Not defending May, but that Telegraph article may have been pulled due to too many factual errors. Not saying I know for sure, but the telegraph is a pretty good publication and they take journalistic integrity very seriously. The editors may have realized there was too much bullshit in there and just pulled the whole thing.

That's ridiculous. They should not even be debating it.

She cut family benefits and shelters which benefited womens health, well-being and security from abusive partners. This is a woman who is now in charge of a country which wants to be free from EU political rule, who sold her own sex down the toilet for whatever reasons.
I may be misunderstanding you, but it seems like you are saying she cut funding to govt programs set to "help women".
If so, GREAT! That sounds like a big net benefit to all citizens.
The state is an inefficient provider of services, and on top of that it is doing so with stolen (tax) money.
Also, the aims of such programs rarely (if ever) match the results.
A program called "The Digestive Care Aid Act For Bowel Wellness" usually consists of a rusty extra-large drill bit shoved up your ass.
As a final note, such programs -- in order to justify their existence -- will constantly move the goalposts on what "abusive partners" means, so they can continually have a new "problem" to "solve".
Not a scenario that benefits sexual relations or women, really.
You're hoping so hard this woman will be another Thatcher. Thatcher managed to crush union power, May couldn't even get terrorists deported without asking for permission from a body not of this country.
She was for Britain remaining In the EU and then goes after her own through cuts to services that were proven to help vulnerable women. Must be another poster with a chip on his shoulder towards women.
Just because women get it easy and men don't get preferential treatment doesn't mean they should be thrown out on their arse by a childless woman who now holds the highest office in the UK.
She was FOR Brussels and got into power!

No vote from the Tory grassroots and that pissed them off. We are given a PM nobody voted for.
People hoping for a change at the top do not know politics of the UK and Europe. Its the biggest crock of shit in a decade.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:The European Economic Community (EEC) was a regional organisation which aimed to bring about economic integration among its member states. It was created by the Treaty of Rome of 1957. Upon the formation of the European Union (EU) in 1993, the EEC was incorporated and renamed as the European Community (EC). In 2009 the EC's institutions were absorbed into the EU's wider framework and the community ceased to exist. The EEC was also known as the Common Market in the English-speaking countries and sometimes referred to as the European Community even before it was officially renamed as such in 1993.

It is quite extraordinary that Theresa May has been made leader by the MPs. She is a modern day Gerald Ratner. People seem to forget that she was the one who branded her own party the 'nasty party'. Somehow she's been rewarded for this with the keys to the kingdom. The Blairite self-loathing is particularly strong in the Conservative Party these days, it would seem.

This is one of the character traits of a cuckold.
I'm not to sure what to think of her but it is interesting to note that paddy power are doing odds on the next PERMANENT PM after Cameron and May does not even appear on it. Do they know something we don't, i.e. a general this year, next year etc.

Might be that they never updated the text to say Mar instead of Cameron.

Rudd and Greening are two of the lowest calibre women you could find. Chris Grayling for possible chancellor is a surprise, but a welcome one. He is, broadly speaking, competent. He was also a prominent Brexiteer.
May's first cabinate, which should be announced this evening, will tell us an awful lot about her. It should be fascinating.

I don't know why anyone would think that we're getting another Margaret Thatcher just because May is a woman, any more than we got another Winston Churchill when Gordon Brown followed Blair as unelected PM.
If she's smart she'll call a General Election later this year/early next year and wipe Labour from the political landscape for a generation.
Nice to see that her first priority in the face of economic uncertainty, uncontrolled migration and the biggest political decision in 40+ years is to worry about the sex of the cabinet ministers.

Misogyny is now a hate crime. I can be accused of a hate crime for hitting on a woman who doesn't fancy me. Holy shit, what a time to be alive.
I'm beginning to get the feeling that Brexit won't happen.
They'll talk about invoking article 50, but hold it off until some election intervenes and then it'll be "pending" indefinitely.

