RE: Testosterone injections
31 here, been on 250mg of testosterone enanthate per week since July 2015.

1 Zero bloating of the face- My face looks the same as before Test, no noticeable changes.

2. Hair Loss- Testosterone can exacerbate this if you are genetically predisposed to lose your hair. Otherwise, it has no effect on hair loss.

3. Becoming sterile is extremely unlikely to happen. While you're on testosterone, your balls stop producing sperm and testosterone, but when you come off, your own production will restart naturally after a few months; if not, or if you want to do so sooner, there are drugs you can take to restart your production.

As far as how I actually feel, for me it's subtle changes, since I tested at 640 after purposely trashing my body the night before the test to try to get low enough levels for a prescription. Basically though, I have more energy throughout the day, I burn fat and put on muscle faster, and I recover from workouts faster. Basically, for me testosterone injections simply make aging an easier process than aging naturally.

The tradeoff is you have to do your homework to learn about what to look for in your bloodwork when you do your checkups. It's important to stay on top of it, since things like estrogen are affected.

Good luck, if you're looking to do some research you should check out Excel Male, it's an excellent resource for tesosterone.

What I know - My T and Free T levels are abysmally low, confirmed through three different blood draws taken months apart. It's not a lifestyle issue as I'm young, eat clean, exercise regularly, lift heavy, get enough sleep, etc. So clearly there is some sort of underlying problem.

What I don't know - what to do with this information. Getting the blood work done and finding a way to source the necessary compounds shouldn't be too big a challenge in Asia. I could easily find everything I need, carefully follow the instructions from the D&P podcasts, and hope for the best. On the other hand I'm very young and feel like hopping on TRT without knowing the root of the problem could backfire. Problem is, how do I even find that out? I'm in Vietnam.. I don't have any insurance.. I honestly wouldn't even mind blowing through all my savings and going back to the US and finding the optimal doctor if I knew I'd get this taken care of for good but from what I've read online so far that seems like a pipe dream.

What would you do?

Can't really help you at the moment as I'm possibly in the same boat, waiting on a blood test for confirmation and seriously considering low dose TRT if it's needed.

Out of interest though what are your stats - age, height/weight, body fat etc. and what did your test readings come out at? Did you have anything else tested?

Hope you're able to get your situation sorted out.

I'm 24, 178cm, 77 kilos, around 14% body fat? My last readings were really bad man and I'm kinda panicking but I'm working hard on finding a solution. 10.11 nmol/L Total T (reference range 8.6-29) and even worse 8.0 pg/mL Free T (reference range 8.9-42.5). You wouldn't know it from hanging out with me but I definitely feel it and it sucks. And yeah I did get all the recommended markers tested but I'm not yet knowledgeable enough to deduce much from them, working on it though.

RE: Testosterone injections
Seems like all the posts here are the same. "Is my test low? My test low what to do now?" Hopefully I can be of some help. You need to find out WHY your test is low as some suggested before looking to increase test. You do this by speaking to a urologist or endo doctor. Next question is "should I take test"? Well this is a personal decision. There are other ways to increase test without depressing natural levels like clomid therapy or hcg therapy or both. This is assuming you are not primary hypogondism. I'm a steriod user (i've taken as much as 1.5 gram of test per week with other drugs). I get routine blood tests done and I can assure you with proper post cycle therapy everything "resets" back to normal. So what are the side effects of taking testosterone? #1 and most important in my opinion is cholestrol levels. Elevated cholestrol levels can lead to plaque forming in the arteries of your heart and also outside atound your heart which can lead to heart attacks, heart diseases and obviously death. #2 thickness of your blood can increase depending on how much test your on. This leads to high blood pressure. #3 rise in estrogen levels. This can lead to all sorts of diffrent things to bitchness and moodswings to forming gyno (female parts). Also can lead to acne and loss of hair if prone to it. A note on estrogen levels. You don't want low estrogen levels because that is just as bad as high estrogen levels. One should find a nice balance with their estrogen and testosterone levels. This means regular blood work at least 4 times a year to monitor your health. There are a lot of other side effects which I recommend researching before taking on trt or hrt. Agian, i've taken as high as 1.5 gram of test per week for 10 weeks and i'm the healthest i've ever been 2 years later at 34. All confirmed by blood tests. (/thread-49246...pid1329349) The best doctor is yourself! Learn everything about testosterone before taking it, get regular blood tests and you will be fine. I personally been blast and cruising for a good 6 years now and feel getting into the hrt scene has been one of the best decisions of my life.
PS: I take these year round on and off cycle, they work! Have the blood tests to prove it, before and after. So if concerned about chloestrol levels on trt you can try (http://m.allstarhealth.com/f/molecular_n...abil.htm).
Furthermore, i'm finding my clients often tell me there docs are putting them on statin's as soon as they tell their doc there an aas user or anabolic steriod user. What does this mean? Even if your not a steriod user and concerned with elevated LDL or low density lipo protein or (bad protein) and decreased HDL or high density lipo protein levels (good cholestrol) it may be worth a shot to mention you do steriods and aee if your doc "brings up" your choloestral levels. From personal experwnce AND from a medical study which can be found here (http://www.m.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/new...de-effects) The drugs simvastatin (Zocor) and pravastatin (Pravachol) had the fewest side effects. I prefer pravachol myself.

