The prettiest girls I've seen in two weeks: the flight attendants and the women working retail in the mall(market, market wearing the aqua colored dresses). Neat hair and makeup are critical for all women but it seems to do even more for pinays.

Another thing: bad teeth is a huge turnoff for me. She can be cute as a button but if she's got teeth going every direction its a bonerkiller. Most women here either have fucked up teeth or they have braces even in their late 20s and 30s. Better late than never i guess.

I've counted on one hand dudes that actually look like they lift around here. Even the foreigners. So keep hitting it hard and dress well to stand out even more.

Good stuff deneuk. I'm a welder back home in California. I could see the value in training overseas if you can get a company to give you a shot even if the certs aren't "accredited". I couldn't weld out here in the heat for the money these locals make. Hell i barely tolorate it stateside working on old rusted ships needing repairs. Dirty work. Hard work.

Yes working in the heat in the PH kills you, I've done a couple of jobs in construction around Davao, gained so much respect for the construction workers.

They work in the burning heat for 12 hours a day 7 days a week for a couple of months straight get paid P250 a day, live in a wooden hut, cook, eat, shit on site.

As for the training, I think I've never sweated so much in my life, overalls just completely white from salt stains.

It's amazing really. Everyday I see them either going to work or on site in big boots, jeans, a jumper; a hard hat and some sort of cloth thing to cover their face. Then there's me wearing nothing but shorts and flip flops drenched in sweat from a simple walk to buy lunch, boiling my balls off.

You can't help but have major respect for them and wonder how they cope with the heat.

Deneuk: how did you end up working construction in and around Davao? It must of been a hell of an experience.

Ehmm... just think of it like this, you get what you pay for. Facilities aren't very good, welding machines have no amp meters, which is a good thing as you really learn to set your amps yourself and not relying on a number. Welding rods are from china which isn't ideal either but, if you learn whit shitty crap equipment it will only make it easier when you get to work with decent equipment I guess...

The staff is okay tho, very friendly and helpful and you'll get a free pickup from the airport if you arrive during the day. They helped me sort out cheap accommodation but I think these condo's aren't available because the building has a new owner.

And yes there are a couple of foreigners that train at this school every year, I think there are 2 brits training there atm.

Yes it is legal as a foreigner with a tourist visa to own, register, tax, insure, etc... It is about as easy a process as it could be. Nothing like trying to buy one in Thailand.

I have about £1500 (not including flight) to spend on everything. Ideally I'd like to stay for 2 or more weeks.

I'm not bothered too much about living conditions as long as it is in a decent area.

I just booked into Harolds Hotel (it's not the cheapest but they do a great bfast, it has a gym and it's pretty close to everywhere I go a lot - Ayala, IT Park, Mango)

The Cebu Grand is cheaper, further from Ayala but closer to Mango but still central.

When are you going?

Manila is the worst city I've ever been in my life. Worst traffic and urban planning in the world. Maybe the most incompetent government I've ever seen. And the women for the most part look like little boys. It's probably 1/500 that are bangable. A 1:1 hip to waist ratio, with a little chubby belly and b cups is not attractive to me.
On the other hand, Thailand is much better. The Asian women are better and you can find super hot Russians on the beaches.

She is in Cebu and 25 years old and she says she is a virgin and never had a bf. She told me she had " online boyfriends " over the years from other countries. As someone lucky enough to have lived in China in the 00s, I can say 99% it's going to get worse -- and, at some point, it's going to be no easier here than in the west. Maybe even worse.

I feel sorry for the guys in upcoming generations. Unless there's some kind of revolution, things are going to be very grim.
