Don't even get me started on accommodation in France. when I lived there in '07, Paris was the hardest place in the world to find an apartment. Demand greatly outstrips supply there.

To get a French bank account, you needed an address and proof of utility bills. To get an apartment, you needed a French bank account.

I am posting this to find out if anyone has successfully apartment shared in Bogota? I'm going to be there somewhere between Nov 1. - Dec. 12 and searching online I see a lot of very expensive postings. 1.5-2 million cop is a little more than I want to spend.

Is it only like this because I'm looking online? Will I find better local prices in the paper and through contacts? (I speak Spanish so I'm not worried about the gringo price.)

Also, are there any sites anyone here has successfully used to find room mates? I just don't want to be cock-blocked by getting a room on AirBnB and not being able to bring girls back... which leads me to my next option. I'm sure people here would vouch for me not being a weirdo and decent guy - would anyone here be interested in apt sharing?

I'm a clean guy, agreeable, I'd say good game when I invest my energy in approaching (can't be bothered to approach NA girls). I also am sharpening my Spanish skills. 6 Months ago I didn't know a word, now its only a few words here and there I don't recognize. I also can dance decently, but I rarely drink.

Missed my flight to cancun today. Catching the first flight out of oil country tomorrow.

Each phone is 100USD profit for me in Belize. I already got a phone dealer waiting on them. Jordan slippers are huge down there two. These are gifts though but I could get 50 bucks profit from them. Its cool to make a little cash while you are on vacation.

My next trip to Rio will be fully paid by the IPhone 6. I got some Cubans in Miami who can get their hands on more then a few for me within the first month of release. I have three already waiting plus a phone guy who was to break bread with me. I want to find my own customers first before i let somebody else in.

Hardest part is explaining that all these phones are gifts. Belize ill be straight but in Brazil, it would be hard to get more then three past them. Especially because I would want them to be unopened. We will see.

Belize be careful. If you're caught you will have to pay the tax on them. I was advised by a couple of Brazilians to NOT even to attempt this.

I also thought about dong that in my trips to Brasil but was also advised against it by my Brasilian friends. If caught, tax is 100% or they'll simply seize it.

From the pictures, it looks like the gent is possibly a doctor, checking your IV, and that you are in some kind of quasi-open bay... which may mean that you are in the emergency treatment area, rather than in the regular lodging area?

I know that traveling in and of itself can wear you down and maybe even cause more need for sleep and nutrition and exercise to recover adequately... Whenever I travel, I have difficulties fitting these things in, and I know that now that I am in my late 40s, I do NOT have as much stamina that I had when I was younger, and I constantly need to pay attention to these kinds of details to attempt to fit them in.

When I was in my 20s and even 30s, I could give a ratt's ass, because I kind of thought that I was invincible.. but I have changed some of my habits over the years... yet I understand that if you switch locations, then it may take some adapting to the new circumstances, which may cause additional stress on your body.. and if you do NOT recover sufficiently to the earlier ailment, then you may be more vulnerable to suffering another ailment.... and then maybe even experimenting with different kinds of remedies because your usual remedies may NOT be easily found.

Hopefully, you can recover and get your electrolyte balance restored... and get enough salt too, in the event you may have lost some of that.... Coconut water is supposed to be really good, and I try to drink that stuff frequently for those kinds of hydration purposes.... better than some of the man-made products, in my humble bumble opinion.

The funny thing is that I have never been living so healthy when I've been travelling like on this trip. No smokes, no booze and no bad food. Have done some exercises every day when it's been possible. Still, the shit falls on me like never before.

When I've recovered from this I will probably fly home and take care of some business and charge my batteries. And hit the road again when I'm ready to roll.
