Yes, eventually this fire is coming back to the USA. But not at first.

We are going to see the dollar rise in value heavily in the next 5-10 years as the EU burns down. I used to think hyperinflation would come to the USA first but not if the world's wealthiest move their money into dollars.

The EU dying will keep the USA from disintegrating for a good deal while longer. In other words:

RE: Greece economic default crisis
Its clear that the IMF, ECB only have 2 options now...

They can let Greece default and use the drachma to pay debts but this will make other countries (other PIGS) wants to do the same.

or...

They can try to lower the Greek debt but then this will make other countries (other PIGS) want to do the same.

So there will be contagion of this no vote to other countries and the whole Eurozone house of cards will start to fall apart.

RE: Greece economic default crisis
I'm betting Europe will let Greece simply default. They won't kick them out of the EU, but perhaps the currency union. They'll keep them around to make an example of. They will simply watch them suffer until they cave, or turn into an impoverished country within the EU.

"See what happens when you fuck with the banks and the EU" will be the result. The rest will fall in line pretty quickly.

Not ridiculous, just rational. No one wants the party to end. No one wants to start the real work. It's like that term paper you waited until the end of the semester to do. Only a week left? How should we start it?

RE: Greece economic default crisis
An interview with Thomas Piketty, who advocates a writedown of Greek debt to save the European project.

https://medium.com/@gavinschalliol/thoma...5e7add6fff

Quote:Piketty: When I hear the Germans say that they maintain a very moral stance about debt and strongly believe that debts must be repaid, then I think: what a huge joke! Germany is the country that has never repaid its debts. It has no standing to lecture other nations...

After the war ended in 1945, Germany’s debt amounted to over 200% of its GDP. Ten years later, little of that remained: public debt was less than 20% of GDP. Around the same time, France managed a similarly artful turnaround. We never would have managed this unbelievably fast reduction in debt through the fiscal discipline that we today recommend to Greece. Instead, both of our states employed the second method with the three components that I mentioned, including debt relief. Think about the London Debt Agreement of 1953, where 60% of German foreign debt was cancelled and its internal debts were restructured...

To deny the historical parallels to the postwar period would be wrong. Let’s think about the financial crisis of 2008/2009. This wasn’t just any crisis. It was the biggest financial crisis since 1929. So the comparison is quite valid. This is equally true for the Greek economy: between 2009 and 2015, its GDP has fallen by 25%. This is comparable to the recessions in Germany and France between 1929 and 1935.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/econo...-deal.html

So Greece has defaulted on its IMF obligations. The last time this has happened, it was Zimbabwe, all the way back in 2001. Think about that for a second... Zimbabwe. That should terrify the average Greek.

On the 20th, they have to come up with something as that's when their ECB payments are due.

http://graphics.wsj.com/greece-debt-timeline/

That is really mind-boggling. There is a total of 300+ loan repayments they need to make from now to 2050. How can such a little country be so irresponsible and socialist?

The ECB should consider future debt repayment, but only in exchange for some show of good faith. Cuts to pensions, social security. This current patch of bailouts were all approved with the understanding that the Greeks would work on improving their fiscal position. But they haven't done a thing to rectify things, for years, and haven't shown even the slightest hint of remorse under these Syrizas guys.

TLDR: Greece is gonna git rekt.

Greek isn't the only nation headed for catastrophe. Compare Greece's national debt with US for example:

RE: Greece economic default crisis
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts (Former US Treasury Official) predicts:

Quote:As the Greek banks are closed and evidently cannot reopen without a resolution of the issue, EU inflexibility would force Greece to leave the euro and return to its own currency in order to reopen the banks. This would not require Greece’s departure from the EU as the UK and one or two other EU member states have their own currencies. However, most likely the EU and Washington and Washington’s Japanese, Canadian, and Australian vassals would attack the new Greek currency and drive its value in exchange markets to such a low value that Greece could not import and wealth held in Greek currency would be worthless abroad.

An inflexible EU creates conditions for Russia and China to act. These two powerful nations have the means to finance Greece and to bring Greece into the economic relationships established by these two countries and by the BRICS.

The Greek drama is far from over. Pray that the Russian and Chinese governments understand that rescuing Greece is the start of the process of unravelling NATO, Washington’s mechanism for bringing conflict to Russia and China. The One Percent have Italy and Spain targeted for looting, and eventually France and Germany herself. If the Greek people rescue themselves from the clutches of the EU, Italy and Spain could follow.

RE: Greece economic default crisis
Yanis Varoufakis now resigning as Greek finance minister to 'assist with the signing of an agreement' - his Twitter:

Quote:Soon after the announcement of the referendum results, I was made aware of a certain preference by some Eurogroup participants, and assorted ‘partners’, for my… ‘absence’ from its meetings; an idea that the Prime Minister judged to be potentially helpful to him in reaching an agreement. For this reason I am leaving the Ministry of Finance today.

I consider it my duty to help Alexis Tsipras exploit, as he sees fit, the capital that the Greek people granted us through yesterday’s referendum.

And I shall wear the creditors’ loathing with pride.

