Something of a psychological Rubicon is crossed when the average man has to wonder whether foreign nations are more hostile to his well-being than his own government.

Do I have more to fear from the Chinese or Russians than my own federal government? Which represents a greater threat to my liberty?

Anyway, as for PJW it's simply another step toward the center right getting it into their head that there is not going to be a path to reform via dialogue. The sooner Silicon Valley push the right off the internet entirely the better. The demographics have degraded beyond even democratic resolutions but at least military ones remain while heritage populations are not outnumbered ten to one.

At this stage worse is better.

You should fear all governments, but when it comes down to it, you should fear the government that has the most control over your life, the most. You should also fear most if not all corporations for obvious reasons. They all operate the same way as far as I am concerned.

To have services, or more accurately businesses, premised off of profitability based on other businesses that can change their operations (facebook, google, etc) at the flip of a dime--or in this case, algorithm, is tremendously shortsighted. And, the glory days can never last forever. Business people on the internet had plenty of time to see the inherent flaws in this model, but they were happy at the time to just keep making money, and not think about the future. So they bear a lot of fault for not making contingency plans. You ride the wave, and then you look for the next one.

I'm just saying there's a difference between not having a way to express yourself online at all and that way being unpopular.

The irony of the internet is that instead of being the great equalizer it is creating more of a homogenous McCulture than ever. Look at the monster of Disney, for instance, or the music industry that mercilessly copyright-strikes videos of people merely humming or guitar noodling standards or innocently doing trailer reaction videos.

At some point the sheeple have to acknowledge their role in feeding this dysfunctional cycle.

Indie voices are out there but they are almost completely ignored.
