He clearly doesn't mean a word of it. He's had to come out and make some sort of response because of his teams sponsors. He's not like Trump, he has to answer to someone. Another tell is two different reporters tried to turn the outrage dial up past 10 within that 90 second interview and both times Gayle snapped out of blahblahblah mode and shut them down bluntly. That reveals more about what he actually thinks about it all than anything else.

First thing I thought of upon hearing about the incident was the Sex Negativity Narrative. However, while I expect it from your average city dwelling awkward Millennial chicks, I did not expect it from a reporter who should have enough social skills to easily deflect or banter.

I wonder why nobody trolled this with pointing out how culturally insensitive and racist those people are against Chris Gayle.

What's most disappointing is how many so-called men I've seen on social media defending this useless woman's "honour". Most common rhetoric is "what if that was your mother / sister / daughter / wife / girlfriend?" Then they group-pat each other on the back for such clever thought.

I can't believe how fast this is accelerating either. Just a couple of years ago, everyone would've laughed at it for 3 seconds then forgot about it entirely. True about the Aussie city millennial..it's very very sad..I will go out and talk to groups at the bar.The lads are so femininized it's not funny.However in the burbs I can not compete with the young blokes untouched by this bullshit.These guys give me hope for the country.These guys play sport are tradesmen etc won't back down...the way Australia use to be..

The club he was playing for fined him. The club then donated the money to the charity that the match was supporting. Because his club fined him, the league itself took no action.
