I've never been to BKK but have been to Manila, several times. I know in Manila it worked for me on all of my trips. My friend just came back from BKK And told me that he had girls literally lining up for him, he met them ALL on Tinder. I'll be in BKK sometime this year, if finances work out.

Reliable - generally yes Cheap? More so than the west. There are clinics that are geared towards tourists and I'm finding their prices increasingly outrageous. Pro-tip, if you end up with a decent Thai middle class chick with braces, ask her to take you to her dentist. It will be of decent quality and much cheaper than the BIDC's and Smile Clinics etc.

Got a checkup/cleaning done at Bangkok smile.

Very nice facilities and seemingly professional staff, but couldn't help but felt a little upsold when they quoted me 10,000 baht for some fillings.

It may still be much cheaper than your home country especially if you are from the North America or Australia, but you still need to be careful which dental clinic you choose in Thailand. All the major cities or Tourist destinations have clinics that cater to wealthy Thais, expats and medical tourism, stay away from these if you want to save some cash. If you want to pay middle class Thai prices here is sample of what you should be looking at; 500 - 800 baht for a check up and cleaning, 500 - 600 baht for fillings and 3500 baht for a root canal. If you cannot find a reasonable price in metro BK and are not heading upcountry, try some of the smaller cities and towns near BK, like Nakhon Pathom or Samut Sakhon.

I had good experience with MOS clinic, prices about what Kamaki4 quoted for cleaning and check-up.

Just curious what the visa situation is like these days for tourist visa guys. I was on a work permit for a while so I did not need to worry about this stuff. Now that I don't have it I will be a tourist visa citizen for a while. Has anyone had any problems recently with being here long term on a TV? I remember they were cracking down a while ago but things have seemed to calm down. Any input or recent news of anything would be appreciated.

My friends all have several single entries and have had no issues. There does seem to be the odd isolation case where someone is rejected and it gets blown up on Thai Visa.

Yeah I wrote a post about it in this thread earlier this year. He got some heat a few weeks ago but most of the time the girls are just posting pictures of models or guys they like. Very rarely do they give shit to guys. Nothing to worry about unless you are stupid enough to have a youtube channel in your own name sharing pictures and videos of girls you are dating.

Yes - I'm having major trouble getting a bank account opened this time on a tourist visa - was easy to open BKK Bank account last time with Internet banking too, not now. They wouldn't even reopen my accounts. Tried Kasikorn (green one) and Krungthai ( light blue one) - all asked for work permit. Will try UOB tomorrow. Gonna try in the lower Sukhumvit area where most farang are.

Even showed the 1-year rental contract, no dice. This could be a major problem.

Not mine, but I know the person who runs it very, very well. Good friend of mine and is my go-to for anything and in return I give her ad space. I actually gave her the idea after I was getting so many requests for help. I did it once and the dude turned out to be gay and hit on me, so pretty much stopped after that.

Try Kasikorn in Big C Onnut. They seemed very open to foreigners.

Bangkok Bank will open but you need to open it at the main location in Silom. They speak english there. The other branches dont generally know very well
