West Indian Cricketer gets slammed for asking out reporter on air by PC Aussie media

What was said

Quote:"I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well," Gayle said to McLaughlin, when asked about how aggressively he had batted. "That's the reason why I'm here, just to see your eyes for the first time. It's nice so. Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don't blush, baby."

Quote:Melbourne Renegades' chief executive Stuart Coventry echoed Everard's comments, saying "there is just no place for that sort of behavior".

Other times he has flirted with reporters

Quote:In July 2014, when asked by a female reporter during the Caribbean Premier League about the surface the Jamaica Tallawahs, who he was captaining, would be playing on in their next game, Gayle responded: "Well, I haven't touched yours yet so I don't know how it feels."

Gayle lacks discretion as it is definitely not classy to ask a reporter on air to to a drinks... but she is a reporter, she should have has some sort of social coy in playfully defending herself

Still really funny how the media makes such a big deal out harmless flirting

I don't know about any of that, but your avatar kind of weirds me out.

TLDR; media is overreacting as usual.

Things aren't going to change for the western society. It's too late for us.

If you want it to, move south.

Unless you're in Australia, then I guess you go 16,000km east

The difference between inappropriate, creepy behavior and cute, charming behavior is whether or not the woman finds you attractive.

The broad in question.

I wouldn't quite describe it as "funny". Worringly, it reveals how misandric the Anglosphere has now become, that some innocent, flirty banter stirs up a media shit storm, with the Jamaican guy in question being guilty of "inappropriate behaviour" towards this broad. So, the take-away from this is that any attention a woman receives from a man she doesn't get the tingles for is "inappropriate behaviour".

This is an ominous sign for legislation yet to come in countries such as Canada and Australia, where innocent flirtation from men will in future be designated at first as "inappropriate behaviour" and later as sexual harassment; except, of course, in those cases where the girl happens to already have the hots for the guy. This development betrays the true misandric intent behind so-called "third wave" feminism - to exert maximal control over male sexuality whilst minimising the constraints on the exercise of women's.

Video in question here:

It was obvious dude was joking. But once again people with literally shit going on in their life are all up in arms saying he disrespected and belittled her. If she got offended by those weakly flirtatious remarks, bitch needs to find a new job.

RE: West Indian Cricketer gets slammed for asking out reporter on air by PC Aussie media
Gayle is a Jamaican who is used to interacting with women who have a bit more femininity, a better sense of humor, and a stronger propensity to appreciate male expressions of masculinity. He's just a product of his environment, one that is much warmer and much less hostile to masculinity than the one he now works in.

When one has spent a sufficient amount of time in those colder environments (Gayle's experience with them is still somewhat limited), you learn a simple lesson: when faced with cold, humorless women who are prone to reactions like this (women who are very common in many of the more progressive portions of the anglosphere), the best solution is simply not to deal with them at all. Beyond essential interactions necessitated by work or other unavoidable factors, keep as distant as you can and leave them be. Ironically, this may result in some of them complaining (usually discreetly, but sometimes openly if they're bold enough) about the fact that you don't pay them any mind, but that's a fair price to pay. Their propensity to pathologize even innocuous expressions of masculinity makes any extended interaction with them a risk not worth taking.

The only reason McLaughlin reacted the way she did was because she was live on-air to hundreds of thousands of people and did not want to reveal her true nature. She is a female sports presenter, for fuck's sake. If her and Gayle had met at a function or party she would have been squatting on his dick by midnight or earlier.

She got divorced from her no-name musician husband of two years a while back and would have been riding the cock carousel hard since then. Like all hamsters, she only lets the public know what she wants them to know.

That sucks..he apologized. Thought a " no fucks given" alpha like him would stand his ground

EDIT :but understandable since if he did not apologize, his career would end and so would the supply of pussy.

In 2016 we'll see more black, Indian, and Asian men targeted by the mob since white men have either wised up to the game or become too pussified. Throwing the racist label at SJWs will be very effective since being called one is their greatest fear.

This is the biggest news piece of the day in Australia.

Yesterday it was about the immigration Minister calling a female journalist a 'mad fucking witch'. He accidentally sent the text message about her to the journalist herself.

This was in response to a piece she wrote on the weekend about the inaaprioate and sexist behaviour of the cities Minister's unwanted advances towards a young female public servant on a diplomatic trip.

Almost everyday now....

