RE: Older Guys (40+)
Linus Pauling, double Nobel prize winner, coined the term orthomolecular medicine. His prize in chemistry in 1954 was related to quantum mechanics, and his second was the Peace Prize.

As for the Dunning-Kruger effect, it did not seem to apply to Loius Pasteur when he pioneered the germ theory of infection. More recently, it prevented the discovery of the role of the bacterium H.Pylori in causing stomach tumors and cancer. Medical science could not comprehend that such a simple cause could be the source of such disease. It also often prevents medical science from seeing the difference between correlation and causation so, for example, they are willing to sell you statins (which have their own side effects) to reduce your cholesterol when there is little evidence that cholesterol causes heart disease. Dr. Pauling for example recommended mega doses of Vitamin C and the amino acid lysine to improve arterial health. His view was that heightened cholesterol was a normal bodily response to arterial disease, a symptom of this disease rather than the cause. Such a view was even more threatening to the drug companies and medical establishment than the H.Pylori hypothesis was.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Linus Pauling seems legit. That "Dr." Wallach and George Noory in the podcast though... came off terribly. Noory went on about a friend of his that got a colonoscopy for abdominal pain (when any doctor worth their salt knows he needed a CT), but really had appendicitis... all of this to say that modern medicine "kills people."

I encourage you to read everything and anything if you're interested, I'd just be very careful about medical advice.

If you developed eye pain, nausea and a headache, would you think to be concerned for acute angle glaucoma? Would you even know what that is? Would you know how to test for and treat it?

What about nasal septal pain/swelling 2 days s/p nasal bone fracture? Would you be worried? Should you be worried?

Acute onset lip swelling... what are you concerned for? What would you do?

Failure to treat acute angle glaucoma, permanent vision loss. Not diagnosing a nasal septal hematoma, local tissue necrosis. Angioedema, death.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is hugely relevant, especially in medicine. If you want to talk treatment options in the outpatient setting or pathogenesis of various disease process, go right ahead. You may not value the cardiologist for their statins, but there's plenty of people alive right now w/ WPW, HOCM, acute MIs s/p PCI/tPA etc because those same cardiologists are already standing on the shoulders of giants w/ treatments that didn't exist 100 years ago.

Read through the medical records of the patients in the CCU and tell me that anybody but a physician would know what the hell is going. Would the economist know how to titrate the pt off the mechanical ventilator while managing the sedation and minimizing ICU delirium? Would the engineer be able to identify the causes and treat acute hypoxia in that same intubated pt? An economist and an engineer are definitely smart enough to learn about these things, but w/o med school, residency and maybe fellowship, their intelligence helps little when it matter most.

Sorry to derail this thread. I said my piece b/c too many forum members speak w/ too much authority about medical topics w/o actually having ever managed critically ill patients and their families. Experience matters...

A critical view of Roosh:

https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/...oosh-Obama

Everyone thinks that Linus Pauling is the main man about orthomolecular medicine and that it's all bogus.

The reality is that there countless doctors out there with decades of experience.

I could literally prove it to everyone of you by waltzing in your door giving you vitamin C in sufficient doses so that the cold/medicine works exactly like some ad commercials. And this is the easy stuff.

When I talked about self-taught engineers being better at treating certain conditions with mega-dose vitamin therapy, I did not mean that I knew more about medicine, but when MDs are lied to constantly about simple means of treatment, then you can be the best in the field - if all you are taught is to prescribe more patentable pills vs non-patentable nutrients, then that is what you will do.

The hubris lies rather in refusal to look into an issue when it comes from a massive amounts of doctors out there:

http://www.doctoryourself.com/

Entire books are on that site.

http://orthomolecular.org/

Huge site with many studies.

Whatever - read your pharma-and-mainstream-funded quackwatch, SPLC and Snopes - plus leftie dominated Wikipedia, Twatter and Huffpo. I am sure that all of it is the beacon of unmanipulated knowledge.