Great post. I started down this road by getting my T levels checked after exhibiting some of the usual symptoms (forgetfulness, irritability, fatigue, etc.) The first place I went to could best be described as a testosterone mill. They take your total level and if you're lucky, your estradiol and free T levels and determine based on a chart whether or not you are below the normal range. If so, they prescribe something and send you on your way. If not, they end the discussion. Places like this are a total crapshoot as they barely consider so many other factors besides testosterone that could be the source of symptoms.

Since my T level (free and total) and estradiol were "within normal ranges" they sent me packing. I knew something was amiss, so after finding a couple of doctors who do more complete diagnoses, I selected one and went in for a full consult. The down side is not all of the services provided by doctors like these (usually billing themselves as "Wellness Centers" or similar) are covered by insurance. The lab work is, but the long office visit and consults are not - this is how they make their money; instead of running a few short tests on everybody who walks in, billing insurance and making profit on the volume, they charge more per patient and take time to look at everything.

So far, I think the out of pocket cost ($1200 for the three hour visit) was worth it - he collected a lot of information from me and as a result I've learned more from this doc than all the others combined. First, there is no universal range of acceptable T levels for everyone. One guy with 500 could be performing as well as the next guy with 1200. Second, the guy with 1200 who then drops to 600 might actually feel and perform worse than the guy with the regular level of 500. Third and most significantly, T levels may not even be the problem. There is much more to this picture than a simple T test and a good doctor with complete knowledge and experience will be able to properly assess the complete picture beyond half-answering "Is my test too low?"

After my consult and exam with the doc yesterday, I went in this morning for blood draws - they took 16 different vials and will be testing a slew of indicators, not just T levels and estradiol. He also sent me home with a urine test kit to collect urine samples throughout one day and return them for a hormone assay. Will see where it goes from here, but I'm glad I didn't stop at the testing mill and forget about it.

I think that may have been my situation. When you naturally have off the charts high testosterone, then due to sleep problems, stress, and other factors, drop into the low end of the normal range, you might end up feeling really bad. Most doctors only see the 600, think you're perfectly fine, then send you packing without knowing or being able to completely understand the whole story.

RE: Testosterone injections
I've been working with Dr. Saya at Defy Medical for close to a year now.

After taking the suggested OTC meds (DHEA, Pregnenolone, Stinging Nettle, D3) and the prescribed meds (Anastrozole/DIM) for 9 months, my numbers are consistent:

Total T is fine, ~700
Free T is low, 11
SHBG is high, 75
E2 is meh at 27

Despite my decent total T number, I still do not feel right, and with my SHBG and free T numbers less than optimal, Dr. Saya on Wednesday prescribed TRT.

