If you can't get a girl to meet you after a 5 minute chat I don't understand the difference between that and texting. By callin you are practicing being persuasive.

I work 80+ hours a week. I will never text a girl until I have already had sex with her. Or I am forced to because she also makes well over 6 figures and can't pick up the phone, then yes be logistical.

If talking to a girl decreases your sexual vibe with her then I would wager salesmanship is weak. Nothing but upside by calling, downside is you find out you spit relatively weak game, that's fine I'd rather not waste my time with her.

Why do people cut off my posts in their replies? Damn man 80 hours a week is rough, let alone 80+. Assuming you sleep 6 hours a night that only leaves 46 hours of free time a week maximum. I can respect that as my father used to do the same when he moved to this country with a couple thousand in his pockets and nothing else. He is now a very successful business owner. However, I enjoy my free time and extra-curricular pursuits. To each his own.

It sounds like you're still improving your verbals and using the phone as a means to practice, which is cool. I am confident enough in mine that I don't feel the need to "practice".

Anyway, it's cool you do what you do as I assume it's working for you, I'll keep doing what I do because I know it works for me.

Fair enough, I am going to ignore the quasi insult of saying I'm practicing. I'll clarify.

If you're texting you're not getting better at anything. Texting is lazy. It does not make you better at life. Talking on the phone has 0 down side. It makes you practice talking/selling.

I'll add I have yet to see a successful sales pfch done via email. You must meet/talk it out.

Text = lazy game. I never said it doesn't work. It's just not making you better.

I don't do anything that doesn't help me get better. Hell the only reason I post here is to get connected more if possible.

Your father is a GREAT example! He busts ass, now runs a business. This is why I agree with a ton of what G says because it's always be improving.

If someone says to me "don't you just want an average life?" I look at them and straight tell them. Fuck You. If you want to be average talk to someone else, you only live once you max out every second. If you fail, then sure you reset, but that's just unacceptable to not try IMHO.

So yeah the real title should be "what does texting add to your life". Nothing. Avoid useless shit if possible, it's a last resort.

I used to be a proponent of calling over texting. Now I realize that texting is a huge tool in the player's arsenal.

Texting allows me to mass text all the numbers I collect. Texting allows me to control the tempo of the interaction. I can artfully craft my responses and respond at my leisure. I can guage her interest level by how she responds. It's low investment.

In my experience, most girls <25 are simply lousy at phone conversations, particularly with guys they barely know. Remember, this is the tail end of Gen Y we're dealing with here. These girls grew up with their faces stuck in front of a screen. These aren't the stereotypical teen girls of the 80s and 90s who'll yack their heads off on the phone!

Moreover, every time you call and she doesn't pick up, you lose value. Worse, you risk looking socially uncalibrated/weird/creepy/awkward. This generation of girls <25 is extremely sensitive to violations of social norms. They want to avoid awkwardness at all costs.

However, if you made a strong enough initial impression during your initial interation, whether you call her or txt her won't make a difference. You're unlikely to get a girl out by BSing over the phone. Worse, you may even torpedo your prospects by saying something stupid, awkward silences etc. So focus on your in-person game. Use texting for pings, to warm her up, and to set up dates. Don't bother with phone calls until you've banged her.

The goal is to reach a point where you're so smooth on the phone a "fuck up" won't happen or as Sam said earlier. He doesn't even trip when he calls because he knows she will pick up or text back immediately.

Your post is validating that text is a lazy mans game. Text makes it easier for you. Maybe I am old school but then again I am in my 20's and I only go for girls who are 19-24 range.

I am going to ask the same question that no one wants to answer.

What skill do you gain/learn by texting?

The answer is nothing.

I ask girls if they like to call or text. The answers vary. I think most people would rather text because its just more convenient and there is less pressure. I have had some great relationships with cool chicks who preferred texting. On the other hand, I have had a few girls tell me that they like it when a guy calls because it shows more balls and confidence. Everyone is different.

Obviously, we need to be able to do both. But, in terms of developing your game, I think calling a girl and talking to her develops your game faster, there is more pressure, you have to be more quick witted, you don't get 5 minutes to think about your answer, you are forced to be spontaneous. Because of this, calling/talking is a better exercise for improving your game and inner game.

When I call its not always because I think the girl will like talking, its because I want to call. I want to express myself over the phone and test my verbal skills. I am doing what I feel like doing and I am not so much concerned with what she wants. Even if she says she doesn't like talking, all you gotta do is make her laugh or make her feel comfortable and the conversation could be great. You could be the only guy who gets her comfortable over the phone, while everyone else is texting her because they think that's what she wants. I like to be a little different from the crowd.

I like leaving strong voicemails also.

If I call and then just hang up without leaving a message, I feel like a pussy.

If I get her voicemail, I just leave a short and strong message. I like to use some humor and of course display zero neediness. It has taking me some time to get really comfortable leaving messages but I like doing it because I know very few guys are doing it anymore.

I dont even check my voicemails. I assumed most people don't. I just call or txt back if I miss a call. If you have a strong initial interaction, it doesn't matter if you txt or call. Most likely she'll reply back and want to meet with you either way. If you can't make a connection it doesn't matter how awesome your vmail message was or whether you call or how funny your text was or how non-needy you seem. She won't make an effort to reconnect. I wouldn't.

Once again, I think some guys here are speculating and theorizing from the way they think things ought to be in their minds. I'm coming from real world experience.

In the past year, my buddies and I have number closed over 100 girls from cold approach. Mostly from the local campus and almost all girls <25.

We've tried calling girls. In the vast majority of cases they never picked up. Some explicitly they said they preferred texting.

We've got many girls out on dates exclusively via text with minimal effort. There's a level of finesse involved with texting, but it can be a potent tool if you know how to use it right.

In almost all cases the initial interaction was 5-10 minutes max (I've been flaked on by girls after instant-dates so I don't bother now.) If your initial interation was strong and if she doesn't have other circumstances in her life that prevent her from meeting you,  she'll be down. Whether you call her or text her won't make a difference.

Furthermore, when you're playing the numbers game managing a dozen girls at a time via phone calls can get tedious and time consuming. This is where texting is an incredible tool. I have an entire text routine that I copy and paste and use on several girls at a time. Some girls will bite, some girls won't. The ones that bite I know are down, and I set up the date quickly. The window of opportunity from these quick closes is 1-2 weeks max, so it's critical to work quickly.

And yes, I want to get my dick wet with as many attractive girls with the least amount of time and money spent as possible. You can call that lazy. I call it practical and efficient.

Yes you have a huge advantage in text because your vocabulary is large. You have a large dictionary to pull from. Your game is military. You attack.

I think I mentioned once your typing is "frightening", but your build/look/tone probably all make sense and are congruent with that style.