Guys somehow assume that THEY WOULD NOT LIE ABOUT MEDICINE as if they could lie about gender, feminism, male and female psychology, politics, monetary policy, weapons of mass destruction, diet, food additives, but the buck somehow stops at lying about non-patentable vitamins:

Quote:"Vitamins ought to be regulated as drugs, because they have pharmacological effects at high doses."

No, vitamins are foods. Specifically, vitamins are usually coenzymes. They are necessary for basic life functions. Drugs are different. Basic bodily functions do not require drugs. Metabolism may be affected by drugs, but bodies were metabolizing long before drugs were cooked up. Metabolism IS vitamin dependent. Without vitamins, you die.

Drugs are vastly more dangerous than vitamins. (http://www.doctoryourself.com/news/v1n1.html ) Drugs are vastly more expensive. And drugs are vastly LESS versatile. Niacin can lower cholesterol, relieve anxiety, stop psychotic behavior, AND cure nutritional deficiency (pellagra). Thiamin can rebuild damaged myelin on the nerve fibers of MS patients ( http://www.doctoryourself.com/calcdef.html ) AND cure beriberi. Vitamin C is an antibiotic, antiviral and antihistamine, AND cures scurvy in its spare time. In all these cases, the difference is the dose. It is in the high dosages that vitamins have effectiveness against diseases. There is no drug can cure a nutritional deficiency.

Vitamins can work as drugs, but drugs can never work as vitamins.

The pharmaceutical industry stands to gain bigtime by eliminating your free access to megavitamins, their biggest competitor.

I am occasionally putting out infos regarding orthomolecular medicine, because it's the most effective one for certain conditions and smaller as well as bigger diseases - plus massively superior for prevention.

That does not mean that doctors are to be blamed for this except for those at the very top, and it does not mean that all knowledge and all fields are corrupted - surgeries, trauma treatment, diagnosis, dealing with fungi and parasites - the mainstream does those things extremely well. In terms of prevention, safe real healing of minor and major chronic conditions, diet - that is insanely bad. Depression for example can be quickly healed with a good multi, vitamin D3 and 500-2000 mg of l-tryptophan. The entire multi-billion-anti-depression pharma market can be scrapped - in it's entirety. And the best part is that they know it which explains why they managed to ban l-tryptophan in higher doses for some time in the US.

Whatever - it's not cooks and quacks on the other side, but highly capable doctors and as I said - anyone can prove himself the efficacy easily enough - it's child-play really.

I don't really know what your point is. You propose that C vitamins can cure cancer? Have I understood you correctly?

< I never said anything about that, but if you want to get technical - vitamin C infusions can actually help heal some cancers and I know personally one person who managed to reverse stage IV liver cancer (was sent home saying that they could not do anything) with vit C infusions and diet change. But that is a special kind of limited cancer - in most cases vitamin C won't be anywhere near enough, but can supplement the healing process. Plus there are big studies out there that are being done of chemo-patients getting vitamin C infusions on top and having highly mitigated side-effects, retaining their hair due to vitamin C. IN those cases the mega-vitamin-doses keep you just more healthy while the chemo attacks the cancer. Generally I did not even mean cancer by this, because that is a different kind of disease that cannot be just addressed with nutrients. Other major conditions however can.

But I guess you are just throwing shit around and see what sticks?

Can you guys derail another thread with this ortho and vitamin and quack doctor BS? Mainly, Zel, I mean geezus another overly analytical post with random internet research? Maybe we can keep this thread to relevant 40+ topics only? Also, what about speaking of our experiences instead of this shit?

Speaking of which....

