Wanted to throw out this business idea to anybody who needs to sustain themselves while traveling while having a blast.

It's all about geoarbitrage.

While in a country that has very cheap labor (Argentina, Thailand, for example), find existing models through a talent agency or find your own through simple advertising (as I've done in Cordoba).

Hire the model and a photographer for a nude photo shoot. Pay the model a lot by local standards, but a little by USA standards. I'm thinking like $100-200US for the model, $100US for the photographer and equipment.

Sell the material to a US-based site such as these guys:

They will pay you for your photos: "The pay is $1000 to $1600 per shoot"

So we're talking about a net profit of at least $700 per shoot, up to $1400.

Why stop there?

The numbers get bigger with pornography, just dont forget the viagra and brazilian wax.

Feeling really entrepreneurial? Keep the rights to the media and sell memberships to your site. Now you're receiving passive income while banging porn actresses.

Excellent idea, Gringoed.

I do want to add 2 concerns though: 1. Making sure that you're compliant with the local laws of the country. 2. You will need a "base" fund to initially pay the models, something like $1000-1500 or so.

On a side note, I am wondering why this can't be done in the US? I am thinking amateur girls in low cost regions of the US. I imagine that you would have to work harder to recruit the girls and the few hundred dollars might not be considered top shelf pay here, but I can see the plan being executed stateside.

Lol. I wonder if anyone on this board hasn't thought of this..? Not to take a way from Gringoed's post, of course. It was very helpful in detailing specific steps in one wholesale content business model. Way to finally make 'the post' that maybe should have been made a while ago...heh. Its a natural extension of everyone's interests on this board, and an alluring lifestyle for many.

I think a key would be to think of some niches that you could explore as well... if you were starting your own site.

I know that I have one or two in mind...

I'm not introducing this as a groundbreaking new business concept, just outlining how simple it would be. Between the advertising and putting the pieces in place, this would probably be 10hrs of work to get to your first photo shoot.

Most successful businesses can attribute their success not to a novel idea, but to good execution of a plan. The simpler the plan, the more likely that it will be executed well.

Niches eh? Honestly I like DreamStash's niche. A regular guy goes to Eastern Europe, finds 8s,9s,10s, and produces all the porn content himself, while remaining anonymous using strategically placed cameras and POV.

Oh, plus Brazilian fart porn and Japanese girls puking in each others mouths.

Oh, I agree. Don't take my comment as having put what you said down. I didn't mean it that way. I'd imagine that those that have the will to follow through with something like this, with enough drive and an eye for detail in what they do, could have a high chance at being successful.

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it. I may try making porn myself when I go to Eastern Europe (hopefully) this July.

I just watched a lecture from a former porn star who says he has banged about 2500 different women in his career. Yeah.

Here are my steps that I'm thinking of doing, with estimated costs.

1. Buy 2-3 handheld HD camcorders in the US. ($750-1000)
2. Find a lawyer who specializes in international porn laws, have him consult and create any legal documents I may need. ($500)
3. Buy some simple lighting and a tripod ($100)
3. Find the models, and shoot it myself. ($200/per)
4. Edit the footage myself.
5. Eventually start a website ($3000, plus advertising)

So... roughly $5-7k to make it happen. Sound about right?

I think you are undershooting (so to speak) the legal fees. The rest seems correct. This part: "Find the models, and shoot it myself. ($200/per)" seems maybe low as well.

I have never looked into it, but I think a lawyer like that would probably stick it to you (so to speak).

The porn industry specially online is extremely competitive if not already saturated. However, find a niche and focus on that particular niche and your chances of success may be higher. Say for example, a site exclusively on exotic Bolivian chicks or say on Argentinian chicks or some other similar stuff. You get my drift?
That's the way to go. Specialisation in a specific niche as opposed to be a generalist.

Since you're in Argentina already, why don't you experiment that with some of the Boludas you meet as a result of your daily gaming and or your modeling project? Use that as a rehearsal.

Good idea. I'm discussing this with a local Argie friend here who is very well connected and is involved in the modeling project. Since I'll probably be leaving Cordoba in 45 days, this would be more of a learning experience to carry forward to other places.

Theoretically finding girls should be fairly easy here because there are so many hot and young girls that would qualify in the looks department, plus they're all poor and looking for quick cash. The only drawback is the sexual conservatism.

