Im just guessing but you'd probably have to be good looking and find a subtle (or not so subtle) way to point out you make decent cash. I have a feeling "nice guy" is what most guys put up because they think thats what they should put up, so amongst that you have to stand out.

Since okcupid clearly matches you with people who have a similarly-rated attractiveness score, I'm wondering if it is worth it to make some fake female profiles and give yourself 5-star ratings?

It would cause you to be displayed in the "you might like" cue of more attractive girls.

I can verify this. From what I can gather, it takes a certain amount of "4-5 star" ratings in quickmatch before you enter the "more attractive" pool. I have no idea how elaborate the algorithm is, but if it's pretty simple his scheme of using fake profiles to rate himself might work.

perhaps it is no wonder that my rate of banging hot chicks was pretty high when all there were put in front of me where the best looking - and more importantly, my profile was put in front of the hot ones.

good to note - if and when i'm ever back in the pool i'll be sure to use that old profile so to keep that rating... dayum.

Lie in your profile details on the right and don't mention money in your profile.

Bizzare that OKCupid would keep the good looking girls away from the normal guys. I can see guys rushing to rate any half decent girl 5 stars hoping it'll get them attention but can't see as many girls rating guys.

So far, not very well.

The problem is primarily at this point getting chicks to even read the profile. I am using different pictures than I did when I had the success last year.

I grew a beard in the last year and while my gf absolutely loves it, it appears (as I suspected) that most chicks don't.

I did the "Rate my face" thing on there and my bearded pictures got shit ratings versus the ones I used in my past profile.

I just got those results back.

so i'll change out those pictures for the old ones that worked well and got decent ratings.

I have reached out to a few girls and have gotten about a 75% response rate but no numbers or (fake) dates yet.

reactions to the profile have been muted but I think getting the email response rate that I have is a good sign.

one thing i've learned is that I ever break up with this girl, first thing to go is the beard.

clearly, i like it too. but if i were trying to optimize my chances of getting the most women interested in me, i realize that the beard would have to go.

well i'm going thru the quickmatch right now giving ratings and based on the number of 1's vs. the number of 4 and 5's the 'hot' pool isnt going to be very crowded
