I am directing a co-worker (who is recently divorced at 44) to this forum and thread. He asked me yesterday for an online dating site that is best for guys over 40 to meet women 30-35. He wasn't into the younger women in their 20s, and didn't sound too interested in trying Tinder. Any suggestions appreciated.

In the USA, all online dating sucks for all but a very few men with photogenic faces, especially men seeking photogenic and significantly younger women (your friend wants a 10+ age diff). Tons of threads on this forum come to the same conclusion: women mostly use online dating to boost their self-esteem by receiving attention from men whom they will never agree to meet. Men with average looking faces who spend lots of time fooling around with online dating find their self-esteem gradually being crushed. There are rare exceptions to this dismal rule, of course, but our actions should be guided by the rule, not the exceptions.

At one time, seeking.com (formerly seeking arrangement) could be used for men in their 40's with money but average faces, to get access to nice women in their young 20's. It was then up to the man to make sure the relationship turned into a real one versus P4P. Not sure if seeking.com was ever good for women in their 30's. Where I live, seeking.com has gone to hell in the past few years for all age groups.

If your friend is open to another marriage, maybe he can advertise himself as Mr Beta Bucks ready to wife up a fat single mother in her young 30's with ill-behaved children from a deadbeat who can't pay child support. Helluva friend you'd be recommending such a course of action.

Just sat no to online dating in the USA unless you score really high on HotOrNot for your face, and even then it's dubious. (Not sure if HotOrNot still operating, should be something like it if not.) By saying no, you force yourself to get out there and meet women in person, where they are not so judgemental about facial looks. I've given up on women in the USA entirely myself and now go to Ukraine, but then I'm retired. Obviously, not everyone can do like me.

Well said. Online in the US is dismal at best unless you have the looks. Hell Tinder and the other swipe apps are based on mostly looks and age. If you are older like the folks in this thread, you need to be leveraging attractive qualities that women are turned on by other than physical looks. Such as dominance, positivity, assertiveness, power, personality, going after what you want. And all of those other good things. Online actually works against these things because you are not able to display them very well.

But if you go into the wine store and start up a conversation with an attractive woman, mix in a little charm and you get to demonstrate all of these attractive qualities quite quickly, causing her to possibly forget about your age or you're less than perfect looks. But if you go online she sees almost none of these things. But she does see your photo, and your age prominently displayed. Causing her to dismiss you immediately.

I have done the EE and the central Europe thing and will be going back. The opportunity is much better.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — A fire captain was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after walking into a convenience store completely naked.

WHDH reported that John H. Walsh, 60, walked into a 7-11 without any clothes on after girlfriend, Tammy McDougal, 29, dared him to go inside and purchase a Diet Coke.

According to the store clerk, who wished to remain anonymous, Walsh approached the counter with a “smile on his face.”

“It’s not funny at all,” the cashier said in an interview. “In fact, it’s very scary when you have someone come in, completely naked in the middle of the day. He was extremely comfortable in the store, handed me the Coke, and smiled, never said anything.”

The cashier also believes McDougal should face consequences, as well.

“It’s absolutely the worst thing that ever occurred in my life. I really think this man should have to register as a sex offender. What he did is horrible,” she said. “What his girlfriend did was horrible, and she should be charged as well.”

Walsh was appointed to the Lynnfield Fire Department in 1979 by Chief Glenn Davis, who said the department is taking the situation “very seriously.” Walsh is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.

Lol, I know all the fat tricks. The majority face pics, the cropped pic, the far away pic, or the famous Instagram one knee out pose. I was getting some decent chicks on Hinge, but it has become inundated with overweight women in my area.
Online apps are garbage as far as quality women (overall) because they tend to attract certain personality types. I read an article recently that said that 27% of single American women use dating apps. This gave me so much hope because I was starting to think the women I've met were truly a reflection of women in today's society. We gotta get out there find them in person, stop being lazy with online dumpster diving. That same article said men outnumber women 9 to 1 on dating apps. Just having the balls to pick-up a women in person will set you apart from most of the guys who rely solely on online game.


On a side note, I had a [miserably] married homie (who avidly flirts with young women) try to cock-block me so hard on a little 23 y.o. Tilted Kilt waitress he coaxed into joining us for drinks after her shift. She knew he was married and it was clear her interest was gravitating towards me. Once she inquired if I was single and what my story was, before I could open my mouth, he answered for me "he's been married before and has kids older than you," lol. She picked up on it as well and we both smiled. I look half my age, so this only interested her more.
Admittedly, I like his style, cuz he'll flirt hard, an if she bites, he'll work in the fact that he's married later after the hook is set. If she rejects, he plays it off like "hey I'm married, I was just being nice." It's like a nothing to lose type approach. He's been envious of all the ladies he sees me with, but I keep trying to tell him quality is hard to find. He's one reason, I don't ever think I'll get married or live with a woman again.

You have to be ruthless with women like that, tell them you need to see a picture of her waist, Rated G OK, because there are a lot of fat girls who have closely cropped pictures like that and your time is too valuable to waste like that. Women have qualms about asking your height, job, age, etc. so be just as ruthless.

In terms of younger women, if you haven't seen its worth watching the early 80s' flick "10" with Bo Derek. She of course was stunning but its also interesting for her attitudes and the fact that the film portrays her relationship with the married and much older Dudley Moore.

Since I started Keto, I have lost almost 40 lbs, but I am concerned about loss of muscle. For you older guys, how does this look as a starting point? Logistically I can't join a gym, so its all home gym dumb bell stuff.

I have been doing this workout for a couple weeks, but figured I should get some input.

The only ab stuff I have been doing is various forms of planking.
For cardio I pretty much only walk, and do stairs. According to my fit bit I average around 14 000 steps a day.

Daily BCAA in the morning helps prevent muscle atrophy is what I’ve been told and do. I’ve been cutting for some quite some time and still fear eating in a surplus to pack on more muscle. I told myself Once I get within the BMI index, I’ll feel comfortable bulking. I’ve lost roughly 120lbs on keto, then intermittent fasting (which I’ve been doing for the past two years).

I'm new here, so I'm gonna be looking at lots of info here to get myself back in the game again. The game being...women.

I've had my healing time, and I'm still learning the mistakes I've made on handling women.

Congrats man, 120 lbs is no joke!

I just got my Xtend BCAA powder yesterday, so that will be going into my post workout shakes. I am on full keto and pretty extreme intermittent fasting.

Morning Coffee with coconut oil,
Lunch around 1:30 is a hard boiled egg, and an almond milk smoothie with Psyllium fiber, spinach and 1/3 cup berries. I will be adding the BCAA to the smoothie.
Supper is at 5:30/6 pm and is the only full meal. I try to vary flavors and foods as much as possible while staying in the keto zone. Most days I keep my gross carbs under 30 and my net carbs under 15. Seems to be working so far.

I did buy a "smart scale" as well, I know they are not perfect, but this one shows me my current stats:
BMI 27.9
Body fat 24.4%
Fat Free weight 126.4 lbs
Subcutaneous Fat 21.3%
Visceral Fat 10%
Body Water 54%
Skeletal Muscle 48.8%
Muscle Mass 120.2 lbs
Bone Mass 6.4 lbs
Protein 17.3%
BMR 1609 kcal
Metabolic Age 51 (shitty since I am only 48, gotta get that fat % down)

Honestly I don't know how accurate that info is, but it gives me an idea of where I am at least.

I think now that I am lifting I may need to up my protein. I was listening to this guy (below video) who recommended 1.2 grams of protein per kg of lean body weight. I assume that means the weight you should be if you're not a fat bastard like me.