I actually seriously looked into this because it combines the Holy Trinity. "Travel, Money and Pussy." However, the more I looked into it the more discouraged I became. I wasn't planning to actually get rich from this I just wanted to make enough to finance my trips and living expenses abroad. Below were a few of my findings.

First, You need to be on point with the local laws where you are shooting and that of the US. A lot of these Latin countries are not porn friendly at all. There's a reason why 90% of Latin porn is usually shot in Brazil. You have to make sure you understand "Title 18, Section 2257" as if your freedom depends on it because it does....You could end up doing some serious federal time if an underage chick slips thru your screening process and you end up catching a Child Porn case. Also, something to keep in mind is that you are not anonymous regardless of the costume you wear on the video. The Custodian of Records has your government name, address and all your personal info. That information is available to anyone who just writes and ask. As far as the law is concerned they see very little if any difference between shooting nude pictures and full rawdog hardcore sex.

Second, like so many have said porn is saturated and there are Terra upon Terra bytes of free and pirate of content on the internet. Thus, you need a very unique Niche. The " exotic Bolivian chicks" site is actually quite a good idea. I would actually join a site where some Gringo is ass blasting some indigenous Bolivian chick in the Salt Flats of Uyuni because its new, unique and fresh. The "regular guy goes to Eastern Europe, finds 8s,9s,10s, " Genre has been done a million times before, I won't even waste a jerk off session let alone money watching that stuff. As a case in point, the only porn site I have ever paid money to join was called "BlackVaginaFinder.com" It was basically a blog with video were Black dude would drive around in a van picking up and fucking homeless chicks off the street inside his van. The sex itself what wasn't what I found appealing, the pure gold was the dialogue he had with the bums as the session went along. But, I digress...

Third, you need to have a reliable source were you going to find your "talent." Its actually quite difficult to find women who are comfortable sucking and fucking on camera who aren't hardened pros. You can't just put girls you met at the club up on your site unless you get her ID information and have the proper clearances. So recruiting in the club is out of the question. So that pretty much leaves Craiglist or its equivalent as a place to procure your talent. The women who are going to be responding to you ad are probably going to be women that look like they had significant wear and tear on them.

Anyone serious considering should put a few clips on Tube porn site to see if you get any interest because if you can't get people to watch you for free the chances of they paying are nil. Also, Check out the GFY.com board, its a porn webmaster board. They were very useful when I was doing my research.

Porn in the US is almost always shot in CA because they have the Case Law that allows it and protects you from being prosecuted for prostitution. If you shoot porn anywhere else you run the risk of some Tea Party career climber district attorney to trying to make a name for himself by indicting you in some obscure obscenity or promoting prostitution charge. just google "Joe Francis" the guy from "Girls Gone Wild"

No problem kid, I always wanted to get into porn ever since I found out where my pops kept his porn stash. "hydrogonian" actually made a good point before he deleted his post. If you host your site outside the US and have a foreign bank account for credit card processing you can host whatever the fuck you want and don't have to worry about paperwork. I would still make sure they are over 18 and that you have willing participants for Karma purposes.

The porn biz sucks. Nothing more soul-crushing than the porn biz. It will leave you jaded in more ways than you can imagine. Take it from me, I worked in porn valley as a front end designer for an adult entertainment company. Stay away from that shizz. Huge regret of mine working there. I enjoy looking at porn sometimes, but I think the industry is a blight. I used to get invited to parties and stuff but I never bothered to go most the time. There were some normal people who worked there and did accounting, warehouse or ordinary office type jobs, but the editors, reviewers and the hardcorn porn industry types, I did my best to stay away from.

I don't think so. Too many uncontrollable factors/risks/unknowns. Maybe if you just stayed in the US or Brazil.

Porn is a very profitable business, but mostly for the big established companies.

Lots of shady people in this biz also. I have heard a few stories here in San Francisco about girls setting up small time porno guys to be robbed and even local gangsters extorting the porno guys. And 90% of the girls are fucking crazy.

Probably too much drama for me. But a facinating idea for sure.

Good point. Anytime you get involved in a "sin industry" expect an unwelcome visit.

Not to mention a potential un-hospitable visit from an ex-boyfriend, brother or father.
