which i partially piggy backed her up. We get to the top and admire the view of both the stars and the nearby cities skyline. Constantly flirting and laughing the entire time, and there were points where all i could do was just stand and stare at her because i just lacked the words.

I lean in to kiss her and she pulls back, so i then just grab and hold her close. I tell her about how i know she probably thinks all i want is sex, im leaving for a year the next day, i dont care about her, this will never work, etc. Whereas in reality i really care for her, that if i could make something happen between us I would, and that i understand theres nothing we can really do about our situation.

Shes the right person for me, its just that we happened to meet at the wrong time.

We start making out for a bit after that and then go back down the hill and play around on some of the school yard equipment like slides and what not. We even started trying to dance salsa to some music on her phone in the kindergarden enclosure.

After a little while the weather was getting colder so we decided to go sit in the car to warm up. Im feeling quite hungry so i take us to a nearby fast food restaurant to grab a bite. We sit down and the shares some stories about what we see ourselves doing in the future, memories from highschool, and i play around by pretending i can palm read. I give her everything she wants to hear in my reading before telling her i was kidding and the face she made was just priceless.

We get back in the car and all the talk about the future made me start thinking about the past. I take her on a drive through the old neighbourhood i lived in and my old schools. She dowloaded songs i liked for me on her phone and kept playing them as we talked and i told her stories of when i was a kid. We talk about relationships and i tell her about how the physical aspects of dating were always easy to find but that special connection or spark was something i havent felt in years.

I ask about her relationships and turns out she hasnt dated andyone since elementary school, i was her first kiss in highschool.

I feel like doing something fun to get out of the emotional mood so i take us to a park she mentioned had a pretty cool playground.

We're having fun and one thing leads to another and we're making out, running hands under eachothers clothes laying in a jungle gym. I escalate moving my hands into her underwear where she grabs them. I do this a few other times holding her hands over her head 50 shades style with one hand and then going for the kill with the other. She breaks, smiles and says nice try snatching my hands away again.

I suspected she was still a virgin so i asked if im the only guy shes ever kissed earlier. Obvious answer no. Then after she snatched my hands as mentioned above i say " youre a virgin arent you" She nodds her head silently. i said i could tell. She then ask "Are you? Probably not right?" I say "I mean i could be one just for you". She smiles and gives a little laugh before i kiss her again. I would teaser her throughout leaning back as she leaned in to kiss me, asking how much she wanted it. She said she didnt want it at all, but her actions eventually proved otherwise.p

The entire time during the makeout, the escalation i couldnt stop breaking the makeout and just smiling because of how happy i was. I ask her if she remembered what i said about the spark being hard to find she says yes, I say i think i've found it.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
It was now around 5am, i spent six hours with this girl and it felt like six minutes. We head to the car and i take her home. I walk her to the side door where we find her pet dog, we take a few minutes to show that little guy some love before saying our goodbyes with a a tight hug and kiss. During that i mentioned that i didnt have anymore regrets and tonight was just a taste of what we couldve had if everything worked in the past. She corrects me saying "what shouldve". I tell her i really like her, i havent fallen in love yet but i still care for her, i told her i dont exoect her to say anyrhing in return. She says the fact that im leaving tomorrow makes it hard i agree. Ended it off with the tight hug. I tell her to take care and give her a smack on the ass as she walked inside telling her to take her pad off next time (she was on her period) which i felt through her shorts and she was to embarrassed to tell me about.

I didnt get the notch but i felt something better. I couldnt even cum for the girl i fucked 2 days earlier after going for almost an hour, blowing me and everything. This girl was able to give me something like a mental notch with how much i enjoyed my last day at home with her.

The next day i flew out and now im back here in school. Its hard to swallow the red pill knowing i could lose her while im here, some other dudes running through her if she jumps on the carousal, her not being the same in the future etc.

As a man i know my future is important and only a simp would abandon his career to chase a girl, but i cant help to find beuaty in these feelings since i havent felt them in so long. I've finally started seeing a girl who is more than just cum in and play with for a while until i can find another.

There you have it, I probably sound like some irrational beta with oneitis right now to you guys. Its hard knowing somethings might never be but its for the better to avoid pain down the road.

Today I sent positive vibes to Kona and the baby with the hole in his heart. Much success to Kona, his club and the baby's recovery.

Aloha!

Picked up a French hitchhiker in the north of the NZ south island today. Said he'd spent the last two months sleeping in a forest and had taken LSD everyday for the first six months he spent in NZ.

Interesting fella.

Made my day.

Out of curiosity, what was the website?

If you don't mind sharing.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
As of around 11 this morning, I have a new baby (half) brother.

His wife is younger than my sister and I.

That makes a 48 year difference between Dad's oldest child (my sister), and his youngest.

He's the kind of 65-year-old guy who posts a selfie on Facebook, only for smokin' girls a third his age to respond with things like this:

Makes sense I guess. He always looks like he's going to murder the camera. I guess if girls respond to big and mean and they're surrounded by Soy, age really doesn't seem to stop them any more.

Man, I have a little brother! Crazy!
