The NBA playoffs are awful until the Finals, and sometimes the Conference Finals.

Which is why it is great to be unto Hockey as well. NHL playoffs are the best post season in sports.

Who is watching the game,?

I tried doing the Cavs game for 2 mins and couldn't watch that massacre. It isn't good ball. Let's hope the Finals live up to the hype.

Warriors over Cavs in 5.

I miss hero ball NBA. But sure, Warriors are too good this year to lose.

Side note; Matt Barnes gets a ring after woman drama with Derek Fisher? Love me some Matt Barnes drama.

I haven't actually been watching. Just the highlights. Cavs are paying around 3:1 for the series. Who's punting?

People said the same thing last year. Lebron and Kyrie are unstoppable against the Warriors and the Cavs have Love and a better perimeter game than last year. Although I want GS to win, I would not write off the Cavs so easily.
kosko 路 2017-05-26 08:01:00 路 #4731
Kyrie could be an factor. You notice they have been icing him early in games and I belive he is getting limited minutes versus Love and LeBron. I'm not sure of it is stratagem to ensure he is fresh for the finals or what.
Nascimento 路 2017-05-26 09:41:00 路 #4732
Provided both teams are healthy, I give Cavs a 70% to take the series.

Klay is a monster, but he's inconsistent, and he hasn't played very well throughout the playoffs. Curry doesn't play his A game against the Cavs. Durant puts up numbers, but chokes come crunch time. Isn't Lebron going to be guarding him anyway?

Again provided Kyrie is 100%, he's not going to disappoint and will average high 20's in the points bracket with a game or two in the high 30's. Lebron will have an off game like he did against the Celtics, but he's going to lead every category once again. Then you have the supporting cast like Love, JR, and Korver that are superior in terms of scoring to their support counterparts on the Warriors side.

Cavs in 6.
Mr. Accuride 路 2017-05-27 01:34:00 路 #4733
My guess:

Take the team that lost in game 7 of the finals against the Cavs last year despite having Draymond punted in Game 5, Curry playing hurt, and the Warriors being less fresh compared to the Cavs due to playing more games. Now change it so that the Warriors are fresh from a ridiculous 12-0 thrashing of the western conference, a fully healthy Curry, and add to it a hyper motivated KD itching to get his first ring, along with the humiliating experience of dropping a series after leading 3-1 from both KD and the other Warriors.

Warriors in 5 or possibly sweep. I think they will expose the terrible holes in the Cav's defense that plagued the regular season, and the Warriors team that we are watching right now might actually be the greatest team in the history of the NBA.

I forget these things but in checking the schedule for the NBA Finals you will see that if this seires goes 7 games it will conclude on June 18th. 18 damn days to do 7 games, it's a sad joke.

NBA with some honest soul searching and some major tweak could take down the NFL as the top game in America, but the way it is constructed now it won't ever happen.
godzilla 路 2017-05-27 14:30:00 路 #4736
This would be my NBA proposal.

-Cut down the regular season to 65 games.

-Eliminate the all-star game and instead have a single elimination tourament(like March madness or the fa cup). Winner could make the playoffs or the league could also invite euro teams to get the total teams to 32.

People make a big deal about KD getting to the finals, but seem to forget that he shrinks when he goes against LeBron, like he's intimidated. He went to the finals with OKC against LeBron a few years ago and got handled even with Westbrook AND Harden backing him up.

Come to think of it, honestly, I have no idea how OKCs GM still has a job. Somethings wrong if you have KD, Westbrook, and Harden all on the same team and you can't win. Then you give Harden away for a bag of chips and let KD get away. Amazing.

The reason?... OKC's owner is cheap, he does not want to go into luxury tax.

Once you get that part all of their silly moves make more sense. They will continue to starve Westbrook with substandard teammates and cheap talent with the odd big money guy here and there.
godzilla 路 2017-05-27 22:47:00 路 #4739
I think its 50 50 Westbrook stays in okc long term. He can be a free agent again next year. Any slip up in their record next year (lets say they just miss the playoffs, though unlikely I think.) I think he could def leave.

The 20+mill extensions they gave to Adams and Oladipo along with Kanter's contract make it impossible for them to get another superstar for the next few years. Those guys are still young but their gonna have to get lucky with Sabonis or get lucky in the draft to contend.

They def got cheap with Harden which is not on the gm. At the same time, Harden wanted to be the man somewhere so even if they won a title, I think he would have been gone anyway.

The Kd thing is unfortunate. Appearantly he would have stayed in okc if Westbrook was leaving (that's the rumor).

Despite having two great players, okc never looked fluid on offense with Westbrook and Durant. So despite good offense numbers, they were prone to inconsistency. Shame they never figure it out. I think Kd is a better player but just didnt have the alpha dog personality to be the man over Westbrook.

Got Warriors to sweep at +850. Probably not happening, but +850 is too generous. It will be my lottery ticket for the month.
Also holding Warriors to win the championship at +150 that I've held from preseason, and Warriors to win the present game at -175 due to some donk parlays that I made.

Owner's with that mentality don't deserve championships, these guys treat their teams like a just another asset in their business portfolio.

Their expressed goal is to break even or stay in the black.

As a Thunder fan who is still salty about KD leaving OKC, I'm looking forward to watching him choke against Lebron. Whomever said KD is a serial choke artist when it really counts? You're spot on. That said, I really would like him back in OKC...so I guess I'm bitter.

I'm counting on this series to go to 7 games though. The real question is: Can Kevin Love stay on the floor if the Warriors go small, or is he going to get exposed? If they have to take Love off the floor I'm not as hopeful about Cleveland's chances. The other thing to watch: Can Klay find his shot? He's shooting something like 30% on 3s for the playoffs. If it wasn't for his heroics against OKC last year, the warriors wouldn't have made the finals.
Chowder Head 路 2017-06-01 17:01:00 路 #4743
Is there any way both of these teams can lose? I hate them all.

Everyone (the media) kept talking about how KD would crumble and get soft under the pressure?

I never like to bet against this guy he has been gutting dudes on the court since his Texas days.

He is quietly been (still) the 2nd best player in the league. I think Westbrook and his noise made people forget about KD. Quietly with 30 points tonight, best player on the floor.

I knew KD wasn't playing when he started the game guarding Lebron.
Chowder Head 路 2017-06-01 23:01:00 路 #4746
We waited 2 weeks for that shitty game. BORING! I have a feeling the Warrior will make quick work of the Cavs. I wish they had less days between games. Game 2 is Sunday not Saturday.
Mr. Accuride 路 2017-06-01 23:04:00 路 #4747
Third quarter Warriors are ridiculous. They might even be stronger than the 1992 Dream Team.

"KD is a pussy," they said...

"He's intimidated by Lebron," they said...

"The Warriors are too shallow and offensively-lopsided with Durant," they said...

People always bash on KD for leaving OKC but wouldn't you? Would you honestly want to play with Russell Westbrook?

I know I wouldn't Westbrook is a ball hog and his style of play will rack stats but never win. KD will win with the warriors this year and possibly a few more titles. Everybody will forget about him leaving OKC hurting his legacy just like with Lebron.
