The thing about the RVF, due to us all being grown men, matters are discussed and it is fully expected that evidence be brought forward and ideas/information be substantiated. Readers can make up their own minds.

This certainly beats having the local newscaster provide an opinion or a news story on a topic that they know absolutely nothing about.

People who get into journalism are English literature majors. They really don't have even a layman's knowledge of climatology, international relations or history. They're generally motivated only by some abstract desire to experience the excitement, status and lifestyle that a they imagine a successful journalist will enjoy.

The industry, now more than ever, is a simple corporate style rat-race. The people most likely to do real journalism probably don't last long.

By contrast, the RVF is full of men successful who are experts in a range of fields -- they aren't just journalists who write stories about whatever might get the most page clicks. I definitely find far more value in the forums analysis and breakdown of news stories than anything from the MSM. I've simply stopped reading news from traditional sources.

Watched the 2006 Superman Returns movie for the first time last night. It's ridiculous how beta the Clark Kent character is. Even as superman, he acts more alpha in terms of mannerisms, but he flirts with her then refuses to go for the fuck close. Lame!
