As others have pointed out, southeast Alaska is a little different, much more liberal. More similar to British Columbia or Washington State.

Alaska is in some respects the opposite of the rest of the country. The urban centers vote Republican and the most rural parts of the state vote Democrat. There are some issues where the state is uniformly "conservative" like on gun rights, but on others it is a mixed bag. Rural Alaska is a white-minority for the most part with a lot of native americans and asians. The fishing industry attracts a lot of asian immigrants as well as Hispanics and others.

This story broke before the state tournament and the online reactions were mixed. Many Alaskans, mostly conservative white men, were outspoken against a man competing against young women. The standard response by the social justice crowd is well the women don't care about this so why should you? Well, it's looking like some of them do indeed care, but I suspect they don't want to speak out against the socials tides.

BTW, about girls being raised like boys in Alaska, agreed 100%

Well it's coming to a head boys. All of these delusional leftards and social justice warriors crying about "equality," "acceptance," and whatever other benign contrived social injustices they can come up with are finally seeing what their misdirected and degenerate efforts have wrought.

We have predatory men legally going into girls' restrooms, cross dressing men winning woman of the year, and now men competing (and unsurprisingly dominating) in female sports. If women weren't being victimized, degraded, and marginalized before, well they sure as shit are now.

When women began to invade gentlemen's clubs and the like, those groups designed solely for men ending up falling apart. For the sake of progress, places and hobbies that existed to give men a place to be men and enjoy themselves were dismantled. However, spaces and clubs for women remained noticeably untouched.

Now the equality beast rears its ugly head in the direction of women, and they cannot hide their heads in the sand anymore. Women will have to choose between denying the guise of equality between the genders, or accept men masquerading as women and lose their privacy and all girls clubs as men have lost theirs.

I don't think they have a shot in soccer and especially pro baseball. A woman cannot throw a baseball hard enough to get basic outs at first base. I don't know if a woman can hit a 90+ MPH fastball either, but their liability on defense alone would be a no go. Baseball is so stubborn and old fashioned, they will be the last to try anything new at all.

In soccer the ball would get turned over the second a woman player touches it. Flopping aside, dudes would use their shoulders on the women players alot to make them give up the ball. If the women fall down alot it won't matter as long as the defender made a play on the ball first. It would look bad, but it is not illegal unless they change the rules for that too.

A professional female softball player can throw the ball to first based.

And the point is that playing left/right field, she'll rarely have to field the ball. She would be a liability, but only to the point of giving up a few extra hits or runs a game.

As far as batting, most pitchers hit like shit, and even the best players only hit 1/3rd of the time. Then you have designated hitters.

Yes, a woman would suck at pro baseball, but her weakness could still be hidden/made up for by a strong team.

It doesn't matter as much if one player strikes out every at bat when the rest of your rotation is good or you have a DH. It doesn't matter as much if your left fielder is shit if you have a good pitching and/or a strong midfielder.

A good pitcher could actually prevent batters from driving the ball left and a fast midfielder could cover a good portion of that area anyways. Especially if you push the mid and right fielders slightly over.

She doesn't have to dribble the ball, that's why I suggested putting her on defense.

All she has to do is get in the way if the ball gets back there and occasionally poke one loose or clear it just enough to get it out of the action.

If the rest of her team is strong enough, they could hide her weakness. In fact, she may not even have to do anything at all if the midfielders and strikers keep the ball on the other end of the field the whole game.

The defender has the advantage in soccer; even the best scorers are lucky to score 1 goal in a game. And you can play decent defense just with proper positioning and angles.

Basketball is a scoring game. She would get abused over and over again by her assignment. A woman would have no hope of staying in front of an NBA guard. It would create a huge whole in the defense that would be impossible to fill effectively.

To be clear, I'm not in any way claiming that a woman could compete directly with pro baseball or soccer players. Far from it.

But I've played all three of these sports organized growing up, and it would be a lot easier to hide a female player in a baseball or soccer game than on the basketball court.

That comes from both the strategy of each sport and the athleticism gap.

Two of the best WNBA players are Maya Moore and Candace Parker.

Moore is a 6' small forward. Parker is a 6'4" power forward/center.

Most NBA point guards are 6'3"+ and centers are around 7'.

Those women would get absolutely destroyed -- on offense, on defense, and in rebounding.

They would in baseball/soccer too. But there's no way to hide it in basketball. When there are only 5 players on the court, playing both offense and defense, a gaping hole at one position is a disaster. The opposing coach would take advantage of those matchups ALLLLLLLLL game long.

That being said, the one thing that would help women in basketball is easy substitutions. They could potentially just bring her in for three minutes, at non-critical points, and then sit her ass back down in a hurry.

But I'm talking from an actual playing perspective.

I disagree on your baseball take. I have watched enough college softball games to see the difference in arm strength. You got shortstops and outfielders in the MLB that can throw ~100 to first base or home plate. Often the difference between a minor leaguer and a major league player is who can throw someone out better than someone who is already on the roster and has a good enough batting avg. to come along with it. Believe it or not, that is HARD to find. Having one minor league guy in a major league team sticks out like a sore thumb. Dropping a flyout or unable to snatch a flyout can lose a game outright.

They have legislated contact out of basketball enough to open a door for a non defense playing person that can shoot well *cough* James Harden* ahem. The NBA is more of a jumpshot league than ever before. Of any big sport, the NBA is closest to blending sexes than the others are.

Every single male varsity college athlete would be the absolute best in the world at his sport among women aside from a few exceptions like distance running , tennis and maybe golf where a handful of women are top tier elite.

If this is really the road we're going down, then female athletics above the high school level will cease to exist. Obviously no prospective college male is gonna pretend to be a female for no reason but plenty of them will when there is a $100 thousand dollar education on the line, especially as this trans stuff becomes more and more normalized.
