I would even go as far as getting 2-4 guys and renting a palace/mansion type place, not just a penthouse, something fucking huge and pimp. Having a prvt driver etc... if there are say...4 of us pitching in 1k a month... getting like a 8-10 bedroom place with prvt pool jacuzzi etc.... I want to be able to throw parties etc.... and not worry about neighbors, so I would lean more towards a house.

The only reason I was looking leaning towards the second or third largest city, is because there are a LOT less tourists so the gringo is more rare and your money goes a LOT further in and city that is not a capitol and there are still TONS of girls. This has always worked well for me.

and 250k bht for a place? thats 8k there is NOOOOOOOO reason you should ever pay NEAR that for a pimp place, thats nuts, I couldnt even find something over 150k in change mai and I was looking at real palaces.

Though I just realized there is a HUGE difference in population, I didnt know how low chiang mai was.

Good point about not wanting to have neighbors. I dont know where in Thailand would be best, but it seems in order to have a wide selection of quality talent it would have to be around BKK. I'd imagine that the hot girls from the countryside all go to Bangkok to make a career on their looks.

I'd also prefer someplace less touristy with less pollution/traffic/prostitutes/etc, so maybe a suburb of Bangkok would be ideal?

BTW, I'm tentatively planning Thailand for around November/December '10.

You're spot on that the prices shown on these sites are way inflated and I can bet my right nut on them that these are the gringo prices. I'm fully convinced that once on the ground, we could get something truly sick and pimpy for about 100-150K bath a month and that between 3-4 guys is a good deal.
And you're spot on once again for going for the mansion with 8-10 rooms as that's what we'd need to pull that off. Don't know why but this reminds me of the Mansion in the book the Game. Hopefully this will have a far better ending tough...

But that's some expensive rent for chiang mai! I would definitely just get an idea of the quality of place that you would want online, and then go and look on the ground. Make a female Thai friend or four, and have one of them approach the landlords and negotiate for you. Even pay them to do it. You should be able to get much better prices that way. If the landlord thinks its for a foreigner, the prices will be way inflated. You likely are paying prices that are inflated, even by foreigner standards, if you book online.

If you do want to pay even over 40k for anything, I would seriously look at serviced apartments or even penthouses.

I'm only going to charge you guys a weeks stay for that advice But don't worry, I'll be sure to make and bring some friends who will more than make up for throwing off the ratio...

I'm pretty sure in BKK we could find a nice pimpy place for about 1k a person and in Phuket about the same. Chiang Mai looks like a nice place to chill for a while but IMO wouldn't be the ideal place to do that as once again, I have my doubts about the talent there. But to be honest, another awesome option would be somewhere near the beach. I'm sure in Phuket, we could line something quite nice (like a nice if not beach front, at least not far from the beach villa with our own private swimming pool; just think of the wild parties to be had on or around the pool...mind blowing stuff guys!!! )for 1 to 1.5K per person. My #1 choice would be Phuket, then BKK, then I don't know (I invite all the Thailand experts to voice their opinions in here and suggest us a good alternative place to the Phuket and BKK.

I'm staying till mid Feb (but I'd want to put one month aside as I do want to do the Muay Thai Bootcamp for a month in Phuket to get back in shape before I hit Brasil) then home for a couple of weeks before flying to Brasil for Carnaval in Rio. Hey, if this is successful in Thailand, we could do that in Brasil too, that's an idea to think about...

I would be up for the muay thai boot camp as well as its something I have been wanting to do for a while as well. I have been in the sex chat business for a year and a half. I have actually been playing with the idea of starting an escort service...believe it or not there are plenty of young hotties here that would actually prefer to sell their ass and have no one know about it rather than getting naked on the internet were who knows who is going to see you.

Chiang Mai: quieter, cheaper, no beaches, less pros