He said he normally does not prescribe for guys with a total T in the 700s. However, I lost a testicle in a motorcycle wreck in the '90s, and he said that though my lone nut is doing a great job pumping out the 700 total T, my free T is too low. And, despite the 750mg/day of Stinging Nettle Root I've been taking, my SHBG number is stubbornly high.

Based on my numbers, Saya thinks that in order to get my free T into the target range of 20+, I will need to get my total T into the higher range of 1000-1200. Consequently, he's prescribed me a high dose of testosterone.

On Monday, I embark on the TRT journey:

.45ml of injected Testosterone cypionate, twice per week.

He's also prescribing me HCG -- to keep my remaining ball swole.

He warned me, once I start TRT, it's a lifetime commitment of needles and injections.

So why make this commitment?

First and foremost: Sex. I simply don't care about it anymore like I used to, and the wife is pissed at the twice-a-month program. Trust me, youngsters, there is nothing worse than being married to a horny wife when your libido is in the toilet. A close second is remembering that only a few short years ago, you were fricking Caligula, but today could hardly care less.

Psychological Reasons: Ennui. Irritability. Cynicism. Paranoia. Depression. Short attention/focus. Anxiety. None of these are debilitating right now, but I used to laugh at freaks who complained about this shit. This is NOT me.

More: Losing holes in the belt (belly fat), noticing myself blowing off squats, bagging last rep of bench, blowing off gym altogether, sitting on sofa entire Sundays. I used to be a madman in the gym, rabid for the next workout. Now? Meh. This is Not me.

Dr. Saya says to not expect any improvements for 4 weeks -- it takes that long for free T to rise. But now that I've got the script, I can hardly wait for my first injection on Monday.

I'm 50 years old, and I'm not expecting TRT to make me feel 21 again. But hopefully having the Free T of a 21 year old will kick off the positive biological feedback loop: Boost in Free T will get me off my ass, which will boost my T, which will get me boning wife daily, which will boost my T, which will get me squatting regular/deep, which will boost my T, which will help me crush at the office, which will boost my T, which will reduce boozing, which will boost T, Bone wife again, boost T, etc.

I'll post my progress here in case anybody else reading is in the same boat.

RE: Testosterone injections
First injection of .45mg of Test. Cyp. today. Wow, these IM needles are much thicker than the Sub-Q needles I'm used to.

I jabbed myself in the left glute. I tentatively poked at my skin for a while until the needle finally penetrated my dermis. Kind of grossed me out. Once in the muscle, injecting the T was easy. The injection site was mildly sore for a couple hours afterward. Hopefully this gets easier as you get accustomed to it.

I didn't feel any different after the first shot. Normal.

My urine was dark about 7 hours later, and smelled strong. This is not normal. Google says this means I'm dehydrated. I guess I have to drink more water.

RE: Testosterone injections
So I recently started looking into TRT. The first thing I want to do is get some blood work done so I know my T levels.

However, I am a resident of MA and it seems like these tests have been outlawed in MA. I can't seem to find anywhere online that will let me order this type of blood work. It looks like NY, NJ, MD, and RI residents may be in the same boat.

Does anyone from MA or the other states listed have any tips on how I can get this blood work done?

Test injections + Risk Taking

Thx for this Great article, especially the book "The Hour Between Dog and Wolf: Risk-taking, Gut Feelings and the Biology of Boom and Bust", didn't found the pdf so I read some reviews.

As the title let us guess: Risk taking is a good natural ehancer to your Testosterone level.
Quote:Coates, who once headed a derivatives trading desk, focuses on the moment of Jekyll-and-Hyde transformation that traders pass through when under pressure. This moment of transformation, which the French have called “the hour between dog and wolf” since the Middle Ages, results from rising levels of testosterone that increase both one’s self-confidence and, crucially, one’s appetite for risk.

[...]

