On Bourdain Ive noticed that his older stuff he focused on hanging out with friends and getting wasted. Now that he is on CNN he tends to focus on social justice issues and victimhood, so much so that I cant even stand to watch him anymore.

Its a shame really because if he pulled his head out of his ass, started lifting, and bit the hand that feeds he could be a great face for our cause.

That the price he has to pay for CNN to give him money to do his show. The previous cable channels that supported his show decide not renew, since its cheaper to get another cooking show or reality show in the same time slot. I hope when his contract is over with CNN, he can move on to Amazon or Netflix to be free of pushing the narrative.

You made a great observation; what I've noticed likewise is that people who didn't get along with their same-sex parents or peers tend to "rebel" and identify more with the opposite sex.

e.x. Most "nice guys" had bad dads or were bullied so they rebel against their peers by acting more "gentlemanly and civilized", most "bad girls" had bad moms or were unpopular with their girl peers so they overcompensate by trying to act "stronger and more independent" than other women.

(Of course the end result is these guys end up looking like wimps, and these women end up looking like cheap hos and continue to receive the negative treatment by other members of their sex, reinforcing their mindset).

Not sure why people are ripping on Bourdain. He strikes me as a been there done that type of old guy. The person who pegged him as an old school liberal are probably right. I've met quite a few old guys abroad probably just like Bourdain including one legitimate vietnam vet who showed me his old pics. They tend to have a similar worldview and are mostly just chilled out, melancholic, and pretty open minded live and let live type of guys. When you dig deep they are fairly red pill about a lot of things which is why more than a few choose to live abroad after awhile.

He's obviously someone who lived a fairly adventurous life and overcame a lot of personal flaws to get where he was. If you read his book and hear him on interviews he was a serious addict (I believe heroin) and unapologetic whoremonger. He came out of that alive and did well for himself.

There's nothing about him or his show that glorifies foreign culture over America either. He just tends to hang out with a socially well connected locals and lets them talk about the positives and negatives of their own society. His commentary is pretty balanced most of the time.

His knowledge of local food is definitely on point too especially with regards to Asia. He knows what he's talking about.
