I'm headed to meet this girl from Vietnam that worked in the hotel THC and I stayed at in Saigon. She's here applying for a student visa.

I busted my ribs wrestling. I tore the muscle or cartiledge between to of them. It hurts to breath and especially sneeze or laugh hard.

I've done this before and it takes forever to heal. About 2 months ago after a disappointing injury like that I would be back on the sauce.

Not this time. Instead I'm going to keep doing what I can.

Since I can't be useful here really I think I will be heading to a 2nd or 3rd tier city in Indonesia.

My thinking is, if Jakarta had the white god factor in full effect, then 2nd or 3rd must be even better. Plus I want to get off the beaten path a bit.

I could stay in Singapore indefinetly for free but i wouldnt feel good about it and besides, I can come back.

I did some pushups and airsquats today and felt alright, so I can still do some stuff as long as I'm careful.

I am a little bummed about leaving two of these girls.

Yesterday I met the girl from Vietnam. I took the MRT to see her and the trip was about 50 minutes.

She was lovely, and happy to see me. Shes very sweet and we talked about what has changed for us over the oast year.

She told me she wants to have kids in a year and insisted I agree to stay for a year in Singapore.

Maybe I'm getting soft, but I just don't like lying to these girls anymore.

Telling them I'm going I might be staying awhike when I know its more like a matter of a few weeks at most. I just don't like it.

I've been thinking about it and I realize that alcohol dulls your senses, including your ability to pick up on how you affect other people or even the energy you're having or receiving.

These feelings are guideposts. When you're living a life that's in alignment with good positive energy, good positive things tend to happen.

I think these little negative things, like making girls feel bad (especially when the only thing they'be done wrong is innocently like you) adds up and kicks you out of that positive alignment. (i'm not talking about the girls that are obviously sluts and just want to get banged, but genuinely nice girls)

There are a ton of other things I'm noticing now that I'm sober when relating to energy.....

I was speaking to a few different people, one guy is very spiritual (also crazy) and another guy is very science based in his thinking (both highly intelligent) and I think there may be a lot of overlap. I'm studying isaac newton for example, and he was convinced the bible was actually based around science!

The energy involved. And like the story of his discovering of gravity (and by the way their is really no weight) I was eating some hot food, the heat caused me to sweat, I realized the heat energy from the food had transferred to me.

People share good and bad energy (positive and negative) in the same manner.

I'm sure of it.

And lo and behold, there are passages in the bible describing this.

And i'm sure almost everyone's empirical evidence will confirm this too.

I started thinking a out many or Marcus Aurelieus's writings in his book of meditations. Same stuff.

Anyway I don't want to bore anyone, but I think I'm on to something.

We will probably never understand what is really going on around us, but I found that all the religions are very similar in their basics. And Karma is strong.

Dont worry, you will still find lots of hot girls who just want to have a good fun. Especially with a Bule in a 2nd tier city. Some will even like you more, as you are one of the few men who are not bullshitting her the whole day.

Keep it up, sounds like you are on a good and interesting path! Even though the trip report from last year was much more fun to read.

Yea trained with Forrest quite a bit. He's a lot better technically than most people realize and so tough he overtrains.

Right now my Malay girl is visiting me in Sing. After she leaves I am hitting Indo.

I've got a great deal on a 1 bedroom condo in the Fort (manila) I'll be hitting up the boys there.

Don't underestimate the power of projection. We tend to hear sometimes, "Oh you're just projecting" as if that's a bad thing. We typically only hear it in negative situations, such as judging people or giving someone a hard time, "You're just projecting your own insecurities and incompetence." etc...

We do it with positive feelings too. That's the nature of compassion, and being compassionate doesn't mean being "soft". People that never experience compassion are the fucked up ones. But it's important to understand your own feelings and how they affect your perceptions of other people.

If you're in a compassionate, healthy, positive worldview, you're going to see those qualities in others.

If you're in an aggressive, competitive, cutthroat worldview, you're going to see those qualities in others.

It's like changing channels. Everyone has different channels. You can still be compassionate to these women and leave them behind you. The only thing you might change is being honest with them, and if there's something you don't need to tell them, don't. You're traveling throughout SE Asia in search of opportunities. You might be back in Sing, maybe not, and you can tell them that. No need to lead them on.

Hell, if it makes it any easier on you, you and I both know that any of these sweethearts could turn into the domineering, nagging spouse, give the chance. You're only seeing one channel of them because of the channel that you're on.

Fisto, according to recent studies, ice may actually slow recovery. i've been training bjj for 10 years or so, and many people at my gym back home are saying no to ice. good luck with the hard train

I don't know about this, I've neglected ice in the past and I've used it when I should.

Its hard to say this isn't true but I have found that icing for 15 mins at a time (not more as it will cause more inflammation) during the the first 48-72 hours has seemingly given me a quicker recovery time.

The article doesnt talk about lenght of icing time which I think is important. As I say, more than 15-20 mins and it has the reverse effect of decreasing swelling. The article says thats a natural reaponse to an injury and that it helps heal, but so is bleeding from a wound, and most people would rather stop the bleeding with treatment.

I'll have to look into this a lot more before I'm convinced.

Have you done much with ice baths after training? Sorry to take it slightly off tangent. But I am doing some intense training lately and trying to boost my recovery times. There are articles that say it is a good thing but I figure with your background you might have some insight into it.

I was never big into icing. i think just because the process of icing for 15-20 min at a time was annoying. when i did ice i feel that it Just gives me the illusion of healing because i always heard it was the right thing to do and because it numbs the pain, like the article said. what works best for me is lots of stretching and foam rolls after training

its hard to make a decision when these god damn scientists are changing Their minds every Day.