Hitting on a female reporter live on air was never going to end well, I don't know what he was thinking. It was always going to be seen as a case of chauvinistic sportsmen behaviour which would only help the reporters career and harm Gayle. It's basically the journalist version of a sex tape, she was relatively unknown before this happened but now she's front page (and probably back page) news.
Considering the current climate I think Gayle got away lightly but then we do love our sports stars here in Australia. If it had been a businessman or politician they'd have had to resign.

If he really was into her and hit on her off air she'd probably have responded positively but on air it just comes across as unprofessional.

It's disgusting the way she objectifies men.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

Although, he probably has 10 different phone no.s per city he could
contact, even though he doesn't live here.
So he could afford to hedge his bets with the reporter.

RE: West Indian Cricketer gets slammed for asking out reporter on air by PC Aussie media
What is also ironic about this whole thing is the nature of the job we're talking about. This is a female sports reporter working in an industry where looks are central to success. The media doesn't merely look for women who like to talk about sports and put them on TV. It looks for attractive women who like to talk about sports and puts them on TV. There is a clear selection bias centered on physical appearance, which is why the female reporters you find on TV tend to be attractive and their success/popularity is so often correlated with their looks. The industry and the public want good looks and obsess over them, and that's what they get.

Yet when someone dares to comment on (or, in this case, make a joke about) those looks, these same people want to pretend that it is some sort of national tragedy.

"How dare he comment on her looks! She's here to do a serious job!"

Yeah, as if this industry would have allowed her to do her "serious job" if she looked like Rosie O'Donnell.

If they were really that serious about looks not being important, we'd see more diversity of physical appearance in her field. But we don't, do we?

Her existence in her current capacity and her popularity is tied directly to her physical appearance. She was hired in large part because of her looks and persists in large part because of them. Given these realities, does it make any sense for folks to get so upset when someone dares to notice her appearance? Is it odd to notice the physical appearance of someone working in an industry where physical appearance is central to career progress, longevity, and overall popularity/success? I really don't see how but, then again, I'm not a western progressive.

I have to big up Chris Gayle for showing such restraint in that apology video. I could feel his frustration at how absurd this whole fiasco is and how overblown it has become. You can see in his eyes just how annoyed he is, and I really and truly feel the same way (probably because I'm coming from a similar cultural perspective). Hopefully he's learned his lesson and will a) be a bit more limited in his engagement with the Australian media (the less you say, the less there is to hold against you; also, given the way they're dragging you through the mud now, they frankly don't deserve your time or attention) and b) limit his dealings with Australian women (with a few very carefully chosen exceptions for those few who lack a disdain/fear/outright hatred of masculinity) and keep his contact/conversations with them to a minimum (less contact = less risk of having innocuous interactions blow up in your face and cost you money). You're a multi-millionaire and there are many better options around the world - these women aren't worth the risk. If they want to be left alone, leave them be and go do better.

RE: West Indian Cricketer gets slammed for asking out reporter on air by PC Aussie media
Great post on this topic by TLP some years ago:

Quote:"I don't want to be thought of only as a sex object." You don't see the irony of your thinking. You want people to have a certain thought, yet you also demand that they don't only have a certain thought. You're trying to control their minds just as much as you claim they're labeling you.

[...]

"I know who I am." No you don't, that's my point, if you knew who you were you wouldn't be playing multiple characters, in this case eye candy and serious reporter. "Well, I have to act this way for the job, for TV." They didn't spring this on you last minute. It may be wrong to expect a reporter to be sexy on TV, but if you say you have to be sexy as part of the job, you can't double back and say you weren't being sexy.

What you want is to be able to behave sexy, or rude, or ridiculous, or offensive-- and still demand to be seen the way you want to be seen.

[...]

Note the power set up. All you fools think that female reporters are in the locker rooms because it is some sort of measure of equality, "why should the males get the best interviews?" that this is somehow a success for equality, something that women had to struggle to earn, and you think that because you were told that.

Women didn't earn this over the resistance of an old boy network; the media conglomerates decided it would be awesome to televise a hyperfemale in a locker room with a nearly naked hypermale and pretend there's no sexuality implied. So anything that goes wrong is between individuals, nothing to do with the Machine.

In case you guys aren't aware, he had to pay a A$10,000 fine.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-01-05/ch...bl/7069194

Absolutely ridiculous. They try to justify the size of the fine by donating it to charity.
