Yes, it's can be ridiculous at times how they over extend themselves. I think it may be the fact that young women of the past, when more traditional times prevailed, would fill their days with nurturing their family and children, cleaning the house, cooking, caring for the kids and assisting her husband in any way.

Nowadays, things like that are anathema to them. So, having to fill the void of their lives, they cram it with things like barre classes, pub crawls, blasting social media with the drama of their daily lives, setting countless "goals" , chasing a career they're ultimately going to be unsatisfied with or fucking around with their pets, etc. Regarding girls' pets - the same way that 30 is the new 20, pets are the new children.
