I did a post yesterday about the election of 1948, where Harry Truman was so unpopular that all the "experts" predicted that he was going to get crushed by Thomas Dewey and that everyone should just forget about it.

But Truman worked his ass off while Dewey just expected the presidency. The latter made few public appearances and when he made those appearances he made a ton of gaffes. Harry Truman in the meantime campaigned furiously all over the country. He was active every day and he fought. He coined linguistic kill shots and picked strategic targets. He connected with his supporters. In the end, he won despite his unpopularity and the three way split in the Democratic Party that year.

In effect, Truman just plain old outworked Dewey.

And that's another reason why things look good for Trump. Note how he goes all over the place. He does interviews. He keeps himself front and center whenever possible. She on the other hand only does carefully staged interviews, photo ops, and campaign appearances.

He's just going to outwork the hag.

I went out suited up again last night in DC. Three-piece suit, officlal #MakeAmericaGreatAgain hat. American flag lapel pin on jacket. Trump cuff links. Red bow tie. Pocket watch. Pocket Square. My body is ready.

A very bearded buddy from the forum met me at a Turkish bar in Adams Morgan, Washington DC. He got there early and ordered a whiskey soda. As for me, determined to moderate my drinking compared to the night before, I ordered a glass of red wine. We discussed life and politics. Trump is going to win. We know this. The bar was recently renovated and had a nice feel to it. We ordered appetizers. Meat and potatoes, typical Americans.

I tried a new beer, picked randomly. Belgium. Hmm, I love Belgian beers. It went down smooth.

We left for a very collegiate Irish bar. The bartender was not a fan of my hat. He bent my ID back and forth and scanned it with a flashlight. Seriously? I was getting stares from just about everywhere. Some people scoffed. Some women stared in disbelief. Some guys high-fived me. There are always closet supporters everywhere. Sometimes they escape from their girlfriends for a few second just to talk to me. Used to the attention and emboldened, I carried on. I had been doing this for five months. We met a friend (DJ) of my buddy's at the bar on the second level. He seems to know everyone in this town. Over the past few years and since moving just out of the city, I'd gotten a bit out of touch. I need to start networking again with the locals. Noted.

The drinks at this place were $5. Super cheap for DC. Typical for a college dive. A couple guys passed by, "Make America Great Again!" they yelled. I grinned. This is a movement. One guy came up and told us (I kid you not), that he'd heard about the "transgender bathroom bullshit" in the news, and so tonight they were going to use any bathroom with the shortest line tonight and claim to be whatever is convenient. Brilliant.

My friend used the men's bathroom. While waiting, some older woman asked me who I was voting for. I laughed and asked her if she was voting for Trump. She said yes. Surprised me. The mother as I found out, was from Indiana, and was visiting her 8th grade daughter who happened to be traveling in DC for the weekend. I told her we did great in Indiana and we were going to make America great again. She agreed, but she was worried about her truck and its Trump bumper stickers. "You're only here until tomorrow? I've had mine for months, you'll be fine", I said. She wanted a selfie with me. I accommodated.

We continued drinking but moved to another spot next door. I had been here before but never on this level. Large open space. Good ratios. Craft beers. Perfect. I was getting more attention. People were also more drunk and actively engaging me in conversations. "Are you really a Trump supporter or are you being ironic?" Question of the year. Hilarious to experience. One girl actually scoffed and walked away, completely astonished, when I told her of course I was not being ironic. MAGA baby.

Probably had half a dozen "selfies" taken with random girls and guys in the span of an hour. Rockstar status. Note to self to come back here. Sent a few tinder messages, replied to the girlfriend, sent out a tweet. Back to action. We put our names on a list to get up to the rooftop. That was a first. 10 minutes later, rooftop access guy actually came to get us from way inside the bar. I was surprised.

We had not talked to as many girls as I had wanted to, but I was enjoying myself as usual. Typical. We engaged a group of military guys sitting at a table. Some of them supported Trump. A few feigned. I frankly couldn't tell. The main guy was a bit drunk and standoffish. Coast guard. "What do you have to offer me?", he said. I asked him what kind of question that was. He was being evasive and somewhat combative. I don't know why we stayed, but it was interesting conversation.

A few minutes later we were shaking hands and leaving for a more hipster bar across town. My buddy really wanted to see me get into some action, it seemed. Walking up the stairs some long-haired AIDS skrillex looking guy flipped my hat off and started shouting, cursing, and trying to fight. Those bouncers were on him so fast like you wouldn't believe. Tremendous. We love our security don't we? My memory is a bit hazy after that but we didn't stay long. Last call. What a night. Think I'll do it again next week.

I've seen media talking about the "Bernie revolution" and how even after he eventually fails in presidential bid we'll still the ripples of his campaign through "Bernie democrats" running for state wide and local political positions on a progressive platform. Now for the first time I see a mainstream media article about 'Trumpism" and how it's inspiring a rise of more small time politicians aligning themselves to the platform Trump is popularizing.

If I were Hillary, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I'm not even alluding at her conscience, cause I'm sure decades of misdeeds shrank it, but at the certainty of her debacle at the hands of Trump... She also has to be worried of the server judicial case, of losing to Bernie, of being replaced by the Establishment at the last moment, of having Bill going berserk (again)... I mean, if she sleeps soundly at night, she's the devil itself!

Right now I imagine Hillary's team is treating her kind of like Hooli staff treats Gavin Belson on Silicon Valley. She is such a monster, by all accounts, that her staff is probably forced to lie to her to keep her from exploding. The most famous one is Predictit, which has Trump at 44c, or +125 equivalent. As of right now, that line is probably accurate simply because of the electoral college system and the inherent lead provided to democrats.

Though if you had made accounts before the UIGEA, it is also possible to use Bovada or similar places that have the retarded EU lines.

This is a great compilation of clips from Trump dating right back to the 1980s. The first half, for me, as a non-American, was particularly great. It shows just how consistent and reasonable Trump is, and how sincere his motivation for running is. I think he is really doing this out of love for the country, I am sure he is, for all his vanity, a somewhat reluctant candidate.

One of the things that impresses me so much about him is how likable he is. It is a very fine art to be warm, gracious, and not to come across as superior, whilst still being resolute and certain in your authority. He is, and has been, presidential for decades. I think he has the iron fist in the velvet glove that is easily the most important quality for any leader.