(09-29-2018 03:41 PM)doc holliday Wrote:  So some food for thought on this Saturday. Two days ago one of my closest college buddies died of a heart attack. He had just turned 50 a couple of months ago. He was one of my closest friends when I was in college, we grew and became men together along with a few other of us. We'd go out all the time to clubs and bars , wing for each other and pick up chicks. He was lifting some furniture with his estranged wife and he had a heart attack. He died in the ambulance. The guy was an athlete back then, great soccer player so it's really hard to imagine this happening to him. I hadn't seen him in a couple years so he may have had some underlying medical condition going on and I saw on a recent youtube video he had promoting his business that he had gained some weight. Nothing crazy mind you but a little weight gain.My buddy who called me to let me know said that he was under a lot of stress running his business so who knows. The guy is leaving behind two younger kids.

Life is short. Sometimes very short. I think that things really change when you get to 50. So many people tell me how the body begins to really break down. I live healthy and I'm in really good physical shape but now I'm not sure how much that's going to help me. When the perfect storm hits your body, there's not much you can do. Growing old is no joke and for the younger guys reading this, don't waste time, it's too precious. It's the one commodity that you cannot make more of.

I saw doc on Friday and drank to his friend, may his soul rest in peace. We furthered the conversation and spoke about accomplishments in general. I turned 40 earlier this year.

I found game and this forum only about 7 years ago. I was already married, had a great career and started having kids. I have 3 now. It was a VERY slow process to deprogram my beta self and red pill myself. During that time, I did many approaches, got myself in better shape (had no size or physicality before) and changed careers drastically to essentially own my own business.

In light of all that I have accomplished, the women are such a miniscule and irrelevant part of my life (other than my wife). 7 years ago, I highly regretted not having been with a lot of women. It ate at me so much that I sacrificed my family relationships to fulfill that ego gap. The women themselves were an utter waste of time, while the game aspects, including fitness, being a better husband, and better father were not. However, I may be rare in that I had the option to apply game to other aspects of my life that were already there for me.

Many guys I know, on and off the forum are in their 40s, and are still focusing a lot of their effort on banging random tail at the cost of never having a family and moving their legacy forward. Some are then complaining that good women don't exist in the west. Out of these, some of these men go to an eastern country and bang non-western women, while others just sit in their basement and jack off to the political extrapolation of this or just porn. At least the former I have respect for.

Since I had a family already, I think I lucked out in that I had something to compare to unlike the gentlemen that are taking to non-western women instead. Not only in comparison, I think I lucked out in actually having something valuable from my beta days that I was able to transform into what I now consider extremely relevant to both my legacy and my worth as a man.

My point is that banging random women is only part of a man's worth. Same with having a family (which I personally believe is the most important). As men over their 40s, I think it's important to reflect on what we have accomplished as men beyond banging random tail. When we do bang random tail, at what opportunity cost at this age are we doing so? Aside from the kids and family aspect, how about careers and making a difference? How about fitness. The reality is this: there are men I know my age or above that have a great career and are huge players but they feel empty due to the lack of something more. Then there are other men, that have great careers, got married, banged random tail and feel fully lived.

Myself and some other men may have gotten lucky in discovering all aspects of masculinity and red pill values, but I feel for the men that always wanted that, banged random tail anyways, and now feel they have a gap because they wish they could have changed courses early. Just opening up this topic, which I would even call the opportunity cost of game.

We should talk about this more openly as men.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Not having normal experiences with women does eat at me on occasion. It does anger me at times that I missed out on my best years ( 20s, 30s, early 40's ) with women because of the just-be-yourself bullshit that was sold to me and never contradicted because, well, there was no internet. When I found the net and mens forums my head almost exploded.

I can imagine twenty years from now, fat women having almost the same feeling of being conned by the mainstream, telling them it's okay to be fat, everyone knows this!, and realizing they missed out on good potential mates because some aholes decided to knowingly mislead them. An anecdote: I have a female friend of forty something years of age, her friend lost over a hundred pounds and just like magic! she suddenly started to get hits on a popular dating site. Her self-esteem went way up ... funny that, eh?

Re: Vitamins etc.

I'd like to see a thread opened on orthomolecular medicine. The points of view thus far in this thread are typically extreme - it is b.s. it is not b.s.