Researchers have identified three types of situations that signal a threat and elicit a massive physiological stress response — those characterized by novelty, uncertainty, or uncontrollability. Coates explores how traders can train their physiology in order to increase their mental and physical stamina, toughening themselves against the fatigue, anxiety, and psychiatric disorders that follow from chronic stress

Doing "dangerous" things + T injections = Ultimate Profits

Tell them too much, they wouldn't understand; tell them what they know, they would yawn.
They have to move up by responding to challenges, not too easy not too hard, until they paused at what they always think is the end of the road for all time instead of a momentary break in an endless upward spiral

Yeah, don't limit yourself to MA. There are doctors all over the country - probably plenty in CT/NYC. Not even a few hours to get there. You only have to see the guy once or twice to get some tests and results. As discussed earlier, try to avoid test & script mills, though. If all they do is a blood test that's not enough info.

Redonion,

I'd be very surprised to learn that any state/jurisdiction would make a blood test for the purposes of determining levels of life-sustaining hormones illegal, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear they make it difficult when it comes to testosterone.

After reading several good reviews about them in this thread, I started working with Defy Medical out of Florida. They are very familiar with the obstacles out-of-state patients face, and have solutions that are safe and legal. They're the real deal -- they won't prescribe unless you really have low T.

Give them a call, they're very accessible and friendly. I'm not affiliated with Defy, but I'm very pleased with my experience with them. They'll know how you can get your labs done in Massachusetts.

Thanks JayR,

It does seem strange that my state would outlaw these type of blood tests. Part of the reason I posted here was in hopes that someone would tell me I was wrong.

This is what I see when trying to order a test from http://www.privatemdlabs.com (promoted by Mike on DnP):

Maybe these tests exist but I need to go through separate, non-online channels to order them?

I'll call Defy Medical today - solid advice.

I read something similar in a test kit about NY not being able to process a urine-based hormone test, but the rest I did not see listed. You should go to a doctor versus the online route if at all possible. Try FL, CA, the DC area, etc. There's more to this story than one result can provide.

I'm from MA and got my test done about 6 months ago.

What I did was I went to the closest urgent care center. Go in and tell them you want your T levels checked. It's that easy. Also my insurance covered most of it.

RE: Testosterone injections
I'm losing my damn mind.

I have some blood work from January of this year and some more from last month. In January my Total T was a hair under 500 and my free T was REALLY low at 7.1 (ref range 8.9-42.5). I wasn't able to test free T last month but my total T came in even lower at 10.11 nmol/l (ref range 8.64-29.0). Obviously getting these results sucked but at least I finally knew what was causing my symptoms and could take the steps necessary to get it taken care of.

I reached out to Defy Medical but they wouldn't accept any of my old labs so I flew out to BKK and paid to get everything done all over again. I got the results 30 minutes ago and somehow my total T has doubled in three weeks and is at 672.. Not only that but my free T also doubled and is at 14.5. I noticed that they didn't actually measure my free T and instead measured my total T, SHBG, and albumin and used a calculator to come up with my free T number. Is that the standard practice?

Now I don't even know what to think. I thought I finally solved the riddle but now I'm back to square one. I can almost live with the constant fatigue, brain fog, plateau in the gym, and irritability but I refuse to just accept having a shit libido this early in life. I look at the nofap thread and I see people losing their shit if they don't beat off for a few days, meanwhile I'll go weeks without a single urge. And porn isn't the issue, I haven't watched any in nearly two years. My ego's need to fuck a new hot young woman once in a while + viagra has kept me from being voluntarily celibate but I'm not okay with settling for that.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm still just shocked with these results. Is it normal for T levels to fluctuate that wildly given the labs were run under the same conditions every time? Early morning, fasted, etc.

I'm from MA and got my test done about 6 months ago.

What I did was I went to the closest urgent care center. Go in and tell them you want your T levels checked. It's that easy. Also my insurance covered most of it.

That didn't work for me. They wouldn't recommend a test unless it came from a PCP. Their reasoning was basically if something in my blood work came up as a red flag and I didn't have a PCP responsible for looking at my results, they would be liable.

Pretty stupid if you ask me. I should be free to do whatever I want wit my blood. I set up an appointment with a PCP in a week and a half. This will be my first time going to a PCP in about 10 years.

Massachusetts is an unusual place. Lots of restrictions on things that are freely available elsewhere.

