I can't see Ford testifying without the whole thing ending up as a spectacular, public meltdown of an obvious false accuser.

There's still enough time to confirm him before the midterms, and even then, the lame duck Congress could confirm him before new members are sworn in after the new year.

You cannot expect Trump to change things in one term, let alone two terms. Either Americans continue to reconquer America from the left and globalists, or we are in for some interesting times. The Democrats want to push Kavanaugh's nomination into October so that way they can get a list of people who voted for him, and use that list as ammunition in the mid-terms - at least that's how I see it. I'm fed up with the republican party, but they're the only game in town at the moment. If we don't get at bare minimum, the wall and SCOTUS, I have a hard time believing America will not dissipate into separate countries, the former Czechoslovakia comes to mind in the best scenario and then in the worst case, the Yugoslav Wars of the '90s and the Serbian Civil War come to mind in the worst case scenario. Americans are fed up with the left, even some of my left-wing friends are disgusted at how global corporatists control the party. If the Democrats win in November, its proof in my view, that the people don't control anything while the men in cloaks do. I wish Trump would just declassify everything, the UK is a pathetic excuse of a country, as is Australia, in terms of government and their respective governmental class. Anglo nation-states in Western Europe are on the path of becoming a caliphate anyway, so why should Americans or our government care about the UK? At this moment in time, I think America faces a greater threat from the European Soviet Socialist Union than it does from Russia, or even China for that matter. I agree with the other posters, have hope, but don't hold your breath - Trump may be just another Henry V: winner of many battles but loser in the grand scheme of things.
