Sleep and good diet and exercise will help.
I eat healthy, work out 3/4 times a week and generally get 7-9 hours of sleep. Still testosterone below 400.

How old are you?

Do you work a stressful job? I would try bumping up fat intake as well.

Could be genetic. Some men just have lower testosterone.

Also male testosterone levels have been declining steadily for the last 100 years. Our grandparents had 5x more natural test than we do.

I have 807 ng/dl total test as a natural 28 year old. I highly doubt my grandfather had 3,000+ levels at my age.

Where are you getting that statistic?

Late twenties. I'm self-employed and I continuously travel.

I'm traveling with a girl for a week and I have no sexual desire to speak of. This can't be good. I have watched my food intake, exercise and sleep. But to no avail.

I used to have an incredible high sex drive just years ago. But over the past 6 months it has been sizzling out.

Either the chick is gross, or you have low T. Hopefully it's the prior.

The only way to know for sure is to get some blood work done.

RE: Testosterone injections
Have any of you guys put significant weight on in a short peeiod of time, if so, has it been difficult to manage long term? I've been on test for 14 months and in that time I put on ten pounds (went from 160-165 to 170-175) and wasn't overly disciplined with my training or diet but am happy with the gain in muscle mass. I could definitely lose about ten pounds of fat but I have a good opportunity to put on more muscle now.

I just started a 10-12 week camp job where I'm working six days on and one off, so I won't be able to drink and I can eat all the food I want at no cost and there's a really nice gym on site, a thirty second walk from my room. The food is really good, all you can eat breakfast and supper, the lunch is bagged but still good meat/fish/rice/veggies. I'm thinking of going hard in the gym, eating like a beast and trying to hit 180.

Basically my question is will that weight be difficult to maintain when I'm not in camp? I find it difficult to maintain a steady eating pattern when I'm not in a camp, especially if I'm not working, I fall off the wagon pretty easily. Right now I'm fairly confident I can maintain the muscle mass I have and cutting some fat wouldn't be too hard, I'm just on the fence about putting on more mass.

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

RE: Testosterone injections
When I did my cycle over a year ago I put on around 15 pounds of lean muscle and have kept it since. I was also pretty bloated during the cycle because I got looser with my diet half way through to see what would happen. So during I was around 20 to 30 pounds heavier that what I normally am.

Just train and get more food in then normal.

When you do PCT try to actually get more food in then when you were on the cycle is solid advice I got. A lot of people who don't know what they're doing, after a cycle will just go back to what they're doing before or immediately cut because they put on fat. Thats the worst thing you can do after a cycle.

I started my TRT today, used a backfilled insulin needle and it was completely painless and easy.

By the way I found an excellent website in the UK who will do next day delivery, great service and pharmaceutical-grade products. PM me if you want the link.

RE: Testosterone injections
Did a second time in a year period some blood tests, these are the results:

-TSH: 2.14, 0.27-4.20, optimal is below 2.1 AVERAGE
-FT3: 3.54, 1.80-4.20 OK
-FT4: 1.10 and second measure 1.03, 0.70-1.70 OK

Thyroid seems to be working fine based on those last 3.

-Estradiol: 57, second measurement 75.7, 7.6-43, ideally this would be between 10-30 pg/mL, so this is very PROBLEMATIC. I'm not fat at all, so not sure where this is coming from.
-DHEAS (adrenal function): 309, second measurement 363, 80-560, ideally between 400-500, should be higher. AVERAGE
-FSH: 3.88 second measurement 3.08, 1.5-15, ideally above 5 but below 15, so should a bit higher as well. AVERAGE
-Insuline: 2.60, 2.60-24.9, ideally below 3 so OK.
-LH: 2.14, second measurement 3.87, 1.7-8.6 OK, although according to my lab, but CleanSlates article suggests 6.0-19.0 mIU/ml, most internet sources seem to state that my levels are not problematic.
-Total Testosterone: 669 ng/dl, second measurement 878, 0.28-11.1 so not bad at all. 617 is the average testosterone level for men between 25-34, but with the second measurement it shows that it's quite high for a 30 yo male. OK
-Free Testosterone: 10.17 ng/sl, second measurement 12.71, 4.25-30.37, ideally between 15-30. Officially it’s within range, but according to guys here and in sports environments it’s definitely suboptimal. The average for men between 25-34 here is 12.3, with standard deviation of 2.8. So I'm about AVERAGE, but I think this might go up if I can get my estrogen down, which seems to be the real problem here.

