While I get what you are saying, I don't get all the allegories to Brad Pitt/famous star. Since the death of Tinder, been trying out all the other dating apps out there. Bumble is both the best and the worst.

So, the pros are - you swipe left and right just like Tinder, and in this one, written profiles are really at a premium. I think I've seen maybe 3-4 written profiles from women. So you really don't have to fret about that. I suppose taking 2 seconds to make a decent written will help put you above the rest of the guys but really, it's not a necessity. It has a surprising amount of women on there. I say surprising because I don't know a single dude who uses it, nor does it have any real social media/commercial buzz. But yet, the swipes are almost endless. There was one or two occasions where I had to wait for it to find more people, but I think it was a glitch as I deleted the account, restarted, and have not seen it since. This app certainly has more women than Hinge (which sucks, by the way). I just swipe to my heart's content without running into a limit. Obviously YMMV in this case depending on location, but still.

So, you have a lot of women, minimal investment in regards to writing a profile, even more so than Tinder, if you can believe it. No swipe limitations. Perfect combo (seemingly) of lots of women, and not many men on it that I know of (could be wrong). This would be the number one threat to completely take over Tinder's share except for one major, major caveat. Women have to message first. And within 24 hours, or you lose the match.

This has happened for every single match I've had so far, and it sucks. A few hours before the match expires, you get a notification saying "your match is about to expire. You can extend it. Maybe she'll be impressed." - So I assume you can "extend it" by paying a fee. And then she gets alerted that you paid to extend, and the thought process is, she'll say "aww, he really wants to talk to me!" - and then will proceed to open you up.

Yeah...no. Not happening. Not paying for anything dating related. Certainly not for the mere opportunity to talk to a girl. It would be slightly different if by paying, I could open them up myself, but even so. I'm just not paying for any kind of shit like that.

I understand that gimmick is their entire platform, and changing that policy would probably lose them a great deal of users - but man. If men were allowed to open first, this would take over Tinder rather quickly, in my opinion.

Oh well. The next big dating app is right around the corner. It's probably waiting for app store entry confirmation as we speak.
