I think we may be assuming he's famous EVERYWHERE. Outside the US I'm not so sure a lot of people know him. He could roll into a club in Rome and everyone would just think he's an old man.

Or you could be gay and just using the above kind of talk to overcompensate and hide your preference.

Seriously, your line above are the kind of easy explaination that confirms your own world view while deeming everything else as abnormal. It's exactly the kind of mentality I was calling out in the post you quoted.

I disagree - If you believe that every man wants to or should be gaming women then you're judgement is very clouded in my opinion. I know plenty of guys who are either single and not pursuing women, LTR/married and are perfectly content. To each their own.

Come on man, looks cant be the only reason you could find as to why someone marries a woman.

And she is not goddess-looking, but neither she is for the dogs. I certainly can see her passing Bourdains boner test, and I dont see a reason as to why she wouldnt pass mine.

Quote:The fact that his wife is proper tells you this guy isn't broken.

Proper is the word. With the great life this guy has, and after all he has been through, Im sure the man just want to sit back and relax with a nice, intellectually challenging woman by his side.

Plus, when you can have a fickle under 21 girl anytime you want, why would you keep one at home?

Quote:I bet if he kept her there she would be sitting at a cafe in Italy, drinking espresso, smoking a cigarette, dressed to the nines in high heels like a lady.

Any woman can upgrade herself by a couple digits when she dresses like a lady. Any woman who doesn't bother to, doesn't deserves any attention.

If she wants to dress like a slob, let her be. She can go be fucked by a beta and have beta babies.

huge anthony bourdain fan. his books are a must read and have influenced me greatly. i still think he has one of the most entertaining voices in literature.

that new show "the layover" on the travel channel is one of the only shows on cable tv that i'll sit down and enjoy watching. his sharp personality translates well to the tv screen.

If you watch the show religiously or read his interviews, she's kind of a bitch. She's into MMA, and he often japes that she could kick his ass.

I don't know about Russian Supermodels or Vietnamese hookers (he loves Vietnam), but he could definitely find a young, skinny, foodie chick given how popular he is.

Perfect evidence of why you don't want to bring a foreign wife to America. They become Americanized (ie douchebag clothes, cell phone constantly in hand, throwing up phony gang signs, and sticking out tongues).

I bet if he kept her there she would be sitting at a cafe in Italy, drinking espresso, smoking a
cigarette, dressed to the nines in high heels like a lady
.

Soooo true. But, as the expression goes " when in Rome". She hopefully won't assume the other bad habits of American women.

RE: The Bourdain thread
I think Bourdain did alright for himself. First, the second wife isn't American (I wonder if that was by design on his part. Being that he travels the world and interacts with people from all over, maybe so), and I think he did all the wild shit he needed to do, and needed to ground himself a little. Have someone to come home to after his work on the road. Having a wife that you can really talk to, and also a little girl that you love and loves you to death was what he needed at that stage of his life.

Some perspective is needed here guys.

He was a homeless drug addict at one point.

Now he is a successful author, travels the world, smokes, drinks, eats at the best restaurants, knows everyone, and has arguably the only watchable show on television.

I can barely think of a better success story.

Homeboy is The American Dream.

The Anthony Bourdain Thread (RIP)
Anthony Bourdain's 2nd wife, Ottavia, is from Italy.

Being considerably younger than him she was supposed to be his trophy wife.

But somewhere along their married timeline, something went kooky and right after she became a new mom she started exercising her inner demons.

I'm not asking about Anthony's role in this, even though he's a genuine bleeding heart liberal, he also seems genuine in other aspects. Since women take ("shape of") whatever their partner gives them it's undeniable that Anthony plays crucial "enabler" role in the type of behavior exhibited by his trophy wife. He's probably too fucked up from unsteady (past) life to even care at this point. Maybe this kind of shit even gets him off. (Next book: Cuck Confidential)

I'm sure the two of them are having a laff about it all, believing like all delusionals do that they share certain something special that the rest of us can't understand...

But still, one can not help but wonder what kind of mother/wife/person, what kind of lower intelligence with absence of all scruple puts this kind of image in public on her own, and finds it self-fulfilling?

And she's supposed to know better, you know, being a foreigner from the old (cultured) world.

Of all the things a woman can do with her current privileged life, this is the very best thing a woman can come up with?

What a telling sign of a general cultural decay and malaise.

The Titanic is sinking... and the orchestra is scratching hip-hop.

She's probably banging the dude she's sitting next to:

His elbow is resting on her thigh and she's leaned into him. Only thing missing is her arm wrapped around the guy's shoulder.

So Bourdain's wife is bigger than him, and he hates Trump...

Bourdain gets on my nerves with his incessant 'everywhere is better and more cultured than the United States' shtick, so I hope she wears a strap-on and hate-fucks him for being an American.

Not to bash BJJ, but at his age the biggest problem is muscle loss. He should be lifting weights, but then again I suspect he's doing BJJ to keep an eye on his wife who he probably doesn't trust.

RE: What is up with Anthony Bourdain's wife?
This happens more than you think. It isn't foolproof to import a young bride to America. I know of to many stories of girls from abroad going nutty when coming to America/Canada after they pop out a kid. Something can fry her inner wires up, I have no clue what the specefics may be.

Bourdain likely did not keep the homestead on lockdown. A reformed crack head who is now a workaholic, the wife probably went kooky during a long weekend alone with the kid. You gotta do more then just fly her to Italy once a year. Likely has a weak frame at home.

I like the guy though. He seems like a old school liberal whom you could at least have some dialogue with. I got no issues with his types.

What will happen though when his bride wants to get to that "next level" and gets he wake up call she has to take gear and shit. Will she still be in love with that MMA life? Plus what about the child? You know her wires are crossed as she is obsessed over dungeon gyms versus her child.

Only in America.

I'd put money he isn't actually training 5 days per week, sometimes two times per day.

That's hard as fuck for a 20 year old, let alone a weak old pussy like Bourdain.

RE: What is up with Anthony Bourdain's wife?
You can just tell from listening to and watching Bourdain that he hates PC culture. Hates it. His book, "Kitchen Confidential" shows that he knows how the real world works.

But he's had to suppress his masculine, traditionalist instincts in order to get and keep his show. He's had to sell out, and it's killing him. I feel you, Anthony. I know you hate the whole lying system.

And it's wearing on him. His neomasculine awakening is still in his future, but he hasn't quite gotten there yet.

He needs to break out of his chains and find his real self. Break them! Smash them! Release yourself!

And once that happens, he won't even need this woman. He'll know--not think, but KNOW--that there are tons more where she came from.
