RE: Marriage in the 21st Century
Borrowing something from MikeCF, that pretty much sums up the RVF:
"Once upon a time, a Prince asked a beautiful Princess, "Will you marry me?"
The Princess said NO and the Prince lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and fucked skinny big titted broads and hunted and raced cars and went to naked bars and dated women half his age and drank whiskey, beer and Captain Morgan and never heard bitching and never paid child support or alimony and ate pussies and ass fucked cheerleaders and kept his house and guns and never got cheated on while he was at work and all his friends and family thought he was fuckin cool as hell and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up ..... The end"

The "marriage is unfair" waaaaambulance crowd should really try to sound less feminine and less butthurt. Horrendous divorce statistics exist not just for feminine cultural reasons but because the average beta bux simp is in fact a beta bux simp, and he can't exactly blame his wife for treating him like a beta bux simp if he acts like a beta bux simp.
I've gone back and forth on this issue. I previously agreed with what Leonard posted, but lately I'm more skeptical. I now think that among long married couples who avoid divorce and stay together for life, the husband is starved for sex, and the wife is overly bitchy in 80 to 90% of cases.
Also, even if the wife is raised with a good father, and remains devoutly religious, the general culture will corrupt her eventually, with a high risk of divorce rape.
I agree in theory that a superior red pill man could conceivably maintain hand and sustain a happy relationship, but unless he's super exceptional, he will stumble and lose frame eventually. In practice, for most men, even red pill men, marriage will either end in divorce, or end with the man accepting infrequent sex and regular disrespect.

I thought one of the theories commonly propagated in the manosphere is that the majority of men have to be betas, because otherwise there would be too many chiefs and not enough Indians; and that in order for these betas to have a reason to be productive (rather than just sitting in a basement masturbating to porn), alphas needed to be limited to monogamy, and women needed to be forced to marry (and remain married to) betas? The theory continues, that if alphas and women are set free to do whatever they want, alphas will naturally tend to accumulate harems, while betas will essentially be demoted to omega status.
But let's suppose it's possible for all men to be alphas. Won't there still be some women in the population who aren't very good wife material? If so, that leaves a certain percentage of men who have to stay single or make do with what's available. If marriage and divorce laws were fair, then the wife's betrayal would at least not deprive him of his opportunity to raise his kids. (Given that about 20% of the male population tends to be omegas, this would theoretically be a moot point; but who knows, maybe in today's society, the percentage of unmarriageable young women is higher than 20%.)
What I think creates long-lasting resentment in red pill guys is the fact that they still have to continue dealing with the consequences of the blunders that blue pill conditioning led them into. Maybe they made a bad choice about which woman to wife up, and now they don't get to have a relationship with their kid, because ingestion of the red pill came too late.

Who do you think are the ones at the other end of the divorce statistics where no divorce takes place? There are entire middle class suburbs where married men and women raise kids and then retire together. At the other end of the spectrum there are idiots who get married and divorced 5 times in 10 years. To the statistician that means that most people are getting divorced if you don't bother to look at it in detail.
It does not take a "super exceptional" man to make a marriage work or even make sure his wife keeps putting out. I know tons of guys that are still fucking their wives after two decades of marriage and more, and they're not all carbon copies of Vince McMahon either.
So does this mean we don't need to reform our laws or culture concerning divorce, since men can just behave as alphas and get all the pussy and loyalty they want from their wives?
Cars should run on half as much gasoline as they currently do. It's not fair that we have to buy so much fuel.
So... what? Don't buy a car until they make them more economical because it's "not fair"?
If guys really want to get married then they should stop bitching about the current culture, sack up, accept the higher difficulty rating and meet the challenge.
If guys don't want to get married then they should butt out.
What guys shouldn't do is endlessly whine that society is making it a little harder or more complicated to have something that they want.
I want a fucking Ferrari. I'm not willing to put in the effort to get it. Should I start whining that Ferraris are too expensive? That I shouldn't bother saving and saving and saving to buy my Ferrari only to have it wiped out because 13 out of every 10 drivers have their car's wrecked by drunk drivers per minute?
It's feminine and it's weak. If you want something badly enough you take it. If you don't want it badly enough you walk away. What you don't do is sit on the sidelines and complain.
If you're planning on "fixing" marriage laws before you get married then don't hold your breath. Society gets fixed by do-ers. Not whiners.

