Assuming Nigeria asked for US support, that would actually be worth the intervention (as with any other cooperative country that requested US aid). But invading Syria that doesn't want you there on the pretext of "helping with ISIS" is just more of the same pathetic neocon bullshit.

I don't know man, you don't simply just bomb syria. It is different from Libya because Libya didn't have massive geopolitical interest at stake despite libya having extraordinary oil reserves.

The situation in syria is precarious. It can escalate very quickly to an uncontrollable war. There are many parties that want to turn this into a full scale war (Saudi Arabia/Qatar). There are multiple targeted countries beyond Russia (Iran/Lebanon) and there are lots of fertile grounds for expansion (Israel/Jordan/Yemen-already at war-/Turkey)

Libya didn't have the fertile grounds for an explosion of chaos. It is bordered by Tunisia (peaceful), Algeria (highly guarded) and Egypt (highly guarded too).

I'm very sad the syrian conflict didn't came to a resolution. I thought it was on the way there but there is clearly a turn of events here. I was reckless not to see this coming. Had to leave the middle east earlier. Looks like we are still very far from the bottom.

Impeachment will take a while and no doubt he does not want proceedings to start on him. That's super embarrassing on a personal/professional level and puts him at high risk to be fired by either Trump or Sessions. That's the real danger, getting fired to avoid a circus. Deputy AG is an appointed position, not elected, can't he just be fired? I thought impeachment was just for elected officials.

I'm really hoping Trump takes a stand for the first amendment, which he has shown no signs of doing. If free speech is limited to billionaire presidents of the United States we are fucked (and so is his chance at a second term.)

The wall is not the main issue right now, it's the harsh crackdown on all moderates and conservatives across the internet.

The first and second amendments need to be fiercely guarded, or I might not want to be walled in when the shit goes down.
