RE: LINUX Bangs Colombia -- A 90 Day Journey (NSFW)
LINUX i have read your Cali Datasheet, where you compare Cali with Rio. I'm just curious. Since you like Cali so much. Why it is your favorite?
I realized that according to your posts, Rio was overall better for women. Easier, better nightlife, and bigger chance with high quality girls (8s and 9s). You said the local men in both countries where equally jerks. Why are you picking Cali (Colombia in general) than Brazil then? I have the feeling than Cali specially is way more dangerous than both Bogota and Rio. Why not Bogota then if it is safer, easier and with a more things to do?

I have a feeling that Cali is cheaper than those two cities, i guess that can be a factor. Would really appreciate your answer.
---
I see now that you said Cali is safer than Rio. Looking at the murder rate is about 120 per 1000 in Cali and 30 per 1000 in Rio.

That data sheet is old and it's not my thoughts anymore. I don't recall saying that men in Colombia are jerks, if I did, I don't believe that anymore. Colombian men are some of the nicest men I know.

I also don't think it's easier to get 8's and 9's in Rio than in Colombia. I do like the nightlife in Rio better because it's more European and while I do find the women easier there , I just don't like the country.

Cali is my favorite because I like sitting on a warm balcony, with a naked woman, smoking a cigar, and then walking down the street to do some salsa dancing. There is nothing wrong with Bogota, I like Bogota and the weather is more pleasing than Cali. Cali is just where I feel at home. Everyone has their favorite spot. As far as danger, I don't care about that. To me, getting shot in the head is much better than suffering from cancer for 5 years and withering away. If Cali was safe, I wouldn't go there because it would be overrun with gringos.

RE: LINUX Bangs Colombia -- A 90 Day Journey (NSFW)
I always laugh at the safety comment regarding Colombia.

I think back to all the times I overtook 18 wheelers in blizzard conditions in Canada while driving 12 hour straight to a rig job on mountain roads.

Or getting so drunk in Ireland I tried to drive my car into the sea thinking it was the way home. Ireland is also the only place I have been mugged (3 times)

Or my first year surfing where I would get smashed consistently in huge waves I had no business being in. I have two scars on my face from surfing and have been nearly knocked out or drowned quite a few times.

And I'm not even one of the guys who has been deployed abroad.

Looking at stats doesn't paint an accurate picture. I walk around here everyday in a neighbourhood where I am the only foreign guy and never feel in any danger. If something happens then fuck it's my time I guess and I will deal with that then.

Dont let stats hold you back from anything in life. Unless its raw dogging a girl from Nigeria.

The level of affection I received from Colombian women was alarming at first but something I grew to enjoy. Is being overly affectionate part of Latin American culture in general or is it specific to Colombia?

It varies, depending on the country, but it is pretty obvious that latinas, in general, are more affectionate, than most women from other parts of the world. This is even more so, at the beginning.
Though, for me, the true test of women's affections is what happens months or weeks, after you leave the country.
In that sense, I don't consider colombian women, as particularly affectionate, specially compared to brasileiras.
Once you leave, most colombianas go about their business and quickly forget.
Brasileiras have a harder time forgetting.

So do Mexicans. With Colombians, it's usually a few missed phone calls or unanswered texts after you leave and that's the end of it. Most girls regardless of nationality, seem to expect that, for example, when I meet a girl, then leave the country, then see her again when I return they often say, "I never thought I'd see you again."

Mostly. I prefer it that way. Makes it easier for everyone.
Though, at the same time, I appreciate it, because that kind of affection and loyalty is rare nowadays.

I don't know bro. That's not my experience at all. I'm not sure why we are having different experiences.

Are you connecting with these girls, meaning you're writing them to check on the health of their family and sending them voice notes to tell them that you are thinking about them?

From reading your posts and choch's posts, I would say that you two guys are complete opposites after far as both looks and personality, so that probably accounts for the different experiences. I'm probably completely different than most of the guys on here, both in a gold way and a bad way. I struggle like hell in Mexico, but have an easy time in Miami. Who else on here does that?

Linux, I am sure if I did that, there might be a few who wouldn't forget so quickly.
The point is I never do that, with girls from any country. But, whenever I leave Brazil, even if I act cold and indifferent, there always are several who keep contact (with affection and they always use the words "tenho saudades")... some up to a few years.
Merenguero and I agree that Mexican and Brazilian chicks, in general, are more loyal and affectionate (in the long term), which doesn't mean that much, since most of us, are still not looking to settle down with a chick soon.
Also, IMO, you can bang, with no native language skills easier, in Colombia than in Brazil.
Obviously, there always are exceptions.

Anyone have any info on Popayan or Neiva? I am thinking of going to Bogota, by bus, from Quito and stopping a few days at 2 small cities.
Did some online reconnaissance yesterday, but was not too impressed. I will get Colombian Cupid next week and see how that goes.

If you're arriving from Ecuador, take a look at Ipiales.

Too similar and close to Ecuador for my taste. Even Pasto, reminds me of Ecuador somewhat.
It has to be a small city north of Pasto and south of Bogota.

Penthouse Apartment with Internet and two balconies $550,000

What do you use to find housing in Colombia? I pretty much always use Airbnb out of convenience and security, but I know it's overpriced.

Scotian just said it. I'm using local connections through a girl I'm with.

If you are staying in the main areas and using AirBNB then you will be paying much more. I've noticed though that lots of them have 90% vacancy on the booking calanders. Try ask them to cut a deal.

I am not in that area and have only seen one other foreign guy since I landed. He had a fat girlfriend tatted up with pink hair. Me and my girl had a good laugh at their expense.

You could use Tinder and ask girls if they have a friend who rents. Me and Scotian did that and it worked out fine. Just get pics and pay by the week after you see the place.

550,000 is roughly $175 USD. I am reading that correctly, right? If so that is fucking awesome.

Would you mind posting or PMing me some pictures of it? I'm very curious as to the quality.

I'm prepping to leave my day job this spring and have been toying with the idea of trying to get an AirBNB for a week or two (while still US based), and in that timespan find a girl who can help me negotiate a good rate on a "locals" apartment. Especially since I plan to stay in a city for at least a month or two.

Seems to be an easy way to save a decent amount on food and board provided your game is strong enough...

Either way, congrats Atlantic. Enjoy it!

Spinning Center on Calle 85 #13-52 is closer to Zona Rosa and much cheaper than Body Tech on Cl 85 #7.....I hv had
memberships at both....Body Tech is better if your planning on travelling throughout Colombia as you can use gyms in Medellin y Cali....but almost double the price

Closest pool to Zona Rosa is at the school Giminasio Moderno on Calle 78 #11. They have a good community pool but it is fairly expensive. Body tech in Chico has a pool as well, but that's the most expensive BT in Bogota.

On Google Maps there is Gimnasio Moderno, in Chapinero Norte, with a decent looking swimming pool. Anyone ever try that one?

Yes, I just realized the gym with pool was the one you mentioned. What was the monthly cost?
Ever try Hotel gym memberships in Bogota?
In Quito, I have a membership in The Hilton Colon fitness complex and they have a good gym, a nice outdoor heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. They also provide towels. water and fruits.
The monthly rate is $120.