I would also ask, If you're that alpha, why would you need to get married anyway? Another common manosphere trope is that to women, five minutes of alpha is worth five years of beta. In other words, alphas are so sought-after by women that they don't even need to offer commitment. Women will just open their legs to them for free because they like to be with them, even if it's only temporarily, and even if there will be long-term consequences for "wasting" those years when they were in their prime.
According to this theory, all that prevents women from banging alphas outside of wedlock for as long as the alpha wants to be with them, is that society puts a gun to the alpha's head and says, "You have to marry this woman you deflowered (or knocked up)."

RE: Marriage in the 21st Century
Good post, Leonard, but it's kind of amazing that getting married, which used to be as normal as getting a job, is now being compared to owning a Ferrari.
It's terrifying how much of what older generations took for granted is now beyond the reach of so many people. I noticed this in the thread on home ownership and avocados a while back, where people were saying "Sure, you can own a home. You just need to work 10 hours of overtime a week, forever!"
I can't wait until I'm out of this place. Just gotta get my health a little more stable, and I'm fucking gone...
Got neck and shoulder pain from bad posture? Why not try these stretches?

RE: Marriage in the 21st Century
While there's a grain of truth to things like this, the exaggeration reeks of incredible bitterness on the author's end. Women are not diabolical monsters waiting to wreck some guy's life. Nor is marriage any sort of happily-ever-after, undying love scenario as the mainstream would have you believe. The truth is in between.
Yes the divorce rate is high, but that's mostly driven by impulsive morons who don't fully consider the consequences of their decisions. The vast majority of married couples who have college degrees remain together.
Men should absolutely exercise caution when it comes to marriage, that's not up for debate. But viewing women in such an adversarial way as these comics in the OP is unhealthy and simply wrong.
Also, I feel sorry for any man who believes that MikeCF quote, that single life will consist of fucking cheerleaders left and right. If you put exceptional work into lifting and improving your game, and I'm talking top 1% here, then maybe you can pull off that type of lifestyle into your early 40's, after which you have half a life to live with no family, no companion, no children to raise, limited energy, and little ability to make bangable girls take you seriously. The average man, of course, will never get a whiff of hot cheerleader pussy at any point in his life.
In summary, don't believe mainstream fairy tales about marriage, but don't believe "red pill" fairy tales about single life either.

One person is not a statistically significant sample size.
"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.
Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector."

Im in my early 40s, i will get married and have kids maybe, but not yet, because i know I dont have to. I can get a companion at any age, I lift and enjoy bettering myself but I am not exceptional, limited energy?? My dad who married an amazing woman, my mother is 73 and has more energy than my 22 year old nephew. I was never above average, though perhaps i am now as the bar for other men is so low. I have never been interested in cheerleaders but at many points in my life i have had better wiffs. I have more ability to make bangable girls take me seriously now than i did 20 years ago. This is where im at, no reason others cant be too, not sure what it will be like in ten years time. Each to their own.
Mikes quote is a bit of fun is all, I do agree with you about women and marriage, many of them are great and it will never be all roses, that cartoon does also reek of a bitter loser.

Why is single family homeownership necessary? Why not just cram the whole extended family into one house so that multiple breadwinners can contribute toward paying the expenses? That's how the Mexican immigrants are able to have a bunch of kids without going broke.
Society has lost its sense of balance, because on the one hand, we have the welfare queen who never accomplish anything besides having kids; and on the other hand, we have the "successful" middle class career men and women who think it would be foolish or irresponsible to reproduce till their situation is just right. But actually, there are so many social safety nets that there's not much to worry about. If all else fails, the government and the charities have your back. You can even behave recklessly and they'll be there for you.
