But to me it's now clear that he's not much different from all the others. At the end of the day, it's just business as usual. Maybe a better analogy would be: Trump is flying by the seat of his pants. He's an "ad hoc" president. He has no real fixed, deeply-held belief system. He's an opportunist who's out for himself and his family. He's a thin-skinned egoist, lacking any real depth of character. He doesn't read, has no curiosity about the world, and has the attention span of a ferret on a double-espresso. He'll say and do anything at the moment to satisfy whatever whim needs to be taken care of.
Clinton would have been just as bad.
There's been way too much projection of our own wishes and desires on to this president. Instead of looking and seeing what's right before your eyes, we tend to see what we want to see.
When you say, "Well, then what hope is there for anything, then, if he's just like all the others?"
My answer is the same as it has always been:
Stop looking to political figures to solve your problems or to advance you in life. You're on your own, and always have been. No one is going to save you. What we need are spiritual revolutions--upheavals of the soul--and not political revolutions. These political "leaders" are all owned by big business and foreign governments. They hate you and want to see you marginalized and sent to oblivion. Trump is not your savior. He doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself and his family.
Look to yourselves. The truth lies within you. It does not lie outside you. And it definitely does not lie in Trump.
In this era of lies, hypocrisy, and false "god emperors" (what a bloody sham), the only solution is to turn away from the evil and elevate yourself. Improve yourself. You now have to be bigger, better, stronger, faster, and tougher than ever before. You have to be stronger now than you ever thought you could be. Because we have all been sold out and left by the wayside. But they underestimate us...our power and your power. When the time is right, the dividend of all your hard work will be paid. But the road will be long, bitter, and full of despair along the way. You need to dig deep now.
Our renaissance begins only when this point is truly understood.

I never "disavowed" Trump or mentioned any Jews and was very clear that we should disapprove but not panic or "jump off the Trump Train", so I don't know if I'm included in that, but I'd defend those who did because their outrage is fully justified.
We're talking about a public, clear, publicized, unprovoked launch of 50 tons of high explosive at a sovereign country after spending the last 4 years stressing that you'd never do such a thing. It's not people losing their minds over some random appointee comment or article quoting anonymous staffers or similar bullshit, but over tons of tangible explosives being hurled at a country across the world because - we were openly told - the President saw a photo of a strangled kid. There's nothing ambiguous here!
Do we really live in a world where 50 Tomahawk missiles hurled at a random country over a random piece of #fakenews is nothing to get worked over? Where chucking $100 million worth of weapons at one of Russia's allies is just an everyday event with nothing to worry about?
I'm starting to feel like I'm back in 2003!
I respect your opinion HCE, and no I wasn't including you in my view.
But like a previous poster said, this seems like it was a simple slap on the wrist sort of maneuver. A gas attack was launched from a chemical weapons base in Syria, and that base was subsequently destroyed for it. We didn't launch an invasion, we haven't toppled Assad's regime, we just slapped him down for this instance, and told him not to do it again. It hurts alliances with Russia, but strengthens alliances on many other sides in the Middle East, as well as domestically with D's & R's.
Trump is an ad-hoc president for sure, he doesn't have a fixed belief system, and he has always been pragmatic and just goes with what works best in the moment. He absolutely has been flying by the seat of his pants, and is probably doing as good of a job appeasing all sides as one man could be expected to do so far.

Nothing but anxiety and panicking in the last few pages.
Jesus H. Christ.
-There is no World War III starting
-We’ve been bombing Syria for 2 years now
-We’ve had US boots on the ground in Syria for the same amount of time
-There have been chemical attacks before in Syria
-The media is playing everyone for fools and uncoupling and derailing the Trump train
The guys disavowing are fucking chumps, it’s embarrassing, and shows their true nature.
What happened to wait and see ? Did we lose this thought process after the election ?
Let start with Assad:
-He doesn’t have anything to gain by gassing his enemies, especially when he’s WINNING.
-BUT maybe he’s just a dick and decided to. (I don’t see why he would)
-A more feasible explanation is Syrian dropped munitions hit a rebel/ISIS depot that had CM’s (rational)
-It’s not farfetched to think this was indeed staged or a false operation (I’m keeping an open mind)
On Trump:
-He didn’t just decide to drop Tom’s on Syria because of pictures of a kid dying.
-He wasn’t going to sit by with his dick in his hand and not do anything.
-This was a SURGICAL strike – this wasn’t bombing the fuck out of everything.
-I agree, loyalty is important, but not blind allegiance – he IS human. (I'm not blind to this either)
-This is his FIRST show of force, he made direct decision on his own.
-He isn’t Hillary, he isn’t a shill, however, “The (((Kuschner))) Question” still stands.
On The Syrian Airfield Bombing:
-Yes it killed some soldiers, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.
-Once again, this was a SURGICAL strike, not carpet bombing.
-American radar/intel can usually tell what jets came from what base in the region.
-Intel is allegedly strong these planes came from said base (but not if they carried CW’s, which I still think is false)
-Syrian/Russian assets had warning and obviously cleared the base for the most part.
-23 of 59 Tom’s actually hit their targets – pretty low success rate in my eyes.
-Initial reports are showing relatively minor destruction and showing jets fine in bunkers.
-The runways themselves have moderate damage but look pretty reparable.
-No Radar stations/early warning/AA/SAM's seem to of been taken out.
-The above means an precursor to invasion usually.
-US isn't planning anymore air strikes.
I personally think we just all need to chill the fuck out for a day, reassess what’s going on.
Yes, I’m a little bummed that Trump did this, BUT I still have faith in the dude, he’s got 8 years brahs.
He isn’t perfect, he’s human, AND he’s got a shit ton of pressure on him on all sides.
We're all gonna make it !

