The most amusing thing about this shitty piece is that only a few of the kids look hapa period.

The kids on the screen time glamour shots look racially mixed but the others in the background look entirely filipino. They are probably mostly bastard children from local filipino players which is the norm.

They make it seem like it's all foreigners squirting out kids left and right but in my experience it's a serious local problem.

There's a shitload of single moms here and very few have foreign baby daddy from my experience. I've banged several women engaged, married, or dating foreign men but not many who have kids and were abandoned by foreign lovers. It's not epidemic proportions that's for sure.

Running after impregnating your girlfriend is a national sport in the Philippines that's more widely played than basketball.

won't bring up or probe your income aside from your basic occupation.

they don't care about where you live for the most part. It's not even on their radar and if you're staying in an upscale place they feel shy there.

most don't possess a passport.

they have a family history and tree that's comprehensible. Everything they say about each relative you meet checks out.

Loaner not debtor mentality. The 10-20% who provides for the rest. Unfortunately they are burdened in many ways.

Another perspective..

Don't destroy the good ones.

Lots of good filipinas out there working in metro manila grinding it out for the extended family.

I've met a lot and they have a pretty shit life for the most part living in shitty female boarding houses, working lame retail jobs, and climbing up a very narrow ladder one rung at a time with all aspects of filipino crab culture dragging them down.

I sometimes wonder if the "crab culture" is more than just a Filipino thing. I'm not Flip, but am SE-Asian-American, and my dad's side of the family, which is less "hi-so," (but is still well-off) also has some of this "crab culture" (which is why I don't associate with them).

Hey man, thanks for finding my kids!

It’s been really hard tracking them down even though their Mom's have no trouble tracking me every month with friendly reminders about increasing expenses. I’m happy to send the extra I can and wish I had more, but with 8 kids already over there at $500/month each I send, well it kinda adds up.

I don’t mind though, because I know the money is going to the right place when I send it to her.

I just wish she would let me see them in person. Whenever I try to make plans there is always some excuse. Always seems one of their Aunt Lovely’s are graduating "somewhere in Mindanao”.

Wish I didn’t have to be here in the West working in an Office Space full of everything I dislike about my country. I laughed too, but knew that wasn’t the reason why.

It's not just a filipino thing but it's much more pronounced in filipino culture. Most Thais don't mercilously fuck each other over and freeload in the same way filipinos often do. Viets don't do it to the same extreme level either. You'll get plenty of petty criminal types ripping each other off in southeast asia but not to the level of filipino on filipino stuff I have seen and heard of. It's this mentality which keeps filipinos down....it's no secret they even say as much themselves.

This is why the government treats the people in the P.I. like children.

Everything is locked down and secured away. Security is over the top at times. Bureaucracy consists of nanny state type paperwork and safeguards. There's just little common respect for public space and rights because the culture is such that people simply don't trust each other in this way.

For instance in Thailand in most of the nice condo buildings i've stayed in there's security but it's minimal at times. Just the usual card swipes and outside security. Nothing too intrusive or over the top.

However in the P.I. you'll have a guard (sometimes armed) at every conceivable entry way, frisks, CCTV, security who want you to sign in and out or show ID everywhere on the premises, and even food deliveries are watched closely.

This is the cultural environment. It didn't just become this way out of nowhere...

My brother was in Philippines last year and he said it was like the '' White Men Paradise''.

He literally could have banged like 20 women in his 1 week staying over there, but he said to me the quality was low in general.

I was at the Pool Club and noticed the drink prices have been slashed down. A hennesy + coke costs around 55 Pesos, which is a little over dollar. I don't know if this is a promo, but one hell of a deal, and actually making me re-evaluate my online strategy, if you can skip the cover. Looks like every Friday but will have to check next week.

Talent levels were pretty good, and the dance floor wasn't too packed. I saw lots of 6.5 with a few 7/8 sprinkled in.

Putin, is this the Pool Club over at Valkyrie in the Fort?

P55 seems really cheap for a high end place like that.

The last time I went there unless you got bottle service, your only option was to use the bar at the very rear of the pool area on the upper level near the entrance. It was also pretty quiet.