Besides these indicators, I checked a lot of other things and there were no real anomalies, except for too high Cholesterol (225)(HDL is fine, but too high LDL) and especially tryglycerides (204.5).

Based on all these results, I think Testosterone is not yet necessary for me (Age 30), but perhaps Estrogen inhibitors can have a strong effect on me. I will try DIM supplements combined with some natural test boosters (Tongkat Ali, ZMA, Vit. D3, Horny Goat Weed) and changing my diet by adding more fiber and less processed crap (for the Cholesterol and tryglicerides). I know some guys here are true experts, so let me know if I am missing something, it would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I could also choose to go straight to Aridimex for the Estrogen.

RE: Testosterone injections
I believe I've over trained and stressed myself to low t. I have blood work from last year showing 767 TT.

For a few months I've been going hard and upped the cardio. Some MT sessions were forcing me to take a nap for hours afterwards. I felt terrible for days after particularly intense sessions. Still doing BJJ and weight lifting as well. Kept pushing through, but it was tough.

With a morning blood draw TT came back at 300 and change. Ouch. My diet hasn't changed much besides upping calories.

Honestly it's not unbearable, but I do feel the effects. My motivation has been in the gutter, and I've been walking around much angrier than usual. My performance at work has suffered as well.

Going to look into some options.

RE: Testosterone injections
I have been on TRT since early 3/17. I had always considered Test augmentation in the context of sexual dysfunction or steroid use. A friend of mine brought it up after he'd been on it. He told me for him it had nothing to do with anything sexual; whether he was being honest or not does not matter - I proceeded to do some heavy research: studies published online, forums, info from people I know, and also a book by Jay Campbell on TRT.

For a few years I had been wondering quietly if I had some type of deficiency due to having to work harder for gym gains than others, having trouble focusing continuously with work, and thinking 'small' regarding career + $$$. I would also get pretty tired in the afternoon 3-5 times/week. Every source I read spoke into these specific areas - it was go time.

I had lab work done twice before I began TRT:
Total : 270-300
Free : 8-9
Estradiol : 13ish

PSA, hemoglobin other important things were good both times.

I decided to go the self-care route after visiting with a Dr. and doing my research. The first week I was a little over-eager and did a a bit of an oversized dose (divided into two injections) with the hope of easily being able to feel/notice the difference. Following the second injection I felt like I had the world by the balls for 4-5 days (test prop) and it was excellent.

After the first week I walked my dose back to 125mg every 3.5 days. A month into it I had my bloodwork done again:
Total: 1230ish
Free: 26ish

I inject into my deltoids sub-q using 29 gauge insulin needle.

There is no need for me to have levels so high, so I walked it back to 100mg eery 3.5 days. Will get labs again in a week, then adjust if needed. I should note I was eating like a fat kid - tons of sugar, fat and processed garbage before trt and a month into it. This is a bad idea - cutting your benefits at the knees. Once I got my diet and workouts back in action (macros, more protein, less fat and sugar, minimal processed junk, consistent cardio and lifts) my TRT leveled up big time. FYI I am 6'2" and 220-230 lbs.

I have experienced the following benefits, not 100% of the time, but there is a marked difference:
- Increased libido (did not expect that one, boiling frog eh?)
- Intense erections over night.
- Subtle feeling of confidence/preparedness anytime.
- More confidence overall.
- Thinking bigger with my career vision.
- A very comfortable and natural assertiveness. I don't use the word 'aggressiveness' because it seems like most people see that you are secure in what you are doing/saying that they just don't want to get involved.
- Less of a filter, very comfortable having unpopular opinions.
- Comments from multiple people that my upper body is looking more muscular, part water weight part lifting.
- I used to drag my feet getting into tasks, specially one's that were not fun. This is no longer the case, I just want to beat them in to submission.

I am sure that some of this is mental, however, placebo does not occur without taking something. Again, I do not feel all these benefits all the time to the max, sometimes I get a bit tired or drag a bit. I may even take a look at my thyroid next. If that is holding me back, I cannot imagine what the next level looks like. Very good stuff.

To be fair, some cons:
- Injecting yourself, as mentioned above it's not a big deal. Painless.
- Costs a bit of $$ way less if you go self care route.
- I forget little things here and there (locking front door, specific tasks).

