I'll present the opposing view. Anthony was on blood pressure meds, statens, poor health (from the many mentioned crazy life he lived). He followed his wife's footsteps and started doing BJJ and it flipped the script. He's healthy, off meds, now a successful BJJ artist, etc...a 59 year old living a good life of travel, wealth, and...well yeah, a crazy BJJ wife who gets fucked by her trainers/trainees.

So yeah, everything everybody here has said is true and relevant. And yes, for being a successful chef most of his life and media personality, he could do better I suppose.

At the same time, for a successful guy who's lived a crazy life that led to poor health, she's probably good for him and keeps him grounded and pounded.

Later in life becomes decreasing morbidity and pushing back mortality. For him, that's what she does.

Disagree, being made a cuck will have a negative impact his health, regardless of how ripped his abs are. He's agonizing inside, at some level, even if he's in denial. Besides, he was already settling down, all set financially and chilling out, it's not like he's snorting coke and clubbing every night in his late 50s. He didn't need a raging slut to sort his health out.

This looks like a textbook case of a wife from a better-adjusted foreign culture who moves here and becomes americanized in the worst possible way, shedding her original Catholic Italian cultural values and picking up the most toxic elements of modern western culture. She started out as a respectable 7 and turned into a trashy one.

Bourdain fell in love with her culture as much as her, he got enamored with the al fresco family meals and the warm, healthy atmosphere of her extended family, similar to his own original culture from southwestern France. Slightly off topic but almost every no-gi style BJJ practioner, is technically not very good at BJJ. Look at all the guys that started out learning it with the gi then transitioned to no-gi and you have your proof. (BJ Penn, GSP, Frank Mir, The Diaz Brothers, Antonio Nogueira/Mario Sperry, Eddie Bravo etc. etc.)

Traditional style forces you to do the techniques correctly until you are a zombie doing it. All these new-age BJJ guys never want to train with the gi because they want to be more ready for MMA or think the gi is old fashioned. If that was the case why is anyone who started out with a gi, more advanced on the ground without one, than someone who did not?

I'm not saying no-gi is garbage, but there is a time and place for both styles. Beginners in my opinion should train with the gi 75% of the time and slowly introduced to no-gi gradually with belt rank increases.

This woman is obviously doing it for attention and validation. She isn't serious about it. Her husband is wearing the gi. You can tell by her constant use of NAGA style body tights. She thinks it makes her look sexy. If there is not a tornament going on, why wear all that? If mat ringworms are her concern, then she should fucking help clean the god damned mat or stop being nasty (the guys included).

First off, Bourdain is a very hedonistic person -- if he were to confess to being bi, it would not surprise me in the least. He likes the finer things in life, be they what they be...meat, veggies, man, woman...he is probably trying them all.

If he is bi, well, yes, that explains a lot. She is the bait to get buff MMA dudes into his bed.

Second, he is almost 60, and she is considerably younger. He is likely not interested in raising a huge family and thus mate guarding. A little backstory:

Tony's first marriage, to his high school sweetheart who he described as "his partner in crime" lasted 20 years - until, of course, he got famous and started traveling extensively. They split in 2004, and the divorce finalized in 2007. I've never heard much detail on the divorce itself, but as he recounts in Medium Raw, the collapse of the marriage saw him whoring and boozing through the Caribbean, during which time he also admits to drunk driving and suicidal ideation. That should give you some idea of just how badly he took it.

Even so, he's famous, he's wealthy, he's got the Tall-Dark-Handsome triad going, and he has one of the best jobs a heterosexual male could ask for.

So what the hell is he doing with a tatted-up, Gina Carano-idolizing butterface with zero body fat?

The short answer is that his best friend, a French chef named Eric Ripert, set up a blind date with a girl working at one of his restaurants. Having worked with Bourdain for a good chunk of his career, Ripert knows him very well. He knows fast young pussy is not something Tony is hurting for, either. So he went the old school way, found a girl that wasn't going to be making Jennifer Lawrence jealous but who he knew his friend would have immediate chemistry with, and sure enough...

The long answer, though, and here's why I try to get all AnonymousBosch...

I really think it boils down to Tony basically dating a version of himself, or rather himself if none of the last 16 years had happened. It's not hard to imagine that Ottavia is basically who he'd be if Kitchen Confidential had flopped and he hadn't become famous: just a general manager working at a good restaurant, a smoker, a drinker, a foodie, and a partyer with next to no spare time. No fame, no celebrity, no wealth. All hard edges and no soft curves. Zero bullshit personality. (Ottavia is notoriously blunt. That's probably something else Ripert picked up on as a quality Bourdain would find attractive.) And "dysfunctional", which is the word Bourdain himself used to describe the both of them. It's a word he usually reserves only for himself.

That theory makes a little more sense when you consider how much Bourdain simultaneously loves and despises his fame. I still remember when he first got to CNN, and he had to give the most bullshit laugh in the history of bullshit laughter at a crappy joke by Wolf Blitzer. (I think it was "You know Tony, we do a lot of grilling in the Situation Room!") You could hear the anguish in his soul. He spent all his life mocking the artifice of celebrity and now he is a celebrity and he can't get anywhere without participating in that artifice. You know that word, "sellout", is one he hears a lot. His humor can only deflect so much of it.

So, Bourdain is probably happy to spend time with a woman who reminds him of himself, removed from most of the spotlight and who's doing her own thing rather than falling into globetrotting culinary adventure the way he did.

Besides, when Bourdain got back from being trapped in Libya, the first thing Ottavia did was make a baby with him. Yeah, she not only fucked him like he got back from a war (literally true) but gave him a child. On a primal level, that's something that secures a man's loyalty.

All that said - I buy Roosh's analysis completely. That's pretty damning behavior and body language, and you can definitely see the escalation over time on her Instagram. It'd be a shame if she's fooling around on him. She's the mother of his child and he seems to have fun hanging out with her, in a way he didn't own up to before. But any time your wife takes up a sport or hobby that involves intense, intimate physical activity with other men, you are walking a razor thin line. No way I could allow it.

Only a matter of time before it starts getting really overt. I hope Tony gets a handle on this.

As a fan of much of Anthony Bourdain's work on food and travel, I'm disgusted and sad to see this. It's almost certain that she's making a cuckold of him given the evidence presented.