I'd guess that this is a ploy to quell the ongoing whine for such a parliamentary debate by the sore losers, and thus to eliminate this protest going forward; and therefore further shore up the political legitimacy of Brexit at both the legal and the popular levels. I'd also guess that the outcome is predetermined because not Brexiting is politically untenable.
It's the necessity of participating in this type of charade that probably makes being an MP suck. Imagine being a liberal MP that needs to put on a passionate show, knowing full well the outcome. The Euroskeptic MPs could probably could show up drunk and still win.

I am pretty certain that they will invoke it, what remains to be seen is what happens once that is done. I think that is where the backsliding and political maneuvering will happen. We could trigger Article 50 and still end up in a very similar situation to the one we are in today with regards to our relationship with Europe.
I think even the politicians will be aware of just how dangerous it would be not to invoke it. Although we don't, in our system, vote directly for a PM at a general election, one is obviously mindful of who, ultimately, will be in charge. The opportunity for the electorate, or a proportion of it, to pass judgement on May has been denied quite deliberately. To compound this by ignoring the will of the people could very well be enough to rouse the Anglo Saxon from his slumber. These events, in combination, would be such an overtly anti-democratic act, that it would forever destroy the electability of those involved. And if you are a career politician, you can't afford to derail the gravy train like that.

Easy win in a debate with leftists if they try to say that the conservatives discriminate against women. Just say, "The Tories have appointed two women PMs. How many have labour or the other progressive parties had?"

New cabinet announced. PM, Chancellor, and Home Secretary all Europhiles - especially the ghastly and quite poisonous Amber Rudd.
By itself, this would be very annoying. May has been fairly shrewd though, it would seem. She has appointed BoJo as Foreign Secretary, and created two new cabinet positions. The first is Secretary of State for International Trade, which has gone to Liam Fox. The second, and most interesting, is the Secretary of State for Exiting the EU, which she has given to David Davis.
All of these appointments, credit to May's shrewdness, are win-win for her.
Boris will be a great and charismatic ambassador for the UK. This position also means that he will be constantly rubbing up against his counterparts from the EU, and no doubt, as a man with a pathological need to be liked, this will be actually quite a tortuous experience for him. May makes a perfectly sensible and popular appointment, hands an olive branch to the chap most likely to whip the PM's seat out from under her, keeps him close, but also ensures he tastes a little bitterness.
Liam Fox is, despite his misjudgement with his aide in 2011, an extremely competent chap, a staunch Eurosceptic, and another aspiring leader given an olive branch but kept on a tight leash, in a position whereby there is a good deal of pressure on him to deliver - failure would see the buck stop firmly with him. May would be fairly insulated from any consequences I suspect.
David Davis, to May's great credit, is a genuinely excellent appointment. A man of great character and ability. Ex-special forces, a council estate boy from a single mother, who really made himself into a very fine man indeed. Another chap who has run for the leadership of the Tory party. Were he more inclined to play the politics game, he would have probably beaten Cameron to the nomination in 2005. Not only is he extremely able and dignified, he represents the aspirational face of the ordinary working Briton, and is perhaps the best person the Tories could have brought forward for their vision of what Britain should be about. David Davis, is *the* right man to orchestrate Brexit. 7
May has, rather impressively, created something of a Brexit dream team, full of heavy hitters, whilst ensuring that she is insulated as far as possible from any fallout that will inevitably arise as the process gets under way. She has many of the credible threats to her legitimacy in the cabinet, thus bolstering her own mandate.
It's a really very shrewd piece of politics. Time will tell whether it is more style than substance, but for the moment I'm relatively optimistic.
Her only real misjudgement is Amber Rudd, who I suspect will fail May before too long, as she is a singularly limited woman with nothing substantial to add to anything.

That explains everything
Boris Johnson is now part of the government cabinet has been made the new UK foreign secretary.
I predicted this on page 73 of this thread 2 weeks ago on the 30th of June 2016, when I said this, after he declared he wouldn't run as a candidate for leader of the Tory party:

Like I said 2 weeks ago,
do not underestimate Boris.
He is a lot tougher and smarter than many people give him credit for.