Try LabCorp for your labs instead of PrivateMedLabs. I have no experience with the latter, but Defy pointed me to LabCorp, and I've had no problems getting my labs done down here in Louisiana.

I just checked their web site -- LabCorp has centers in Mass.

Good luck.

RE: Testosterone injections
Does anyone have any success finding a decent doctor in Canada? I am about to do the blood work, I am 26 in Vancouver and I've searched and read a lot of Mike's stuff on the subject. Most people suggest waiting until I'm beyond 30 to do this but I have never been a high testosterone guy. I've been above average considered to the wasteland of sissies we live in today's world with.

Iron + Tweed had a good article on finding treatment in USA here:

http://ironandtweed.com/lowtestosterone-...treatment/

I may also look into the Red Supplements which I have heard good things about. It's a significant amount easier and cheaper so I may get my blood work done then try the RED-PCT and see how it goes.

I went to an anti-aging clinic that deals with TRT in Victoria last year, the doctor wouldn't put me on test and instead recommended a bunch of things that guy's on RVF suggest doing (heavy lifting, bright light therapy, etc). Basically it was a waste of over $200 for me haha. http://www.liveyoung.ca/

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

I don't really follow this thread, but i'll assume you lift regurlarly and heavy (specially squats), your diet is clean and balanced and you are getting all your vitamins and minerals in daily. If you're not, disconsider what'll say and work on that.

I've had my first testosterone experience when i was 16,(huge mistake, by the way). It felt great, i've put 15 kilos something like 33 lbs in 3 months, and everyone noticed, obviously. When i stopped juicing, my testosterone production was shut.

To reboot my test productio I took tamoxifen, Hcg, and naturals like tribulus terrestris and ZMA (zinc). I would advise you to try using these methods before starting a TRT. Since you're 24 not many doctors will agree to put you on TRT. Not many agree with hormones at all..

If you're going to a gym, find the bodybuilder in it, the more renowed he is the better. A PRO bodybuilder (not the big gym rat who sells roids) won't go long without having a doctor. Go and talk to him, and try to get the contact to his doctor, you'll be pretty much set then.

Good Luck with your test levels.

RE: Testosterone injections
slicky boy: sorry for the delay but good to hear slicky boy. Always get 2nd, 3rd opinions concerning your health.

JayR: Try using 25 gauge, 1 inch needles for your injections, should help. Inject needle .75 of an inch into glute. That should be enough to hit muscle with minimal pain. Use 18 gauge for drawing. You really shouldn't be poking yourself, wipe injection area with alcohal wipe and MAKE SURE IT IS 100% dried before injecting. Will take approximately ~2 mins.

Concerning how/where to get lab test done for hormones. I'm also from MA (USA) and went right to my pcp and asked for one explaining all the low test symptoms. If you don't know google them. My insurance covered it 100%. Also you can try http://www.privateMDlabs.com. I use this to find out what my hormone levels are while on cycle without my endo finding out. I do this so he doesn't take me off of hormone therapy while cycling dbol, tren etc...
Privatemdlabs already mention, my bad.

You know, you don't need a doc to get a hold of some test. You can take matters into your own hands and research everything on a blood test, hormone panel, place yourself on trt, and be your own doc...where to get test s3k2? I personally use napsgear.org. I recommend geneza pharmacy for anyone who decides to take this route.

Yeah I found a few online

http://www.vancouverbcbio-identicaldoctor.com/

http://antiagingvancouver.com/

But the consultations alone are something like $500 just to get tested. This is obscene. I do not have a family doctor right now either so I may try my luck at a walk-in clinic and see what happens.

RE: Testosterone injections
Ive been reading that while testosterone is like adding leaves on a tree, HGH is like planting 10 new trees, and in low doses seems to have more permanent gains, while Testosterone can give you temporary muscle gains which you lose when you stop taking the doses. Its feckin crazy cheap here in ukraine like $6 for 5 vials, but Im not sure if i want to mess with my natural hormone cycles

Found a great resource through Twitter for anyone looking into learning about TRT and it's resources. Not sure if anyone has posted already but link is here.