Also, I was worried that my hair would fall out (due to my genetic predisposition) and my balls would shrink. Hair does not seem to be falling out any quicker (yet) and my balls shut down their production 6 weeks ago - if they shrunk, we are talking 10% tops.

Anyone feel free to PM. I am always down to chat.

Forget the natrual test booster, there a waste. Your estro's not as bad as you think. You have good test so ideally you would only want to drop it slightly. 0.5mg of arimidex twice per week or 12.5mg of armosin twice per week. I personally perfer armosin (suicide). This is a good starting point. Wait 3 weeks to re-test your estro. Pay attention how you feel as well. After 1 month of use of an ai, take a week or two off. They tend to "build up" in your system despite its short half life.

Please don't like my posts or rep me. I do not wish to be judged by how many rep points and/or likes I have.

RE: Testosterone injections
6 months TRT update:

Had blood drawn 3 days after an injection (0.5ml) and the results are very satisfying, except Estradiol levels. Almost double the upper normal range. Will have to talk to the doc when I see him on Thursday.

Panel/Test-------------------Value----Unit-----Normal Range
Testosterone, Serum-----------1151----ng/dL------348-1197
Free Testosterone(Direct)------18.2----pg/mL-----8.7-25.1
Estradiol-------------------------77.2----pg/mL-----7.6-42.6

And this is where it was 6 months ago (7 months ago my T levels were in the 260s):

Panel/Test-------------------Value----Unit-----Normal Range
Testosterone, Serum-----------375----ng/dL------348-1197
Free Testosterone(Direct)------6.4----pg/mL-----8.7-25.1

The only "problem" I have is that usually I spread the 0.5ml dose into two injections to keep the T level steady throughout the week. It makes me feel "okay" at most.
When I injected the 0.5 at once before the blood test, for several days I felt like I can take the world by its balls and nothing can stop me. But then it subsided and I felt kind of moody and down until the next injection.

In today's world "I think therefore I am" has been replaced with "I'm offended therefore shut up."

Always do your blood tests as far out from the injection as you can, so you get a true steady-state reading. For example, I always inject on Wednesday, so I always do tests on Tuesday.

Injected the last of my vial yesterday and on the 5th week of treatment. Injected in the thigh and hit a blood vessel; blood shot everywhere, meh big deal.

Noticed I'm having much better lifts in the gym, strength is up around 15-20% compared to 5 weeks ago.

I was instructed to do this by the doctor.
Is it possible that he told me to do that so the numbers are high?
He seems to insist that I do a sleep study because he thinks that I have sleep apnea (I snore in my sleep) and that causes my low T levels.

RE: Testosterone injections
I am having weird numbers in the labs.

My dosage is 50 mg enanthate every 3 days. That is 100 mg one week and 150 the other.

Went to the lab a 4th day after the last shot, meaning minutes before my next dosage. My total test came 1623 Ng/dl The estradiol was 75 pg/dl . I managed to lower the estradiol a bit to 50 by taking 8 mg of aromasin the day after each shot (1/3 tab).

So the dosage is not high but the total testosterone is. What would be better, to space the shots to every 4 or 5 days or same schedule, less dosage?

Are you having estrogen related problems staying on that level of testosterone ?

If you're feeling fine and all the bloodwork is swell, why would you want to lower it ? Huh

There was a point where I felt great in all senses. Everything is"ok" now except that I feel again little tired / sleepy.

In other forum I was told that I should not have these levels of estrogens with that dosage.

"Your TT was high. But that can be from high SHBG creating a lot of [non bioavailable] SHBG+T that inflates TT, then TT overstates your T status.

SHBG is made in the liver to scavenge sex hormones from the blood. SHBG increases with [your] high E2, more FT or bio-T lowers SHBG. SHBG reduces FT as in increases TT.

E2=22pg/ml is a target that works well for almost all guys.

E2=75 is clearly VERY abnormal for your T dose. This may be indicating poor E2 clearance rates by your liver. AST/ALT lab results need to be available. Liver conditions/disease can do this too. Some medications, Rx and OTC can cause this by competing for the same enzyme pathways that metabolize estrogens"

Well, I don't know what his reason might be, but I think its worth asking him. The longer from your injection time you test, the better to find your 'residual' level, so to speak.

I have sleep apnea too, but I don't know if it affected my T levels.