If the drink prices have come down to what you say they have for imported spirits I may well have to venture over there and check out the situation!

Yep, this was at the top area of Pool Club, next to Valkyrie. I was shocked also. Apparently its a frequent promo they run each Friday. I got a round of drinks for the pale chick's friends and it cost me around $7. Maybe they realized they needed to drive some traffic? There's only a set of three mixed drinks you can choose from, so its not like a free for all. The Henessy Coke is the best mix by far.

I did get in for free through an acquaintance, so I'm sure there is a cover charge built in to the price, but still its a pretty sweet deal. Perhaps they do this to get the cute chicks, while face controling the non-rich guys either with a high cover or dress code.

This said, for longtime stays it can be really a very good area in the Phils.

Can you clarify on why it would be good for long term stays and not short term? I'm also curious why logistics would be worse in Cebu then Manila, with Cebu being much smaller and everything I've read comparing the two, it seems Cebu would be the more accessible city while in Manila it seems you pretty much pick an area like Makati and stay in it because getting around sucks.

I'm planning on going to SEA for two months this winter and Cebu seems like a great city to base out of, taking multiple side trips from there, but I'd also want to spend a significant amount of time there. There's just so much contradictory information about Cebu on the forum.

^^ I have been to Cebu on two different occasions. Three weeks on both vacations. Here's my two cents. If your looking for a place to visit for two weeks with easy cute girls. This is a good spot. I was also looking to live in Cebu for acouple months but, after thinking things over will decide to go somewhere else. There is just nothing to do and the place is a shit hole. Sure, you have a couple night clubs, a couple malls, swimming with whale sharks in Oslob, Mactan island resots. But, thats about it. The place is depressing. On both my trips after about fifteen days I was ready to go somewhere else.

It starts with the aspect that standard low-end internet-connections (those you will have on your cellphones or hotels), you can simply forget.
People who live here, have obviously long-term high-end contracts with reliable and stable high-speed Inet (for filipino terms) with companies like PLDT.
-> less Datingsite-and tinder-success in Cebu than in Manila where the Inet is better (even the lower-end one).

Then you have not sooo many many areas in cebu which are catered towards this dynamic (foreigners <-> filipinas), which makes for easier lays -> still a lot of options and also the ''non-easy-lays'' are not really hard (especially not for a decent %-tage of men who are active in this community, I would strongly guess) , but we are just comparing here and Manila is not beatable in such terms.

Finally there is just an empirical experience-observation:
Many people who stay and live here longtime and have stayed before a longer amount of time in Manila as well, just really do love to live in Cebu and value it as a long-time residency higher than Manila <-> Many people who have stayed here short-time and also have stayed short-time in Manila, are compared to their stays in Manila kinda disappointed from Cebu.

Traffic in Cebu unfortunately nowadays is also very sick at least in the more busy areas in Cebu (Lahug, Fuente, Ayala Area, etc.)

Still, i do not want you to discourage from coming here and enjoying Cebu.
It is always individual and it is not that there would be not still many people who have loved their short-time stays in Cebu and when you still plan to also visit some neighbouring islands and experience some more areas, then i think Cebu should be the better option for you.

I don't really have any friends here, most of the Filipino guys I know are weird. We could also try to pick up girls or something, as my car's a bitch getter. Anywhere outside of Makati is worth a shot these days. Paranaque which is right beside it is a pretty dense area and has a lot of middle class. Alabang is not far from Las Pinas either.

Personally I like Quezon city to the north and Alabang to the south the most. I'll be staying near mega mall next time around though as that's an area I don't frequent much and i've been curious about.

I try to stay within proximity of the MRT as well. I rarely use it but it makes it easier for even the laziest girls to meet.

^ Megamall (Ortigas) is a nice area but traffic is awful so you'd be pretty much isolated, and it's a bit of a small place to be isolated in. It seems like it's a good location between QC and Makati but it ends up not being so, since it's so hard to get in and out of there due to the traffic.

You'd be surprised how many girls would lose all excitement to meet once they hear the word "MRT". Especially if you're aiming for middle class girls and up.