I'm already growing weary of playing table-tennis with various members who I respect and enjoy the contributions of. I'm getting the sense that nothing good is going to come from speculating on this. So I'm going to drop my opinion here and leave it at that. Afterward I'll eject from the Trump threads until I see a light at the end of the tunnel, which I now contend will be never.
There has been a growing sense of dread among some of the members here about whether Trump would come through for America and in a sense for Western civilisation. There has also been a growing sense of dread about whether he ever intended to in the first place. For the record I'm in the former camp. I want to believe that he ran with the best intentions, but after the first month passed there was a window of opportunity that came and went. I missed it at the time as did most others I suspect. I only see it in hindsight.
Trump's ego has been his undoing. I understand now why the elites and their lackeys caved in and let him run wild in that first month. We all laughed and laughed about how they were in disarray, but I'm starting to believe it was quite deliberate. It gave Trump and his people the mistaken belief that they were on an unstoppable run. That they could make the MAGA omelette and that they wouldn't even have to break any eggs to do it. And in that precious month that opportunity slipped by.
That opportunity was the opportunity to tell the American people from the mouth of their own president precisely how their government was being run, by whom and for whom. At any time until the end of that month he could have exorcised the demon. Given it a name. Given it a face. Allowed the people of America and the West beyond to know their enemy. He didn't need a briefing or access to top secret documents. He only needed to say what everyone knew but couldn't force the world to acknowledge. That every strata of the American government has been systematically corrupted to create a globalist empire and an omniscient police state.
Like an exorcism the pain would have been all but unbearable. The elites would howl and lash out however they were able. But in a greater sense the minds of the American people would have been freed.
But he didn't do this and now he's trapped. That opportunity came and went. The enemy allowed him constant victories and he believed he could MAGA without having to wake the population from it's slumber. That he could wrest control of the body from the demon possessing it. But pride comes before a fall and now his opportunity has passed. If he tried to expose the deep state at this late stage then he would be ridiculed as a sore loser. A man who got a taste of the job and concocted a story to excuse his inevitable failures.
There were several members here that sounded the alarm bells early. For example, after the first month when Trump failed to take action against the antifa or against the marxist colleges. When he failed to take advantage of the plain and obvious means at his disposal to stop islamic immigration dead in its tracks. During this time I myself chose to remain blind to the fact that Trump was now caught in the elite's political quicksand, subject to a sudden need to negotiate and with each negotiation sinking deeper and deeper into impotency. "Get back on the train" we said. "4D chess" we said. Fools. We got used to winning and didn't think it would stop, but it's stopped all right. Hundreds of thousands of corrupt federal servants and the wiles of dozens of trillionaires cannot be grappled with by one man, no matter what desk he sits behind, and when he failed to get the American people in the fight by naming the demon he chose to battle those insurmountable odds by himself. A fight he was always destined to lose.
So it came and went. The last chance to name the beast. The last chance for a bloodless revolution. The last chance to restore freedom without a body count. From here on in it will be disappointment after disappointment, as surely as the sun rises. Trump will get his wall and America will get plane-loads of muslim immigrants instead of truck-loads of Mexican ones.
And by the time the next president takes his place, that wall will be used to keep Americans in, not Mexicans out.

So, Trump attacking Syria to distract from his domestic woes and appear more presidential is now considered a brilliant move and some Nth level chess game? LOL, please, this is an old trick. Past presidents who have tried this have been harshly criticized for using military action to boost their flagging popularity and agenda, and rightly so.