I've taken mega doses of vitamin c for over twenty years. I can't remember why I started, but I do know that working in nightclubs with cigarette smoke used to make all my co-workers sick, except me. When they'd start sniffling, I figured a virus was taking hold, I'd up the dose to about eight grams a day. It worked. This is not placebo. I've done it too many times now.

Are there shysters out there? of course, I've paid a lot of money for a couple of appointments. Meh, whatever. The mega-dosing on C has paid dividends for me, so let's try to figure out what is legit and what isn't.

The quality of the information in this thread is invaluable... because it is written by men of experience. Long time life experience.
Very interesting to hear the different experiences and opinions you guys have depending on which path you took and what situation you’re in now.
This thread should be mandatory reading for all younger men, while being banned from commenting themselves. Which is why I’ll go back to my corner and shut up now.
Thanks guys.

I'll be 50 this month but I find it somewhat difficult to meet like-minded men who aren't totally enmeshed in pure betaness. I really hate having to dial down charisma, solid social acumen and a thoroughly red-pill worldview to befriend men whose personalities aren't quite as experienced and driven - I can't relate at all to their lack of passion for life and acceptance of status quo. Therefore I find "going it alone" to be more suitable when traveling and meeting women. That may be a challenge you face as well.

Also, in my view, you should want to setup yourself up financially so that you can "escape" the western countries (if you so choose) by age 50 at the latest. Many men in the US that I know are in positions due to family obligations and lack of resources which limit their options. Since you are 35, 15 years is plenty of time to create possibilities for yourself. PS I am still occasionally surprised how easy women are to bed for maturing men outside the anglosphere when your game is decent. Best of luck!

I just turned 48 this past Saturday.

I guess I'm a bit lucky compared to guys that still want to have kids since I'm divorced with a 14 year old son I see on weekends/holidays.

I was even planning more of my travels with him in the coming years....joking I told him he could be my new wing in 5 years.

This past year I have banged more girls half my age or less but at times there is still an emptiness ...that these girls are so flaky and young they really don't know what they want out of life.

The ideal situation would be to find a mid 30's for LTR but unless they are divorced already with kids...they want children.

Still I'm much happier then I was 10 years ago when I was in a bad marriage.

It does sound understandable how that could appear appealing. I also have a 14 and 12 year old sons, but they live with me at least half of the time and often more.

Not that you asked, but I would recommend that you get your son with you more rather than just weekends and holidays. Not only that, you could probably be paying your ex less on a monthly basis. You have the right to have your son living with you a full half of the time.

You guys are spot on re: wasting time on pussy. But thing is for me, I was a nerd totally little interest in women until 17. Then I started going out clubbing, travelling etc and 25 years later, though i have toned it down alot, I think only with lowing testosterone. I cannot exist day to day without dreaming of women, its like everything I have done for the past 25 years has been to get women. It motivates me, makes me feel alive, work out, work hard, buy properties. I think its like for me its the pinnacle of what makes me feel good, which makes scence biologically speaking. Are many of you guys like this? or were like this? In my 20s and 30s it was beyond a point of obsession. Literally everything I did and talked about was somehow related to pussy.

Perhaps I should have married sooner and had kids? But there is no way I could have stayed faithful, its only now I feel deep inside me that I really could settle with one good women and have a kid. The feeling and thought actually fill me with a deep sense of calm, but at the same time still feels a bit boring.

Id really appreciate some words of wisdom. Im 43 BTW

For most men life is determined by the pursuit of women, or LTRs with women, this is quite normal. It's scary the extent to which they determine our life. I think the pursuit of red pill is to tone this down and regain control.

As for kids, it will be boring because the woman will demote you to third position, if you're faithful you will limit your attention from other women and the pursuit of other women will cease. Your life will revolve around the needs of children. It is boring. It has its rewards, wonderful new beings that love you unconditionally, but boredom, lack of pussy and relinquishing the centre role in the relationship will be the price. You choose.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
I'll soon be pushing upper 40s. a girl I mentioned a few pages back in this thread wants to come out to Texas to visit me. I live between here and another state, where we are both from.

