Keep in mind that Fortress Investments invested still 100 mio. $ into it in 2017. And the infos in the interview are from 2016.

When it's truly revolutionary for example like a foolproof cancer treatment, then you would do a full monty and go through 10.000 double-blind peer-reviewed test-cases without even a shred of doubt. (Well - in our world you would get a bullet in your head and your lab would be burned but the motivation regarding a blood testing technology is not there - they would not stop it - why should they?)





Elisabeth Holmes used to "like" pictures on social media of herself on magazine covers. She was comparable to an Instagram model who refreshes her likes counts every minute in order to find out how many men would like to bang her and how many women are envious.

And the guy is absolutely right - if she truly thought that the tech was just 2-3 years around the corner she could have come out openly stating that they only have some issues, but the reality was that EVERY SCIENTIST they hired told them that it cannot be done at current technological level. The Edison machine was a re-designed glue dispensing machine that did exactly one amino test - and badly at that.







There are a few new technologies which can analyze blood with very small quantities - using spectral light analysis, but Theranos was not working on that front:

What she should have actually done and after her C round of funding and vesting was complete is replace herself with another CEO and gone on the board of directors then become an Entrepreneur in Residence at a Venture Capital firm. That's what most intelligent founders do. She could have coasted on a new profitable venture and would have never been held responsible when the thing fell apart, hell it might have ended differently if someone experienced got in there and pivoted the company before the firestorm started.

I would be surprised if some of her early investors and advisory board did not tell her to do that many times.

Has anyone mentioned how her voice turned out to be completely fake by the way? I didn't want to give the Daily Mail any clicks, but this article talks about how an employee had a meeting with Holmes in 2011, and she was excited that he had joined the company, so in her excitement, she forgot to use her baritone voice that she was putting on this whole time with her fake persona, and "slipped back into a more natural sounding young woman's voice." Imagine having this much penis envy that you had to speak in an unnaturally deep tone in addition to being the face of a fraudulent company. Funny how we were saying "would bang" and "it's refreshing to see a decent-looking woman with merit" in the first few posts on this thread.

What I can't stand is how she was touted as someone who sold software to Chinese universities and yet NOBODY has asked her to speak Chinese during any interview. I couldn't find any footage on YouTube.

The point isn't necessarily to doubt that she could speak Chinese. It was that the media kept fawning over her, even reporting that she could speak Chinese to show just how talented she was, and yet there is not a single video of her speaking it, out of the hundreds of interviews.

The point is, as John Michael Kane said, it's the MSM fawning over her. Again, my suspicion is that she is only capable of speaking Chinese in her normal voice, and if they had made such a request, she'd have been exposed as a fraud who intentionally speaks in a deep voice. It makes you wonder to what extent the media knew that she was using a fake voice.

I just finished the Book "Bad Blood". This is Carreyrou's book about Holms and Theranos. I highly recommend it.

The amount of criminal and unethical activity revealed in the book is shocking and goes way beyond anything that had been released in news stories. The deception of investors and prospective customers started well before 2006 and continued nearly continuously for well over a decade. It was pervasive and included the legal intimidation of former employees, doctors, and even patients who used and were defrauded by the erroneous results of Theranos lab tests as well. Most of this intimidation was orchestrated by Balwani and the high power law firm that was employed by Theranos for this purpose. The lawyers of this firm ought to all be disbarred over what they did as well. I actually think this could happen as well.

There is such a considerable amount of criminal activity occurring over a decade that it explains why the criminal investigation took so long. There was a LOT to investigate. The investigation started over two years ago. Holms, in particular, is so well-connected that the prosecutors and investigators want to do a very careful job to ensure that she does not walk.

The amount and duration of the criminality is so pervasive I think it very unlikely Holms is going to escape imprisonment.

I have a feeling that Bad Blood will help seal her fate. If she's smart and her lawyers are smart, they will try to see if the prosecution will offer any kind of plea deal before it goes to trial. Bad Blood as a book is a magnum opus for Carreyrou. It is an actual piece of journalism in an era that is sorely lacking great journalism. It is as good, if not considerably better than any great thriller written by Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, etc. Even though they will be instructed by a judge not to read the book, you know darn well any prospective jurors will go out and buy the book. It is too damn interesting of a case to ignore the central thesis that actually led this thing to trial. Carreyrou shoved a shiv right into Holmes, one that she is not likely to recover from, absent a plea deal. I wonder if this psycho bitch is too proud to take a plea deal. I hope she doesn't, and faces a maximum sentence. One can only hope.

She got to play entrepreneur while urging real scientists to make her unrealistic idea work. Her first product idea of the Startrek-level med-bracelet should have been a first indicator that she had zero idea about the business. Her boyfriend was also only a clueless dot-com millionaire who lucked out in insane times where homeless blokes who had registered balls.com made 1 mio. $ just for running first to the registry.

If she had not enriched herself, then she did it all for an ego trip and the insane belief that her team of scientists would make it work - despite all the leading ones telling her that it could not be done at that price and that size of the equipment. There is zero reason for big pharma blood analysis companies to hold back on smaller cheaper equipment.

It reminds me a bit of that Billy McFarland guy who also came well-connected trying to be a big entrepreneur. His businesses were also wannabe-ones where he hoped that he would strike out big with one and be able to pay back the defrauded investors.