We of the Left know how to act collectively with no care for the privileges of office. I shall support fully Prime Minister Tsipras, the new Minister of Finance, and our government.

The superhuman effort to honour the brave people of Greece, and the famous OXI (NO) that they granted to democrats the world over, is just beginning.

What did greek people aged 18-25 ever agree to that they're not honoring? Also, 92% of the bailout went to banks. Banks that knew the loans were unpayable and that would only saddle children to financial slavery they never consented to.
This is like saying the Jews deserved the ovens because one time Hitler won an election.

This is correct in more ways than you can imagine. One of the people cheering on SYRIZA (and quietly engaging with them) is Aleksandr Dugin, Putin's chief ideologue. SYRIZA represents many different strands of thought, but they are all united in their opposition to the NWO.

The current Western elites with their globalist agenda persist in subjecting the people of European to the cheap money ponzi scheme where bankers make private profits but saddle their losses onto the the weakest and most vulnerable people who never had their snouts in the trough. They don't care about the rapid De-Europeanisation of Europe (or North America, Australia, Canada and NZ either, for that matter.)

The sociopaths who rule us all sing from the same hymn sheet. Western women too busy working as wage slaves to settle down and have babies? No problem, just import more consumers from the 3rd world, and keep the ponzi scheme going!

Today, the people of Greece struck a blow against the ideas of the geo-political/ international finance/ third world cheap labour/ voter import agenda of the crony capitalists and bankers. An ethnos, a people united by blood, has stood up against the faceless, unelected gang who seek to subvert all nations for their own ends.

Make no mistake, the Greeks were subjected to terrorism in the days leading up to this, and the terror tactics will continue. The capital controls were supposed to instill fear on the part of the populace, but it had the opposite effect. No one is as free as a man who has nothing left to lose. This is why the vote was courageous.

Europeans now have the "right" to hold referendums to know if the want to keep the party going on with Greece. Which is the same to say, if they want to keep giving money.

Anyway: Any new deal must first be accepted by the IMF, ECB, EU and the Greeks. Then it must go through Greek Parliament... good luck over there.

On the other side, in the usual left-wing fashion, finance minister did his "all guns blazing job", kamikazed in the referendum against the Troika, spent all the money available and is now bailing.

If by "party" you mean continued deficit spending, then you and the people in SYRIZA are in agreement. Greece has made massive fiscal adjustments in the last five years, such that it is now in surplus but for creditor repayments.

The thing is, SYRIZA doesn't want more money as under the current scheme it was just being recycled back to the creditors. If you are genuinely interested, try reading Varoufakis's blog. It's all there.

I know it's from last year, but as far as I know, the situation as only gotten worse.

For the past 5 years, Greek governments half assed everything, and blamed everyone. Time for the party to stop.

RE: Greece economic default crisis
Greece's politicians are anything but opposed to any global power.

What is happening now is local drama for the populace. It is similar to the slaughter going on in Syria - just that everyone is talking about it.

The markets are not impressed by it - 3% down in pre-market in Germany and then up 1.5% by then. Essentially the market barely acknowledges the Greece situation.

Despite all the public claims of end-of-the-world it reminds me of the US fiscal debt ceiling fake crisis between Democrats and Republicans.

That said - I am not sitting at the highest levels of power, so I can only speculate on potential actions of different probabilities:

1. ECB prolongs the ELA and pumps minimum level of liquidity to Greece - even when Greece does not pay on 20.7., then the ECB can continue to do so. There may be some turmoil and the Greek people may experience severe money supply restriction and a deep mini-depression. They will be much softer spoken when the ECB opens up the cash spigots later on. A new deal is brokered out, debt is restructured, likely debt is spread among the current EU countries who have to pay it back (most of it is usury anyway that never reached Greece, but the 0.0001% wants what is theirs).

Greece stays in the EU and the ECB has greater power - the cries for a powerful EU wide finance ministry or control system are getting louder.

95% Chance

2. Greece exits the EU and the monetary union, gets clobbered financially as the new currency is devalued to such degree that the Greek people cannot afford anything imported incl. gasoline. After an initial shock phase the BRIC countries - especially Russia and China give Greece a helping hand. However that one is tricky, since Greece is a firm member of NATO. Being closely associated officially with Russia and NATO at the same time is almost an impossibility.

This scenario is unlikely, probably even much worse for the Greek people. This will not be a jump to freedom, but a jump to the death.

5% Chance

Keep in mind that scenario 1 may appear like scenario 2 as Greece starts printing some interim currency and then everything collapses.

It seems also that the markets are pretty pretty sure that there is a scenario 1 around the corner within weeks, months or even a year after some passing flash mobs, rioting, food shortages, gas shortages.

The real alternative of course would not happen, because I don't believe the current Greek politicians are some kind of modern day Lincolns or Andrew Jacksons (both assassinated or almost assassinated [guns misfired with Andrew Jackson]). The real good alternative would be to annex the Greek central bank, print new interest free Drachma at sufficient levels, even better distribute the interest free drachma via social credit with demurrage. But that would be so utterly successful that they would have to nuke Greece to stamp out that money power rebellion.

(Drops rant mic)