I think it maybe a good test. Her and I living together here for 3 or 4 days before I boot her out ( I don't want to "live" with a woman more than 2-4 days right now) Also, if she starts to drive me nuts after 48 hours, it'd be good to send her on her way.

She's 30, same race as me, attractive, no kids, tats or weird piercings. She comes from a traditional background. One red flag is she's taking an anti depressant. She had a semi-traumatic upbringing according to her but is now on good terms with her parents. She's also headed in the right direction as earlier this year when I hooked up with her she was a little underweight. now, she's gained it all back, got down to just this one medication, and looks healthy and good.

She texts me pretty regular wishing me a good day, sending random pictures of her decorating for fall, etc.

That said, her taking the medication is obviously a red flag and one I'm hesitant about. It's wise to test any girl before committing long term but this is a reason I would especially test her.

Part of me would like to keep traveling to Northern and EE and dating the girls there. I've had mixed success on only 2 - 2 week trips. However, to get one of those women to commit longer term, you pretty much need to live there and with my career, I can't do more than 3 or so week stays.

If I want a solid LTR and family, I'll have to make a decision at some point, obviously. It's good to have options at least.

Im 43 BTW

That is a fair assessment, kazz, and surely each guy has to reach those kinds of balance considerations for himself - whether he plans ahead or bumps into some kind of spontaneous situation that causes him to change his thinking.

Lucky thing for guys seems to be that if you keep your finances together, then you are likely to continue to have decent chances to land some kind of decent chick that you can get pregnant - even if you are quite older (if you are lucky enough as to not have died or not screwed up your hormones - meaning sperm production).

Guys don't have as much of a biological clock or a looks issue; however, many RVFers realize that options are considerably increased by taking active measures to maintain or to build your physical health(power).

I don't really believe in living any kind of world of regret - even though, as you suggest, certain courses of action (including pursuing multiple pussy) will provide some opportunity costs including seeing guys that are much younger with well established families, including grand children and great grandchildren, which can provide a bit of its own power and status in society.

By the way, I have personally had a few incidents in my life, now, in which I had come very close to death, so even if we have plans to establish a family at a certain age or under certain conditions that are into the future, we have to realize a certain level of inability to control some aspects - and death, which is inevitable, may end up coming a lot sooner than expected (disability can be another variation of that unexpected less powerful scenario playing out).

Your aversion towards living with any chick seems to be a decent inclination, and likely better than my own practice, in which I lived with a few chicks and as soon as it gets into the "living with" category, a lot of the desire to bang seems to get worn out - yet it is possible with a kind of decent arrangement that involves a kind of balancing out of activities and space, there could be some preservation of the bang desire over longer periods... I have not gone down the kid road, so I would suppose that could stifle bang desire even more.

I am not that red-flagged out by the anti-depressants, yet surely it could be a bad sign, and if you are around her long enough, you would want her to wean herself off of that crap.. in the longer run, as long as she is otherwise a compatible person.

A red flag that you raised was that you had already kicked her out after only a couple of days, maybe we need more details about what motivated you only after a couple of days, to kick her out?

Your suggestion about the trips are good; however, trips are frequently not close to the boringness of real life, even though it can test being able to work through various itinerary scenarios and seeing the person every day for a couple of weeks or more.

Ultimately, you seem to already have your answer in terms of testing the chick out, and that is spending a decent amount of time with, and going through various scenarios, and perhaps even some of the boringness of the day to day, rather than trips that are sometimes too exotic to camouflage real life and the tending to be more regular (and perhaps boring) events of what you are likely doing on a daily basis in your normal routines.

Eat healthy (and non genetic maninpulated trash) instead and you shall be healthy and feel good.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Was thinking of opening up a new thread with a difficult question. But since there was a discussion on legacy and purpose, I will just post it here for now.

The question is -

Is adopting a child consider having lost in the game of being a man?

A little background - I got married 10 months ago, even before that I knew my wife would have difficulty conceiving. But I could not bear the thought of leaving her because of that so I reluctantly got married hoping a miracle may happen. 10 months later no luck. We have seen a fertility specialist last year.

Another caveat, having researched IVF, I am not 100% confident of the long term health consequence of the baby, and I am reluctant to go that route.

Also at 47 y/o my semen parameter is not that great. Still within normal, but at the very low end.

Do I adopt and keep trying for a natural baby? Do I leave her, and look for another woman to be my baby moma. I am pretty sure the deficiency is in my wife, but given my parameters, I am not 100% sure I can go out and get another girl pregnant either.

Funny how life took a quick turn. 3-4 years ago I was still thinking of banging more girls, but now I am wondering if I will ever have a kid of my own.

IMO Hell no. Becoming a father to an orphan is very noble. More than one personal friend of mine has adopted, and they have very good relationships.

It seems that I largely agree with Kaizen (perhaps for different reasons) that neither adoption nor having a questionable sperm count is conclusory of "manliness" failure.

I also think that your post topic is acceptable for this thread, since such situation surely could be a common issue for guys above 40...

I have never had a sperm analysis, yet since you, personally, have a baseline measurement, have you researched into various measures to attempt to improve your sperm count and/or taken any actions in that direction? By the way, how old is your current "baby moma?"

It seems that diet, exercise and sleep could be helpful with improving sperm quality, and perhaps even within a 6 mont period - whether you consider that you have enough time for that given possibly the age of the "baby moma" and even measures that she could also take to improve her abilities to reproduce.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Having seen a few children who've been adopted (and dated a couple girls who had been), I'd say it'd be very important to know the family history of that child before taking them on as your charge. Childhood instabilities can become severely debilitating in the teens and beyond as the full hormone complement surges through their system. I hate to say this as I believe every child needs a home, but do your homework.

If you have poor sperm function I would correct the underlying causes to the best of your ability - rest, diet, exercise, stress reduction, thorough blood testing via N.D. (naturopathic doctors who understand health and nutrition) or functional medicine doctors to indicate any deficiencies and correct them. Since your wife is part of the equation, she needs to have a thorough work-up done and perhaps several. I'm not familiar-enough with the fertility 'industry' but I would be skeptical of 'treatments' that don't focus on the fundamentals I mentioned. You both need to get your health optimized and I think that will give you the best chance of conceiving your own health child. It'll also become a strong motivation for staying health and setting a great example for your future child.

I had low T about 4 years ago and experience a serious health event (not a heart attack thank God, peace be with doc's friend). It convinced me to take better charge of my health. It's amazing how far that gets you. I would avoid any prescription drug to the fullest extent possible - they are TOXIC and will NOT promote your body's healing function.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
Most couples who adopt do so because the woman has fertility problems not the man, so I don't think there is a stigma.

I used to think it would be difficult to have the same bond with an adopted child than your own flesh and blood but that is nonsense.

However, someone pointed out that a lot of kids who get adopted come from tough situations, so genetically and health wise you don't know what you are getting. The mother might have drank during pregnancy, might have a history of substance abuse, etc. On the other hand, a lot of kids thrive with just a little love.

As for sperm count, if you wear briefs switch to boxers, it makes a big difference.

Perhaps i'd volunteer and join a book club.

At age 52 I moved to Asia, never imagined banging so many women in my 50's.
Best place I ever visited Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon) earlier this year age 62, sit in the park for 10-20 minutes reading a book and I'll be hit on by a Viet woman aged 20-30, same sitting reading in a coffee shop, even the waitress in the restaurant and the lady cooking breakfast at my hotel gave it a go. Never been anywhere else like it in the world, every day some girl would give it a go.

The food in the West is much less healthy than Europe. Its factory farmed, GMO, and has fewer nutrients. Prepared foods like bread or sauces will be laced with high fructose corn syrup. So it is actually quite rational to supplement with vitamins and minerals if you live here.
